****Official December 2014 Check-In! ****

I love having my AP for that very reason. I may only go once a year (usually), so it feels like I'm getting a 'deal' on the second one!

I just had to comment on this, Escape2Disney -- doesn't it always seem as though, even despite the ever-increasing prices of the AP, it is a great deal?:rotfl2: It doesn't take too many days in the parks to make the AP worthwhile -- just a handful of one-day trips even makes it a good bargain for those who like to park hop, let alone any trip that is longer. Now that's not to say that the APs aren't expensive, as they surely are, but given that they come with discounts and occasional other perks, they provide a good value overall.

I'm excited for the themes to start. I've never been to DLR during the holiday season so I won't be posting photos but I'm very excited to see what others post! I would love to play the games though!

I do the math each time. Most of the time it's more cost effective if I can schedule 2 trips in 12 months. With all of my health drama, we tend to stay at least 6 days so I can take long rests mid-day. Two 6-day trips justify the Deluxe AP even if there were no discounts. Since we stay onsite, it becomes a no-brainer.

Now if the money fairy could drop a few thousand into my lap so I can make it 3 trips in 12 months, then I could spring for the Premium AP...

The themes are a lot of fun! Just a reminder though that the themes will be in the Christmas Superthread (a link is on the first post of this thread). I'd hate for you to miss it!

They are a relatively good deal (lol)! Each December we plan for an eight-day DLR trip and time it so we can fit two years' worth of visits (16 days) on one AP. This December we'll let our AP's lapse until we renew them on the 5th day of our 2015 trip (on the last day of our 5-day park hopper passes - tho we always keep an eye out for rule changes in upgrading to APs). Then we'll do the same process of planning and lapsing, only to get APs again in 2017!

We'll see what the future holds for AP prices and if it starts to outstrip the cost of multiple 5-day park hopper passes. Oh, like *that* would ever happen... LOL!!! *sarcasm alert*

Hi everyone- BRAND new to this forum, but have been so HAPPY to found it and all the info on DLR! This will be my dd's first disney trip (other than a quick look at DTD) and my and DH's first trip to DLR in about 20 or more years!! I won a trip in a sweepstakes and they provided 3 days tickets for us AND 2 nights at the Grand Californian Hotel!!! We are going to stay at the HoJo the night before the parks too- so put us down for a split stay on 12/12 (HoJo) and 12-13-12-14 (GCH)- we are going to Knott's Berry Farm Hotel after our DLR stay :)

Be sure to get anniversary buttons for each of you and a birthday button for your honey. Sometimes they will have them at the hotels. If they don't, you can stop by City Hall in DL or the Chamber of Commerce in DCA. Have fun!

Benefits of having kids at a young age!. Our kids will be teens while we're still in our thirties too and yes, I'm secretly hoping DH and I will get another couple-only trip to Disney at that point. We went for our honeymoon 15 years ago (when we were 20) and loved every moment.

Have a fabulous time together!

Yes!! it IS a wonderful benefit of having kids young (doesn't seem like it at the time though :rotfl:) We will be celebrating our anniversary and my birthday too :rotfl: It will be nice to just SLOW down! The kids are 100% ok with us ditching them...they know we need a break

We are SOOOO excited- lol wish it wasn't 6 months away, but good for planning! My dd is 6 and will be 7 in July, so she will really enjoy! We are also bringing our DS, who is due in Sept... Not sure how it will go, but we can't go when I'm pregnant due to medical issues and we have to use our trip or lose it by Dec 15th, so we are literally using our 3 day tickets with the last day ON Dec 15th... hahaha Other than the brand new infant with us and my type A personality planning out every little detail we may need (LOL of course it won't go as planned ) it will be SO fun and DD will really enjoy- grandma is coming with DH and I so that should help a little

It seems a lot of us Oregonians flock to Anaheim in December! A couple of years ago I did the Dec. Check-in thread, and a large percentage of people were from our state.

I live in Rogue River. It's about 6 miles south of GP.

Dh and I are at the VGC Dec 2-3. Quick first time visit. Driving up from SanDiego with good friends! They've been many times. So, good to have tour guides. Feels kind of funny going to a Disney park and having no idea as to what I'm doing. There is little I don't know about WDW!!! Really looking forward to it though!!!

We are enjoying the benefit of having kids young as well! Took a 1 year anniversary trip without the kids when we were 20 and are now in our mid-30s with just two more years to go until both are in college. :cool1::cool1:

Our trip is planned for Christmas again this year. We went back in 2012 and had a great time, so here we go again. We have two family friends coming along, so there will be 6 of us in total. We have a room at the Camelot Inn held and will be there 12/21-12/27. We will be driving down this trip and are planning to hit Disney, Knotts, Universal and Magic Mountain before heading back up after new year's. YAY for tired feet!

We went the same time as you a few years ago Escape!

Hello to my fellow Salemite and neighbor in Stayton. We Oregonians clearly understand the best time of year to go to Disneyland.

My trip is paid for! I used the Get Away Today layaway plan, and really shouldn't of had it payed off till November. I received a post card from DL that was cheaper than GAWT, I was all ready to cancel with them and they said we will price match it. Would you believe I got 7.45 refund. I have my car service paid for(Execucar ) Now all I have to do is wait for Dec.10th.
