Thank you - we are huge animal people, so it's a blow to lose two in one year. I keep saying we're not getting any new animals, and then somehow, somebody needs a home and it ends up being at our house. I just can't ever say no!

We have friends that feel the same way! Our family has allergy issues, so we don't have any pets, but we would like to!

This is why I love Disney so much - it gives so many people something to look forward to. :goodvibes I know it's been a pretty sough spring and summer for me, so this quick trip for my birthday is definitely going to help, and I think celebrating New Year's at WDW is the absolute best way to get a fresh start on a new year - I just don't know if it'll ever get here! :rotfl:

We are going to DW Dec 2 to 14 and have an Illuminations Specialty Cruise booked for December 7.

So far, just DH, DD (age 15) and myself are on the cruise - there is room for 7more people.

Willing to split cost evenly with everyone on the cruise (if 10 people are on the cruise, the cost will be $35 per person plus tip). Respond if you are interested in joining us. I hear it is amazing seeing Illuninations via cruise ship on the lake!

Hope you join us.

Line:thumbsup2

Bumping you along...we would love to do the cruise, but don't arrive until the 9th. Myself, DD21 and DD20. Here's wishing you get a full boat. pixiedust:

I had a bad day, too. I need a DIS fix to cheer me up!!! :cheer2:

I was injured at the grocery store today!!! :sad1: An elderly man in an ECV came around one of the corners pretty fast, crashed into my full (very heavy) shopping cart, and shoved in VERY hard into my stomach - right in the spot where I've recently had my 8th surgery. It was terrible! The people at the store wanted to call an ambulance, but there is no way I was doing that! They helped me to my car, and I've been resting since then. I am bummed because this was the first day since my surgery that it wasn't hurting. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. :thumbsup2

How awful TruBlu! Here's a hug for you! Hopefully the hit didn't cause any damage. Please take it easy and get plenty of rest!

I'm going to be very careful for the next few days. If it's still hurting after a day or two, I'm going to call my surgeon. Only I could get a shopping injury! :upsidedow

I do hope you feel better soon! pixiedust: sending pixie dust your way!

I too, have been injured, but not as bad as being run over by an elderly person. I put an ice pack on my skin without a cloth protection and gave myself frost bite, equivalent to a second degree burn. I did this at the beginning of the week and I am still in some pain. I am also allergic to adhesives in tape and band aids, which is not helping in the healing process. All this is due to my own stupidity.:rolleyes1 I'm college educated with a medical background and one would think that I would know NOT to put a frozen object directly on the skin for a long period of time!:confused3 Oh well, lesson learned (the hard way)!

Not looking for sympathy, just sharing and maybe helping others to NOT make the same mistake.

Thanks for sharing! I use an icepack all the time with my back, but I always but a towel between the icepack and my skin. I have been guilty of laying on the ice pack far too long!!! Hope you get better soon! Sending a hug your way!

Me too! I had a horrible reaction to the steri-strips they used after my 6th surgery. It was awful! My skin blistered up over an inch thick!!! :scared1: Now they close me up with staples and some sort of glue. :thumbsup2 It is not fun being allergic to band aids. :sad2: I hope your burn gets better fast. I know that must be terribly painful. :guilty:

Obviously I don't know what your surgery was....but maybe it would be a good idea to call the surgeon anyway??? I'm so sorry about what happened. Good grief! Is no where safe????

 So sorry you suffered the shopping injury, you need to rest and spend a few days on the DIS boards!! :surfweb:

***BANGING HEAD ON WALL***

Having a really bad night (college related). I have a group assignment due tomorrow night. Everyone has known about it for 5 weeks but yet we still have two people slacking and haven't turned their portions in. So the rest of the team is having to scramble to get these portions completed. Not to mention on top of getting the group project squared away and turned in (my responsibility) I also have a paper to write and get turned in by Monday night as well.

I have a feeling I'm going to be up REALLY late tonight. Thank God Alan just bought a 24 pack of Coke. I'm going to need it.

yeah for 70s. i need to work on a countdown calendar, but not sure when i will have time. about to face a really crazy month. good news is at least it will go by fast? i have a bday party, 3 day trip to san fran for work, 3 day trip to seattle for work, bunco at my house, flea market trip, hosting a baby shower for my sis, visit to the TX state fair and a halloween party. how will i find the time!?

just looking forward to WDW!!!! hopefully ordering my tickets for MVMCP today- can we order those online? i think we called last year.

so sorry, i hated group projects in college. i hate to say it, BUT, it is good preparation for the real world, because in my office, i deal with the same exact problem a few times a week, someone else not doing their part. maybe that is the lesson the project is supposed to teach us, not the material itself. maybe you've experienced that too? :confused3:rotfl::rotfl2: enjoy those cokes (my fave too!). ;) hope it gets better and gets pulled together.

Thanks! It hurts a lot less now, but the band aid pain is sometimes more painful! I can put a band aid on for 30 minutes and the rash will remain for two days, sometimes longer! My husband has been wrapping me in an ace bandage just to give my skin a break from all the adhesives.
He's about ready to wrap me in bubble wrap to prevent me from hurting myself again (I am accident prone).:rolleyes1 He usually stops me from riding my horse 6 weeks from vacation time, as this is usually a normal recovery time for most injuries.:thumbsup2
Just to show you how clutzy (or unlucky) I am, When we last visited WDW I ended up on crutches. On our first DCL cruise, we weren't on the boat 2 hours before I slipped and fell on deck 9 (unhurt). On cruise #2, I was helping my mom out of her life vest and ripped my fingernail off at the top, taking skin with it! I have a gift, what can I say!:confused3 Hence my childhood nickname of "Boo-Boo":goodvibes

Back to you though, I would call the surgeon just to be safe. Just because it stops hurting doesn't necessarily mean everything is ok. And this comes from one who likes to self diagnose and self treat!:rolleyes1 If not the surgeon, at least see a G.P. and get their advice. Hope all goes well!:flower3:

Hope today is a better day for all of you - has to be, it is one day closer to WDW!

I have a secret that I MUST share or I will burst....shhhhh....really, you can't tell anyone because my girls can't find out. I just booked the Garden View Tearoom for Afternoon Tea on Dec. 13th. Sooo fortunate as there were very few openings that day. My babies are going to be celebrating their 20 and 21 birthdays! We did tiaras last year for CRT, so I am thinking white gloves and pearls for the Tea. Any other ideas to make it extra special that won't break the bank?

Remember, shhhh, it's a secret between us disers.

I HATED (HATED!!!) group projects, study groups in college and grad school. H.A.T.E.D. them! Probably why I found a career where I can be pretty independent. Slackers made me crazy. Let's just say I feel your pain. And it drove me nuts when some of us would do the work and the slackers got the grades for it simply because we were in the group with them. pirate: ARRGH! Hang in there though. :goodvibes

That's the same day my DD and I are going! We have ADRs at 3:20pm. But wow...we weren't planning to dress up so much! Maybe I'll have to adjust the plan--your surprise sounds GREAT! I haven't told DD that we are doing it either. Have fun! :goodvibes
