No kidding! We're going big on the hotel since it's our first trip, and technically our honeymoon, but I am just excited to be going! I've look at some pics of SSR...it's seems like a huge property, but any resort with the word "spa" in the title sounds good to me!

Our first DVC stay was at SSR and I loved it. :) I really don't think there was anything about it that I didn't like. We had a 2 bedroom lockout because we had friends staying with us.

Does anyone think the Dec 5th MVMCP will sell out??? I was thinking about holding off to make sure weather etc is good before we buy the tickets...but scared it might sell out?

Why do some nights get discounted and others not? Any insight?

I really do not think it will sell out.... usually the closer to Christmas the party is, the faster it sells out... last year, we went to the party the last Friday before Christmas, I think it was the 17th and it was'nt even sold out that night... You're Good!:goodvibes

Does anyone have a suggestion for how much time to allow to see the Osborne lights at DHS?

Fantasmic! starts at 6:30 so I'm figuring we'll have to be in line around 5 or 5:15....Fantasmic will be over around 7:00...and the park closes at 8:00pm. Is 7-8 enough time?

I haven't seen it, but I would think an hour would be enough time. Unless you wanted to count the bulbs, then you might want to give it more time, say a year or so.:lmao:

An hour I think is fine. Its gorgeous but you kinda just walk down the street, listen to the music, stare at the lights and try to keep your mouth shut so Snowp (what my kids call the Snow that Disney makes since its just soap LOL) doesn't get in it. So I think you will be fine!

Need suggestions I may have asked before but thought I would try again. Where to eat CS breakfast?

Could you suggest one place in each park. Now I would love to just grab a pastry at any of the shops but DH is diabetic so they are a BIG no no for him. So I need someplace that he can eat at as well. We will be in a 2bd and have a kitchen but I'm really trying to not use it. I make 3 meals a day for DH and the kids and well I need a vacation too.

"Snowp" :rotfl: I'll have to remember that. Thanks for the response about Osborne lights.

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons has a very nice selection.
Magic Kingdom: Main Street Bakery also has hot breakfast items and fruit
Hollywood Studios: Fairfax Fare
Animal Kingdom: Pizzafari

I hope that helps! You can see the menus on allears.net

They have the snow at MGM?

Well as of today you can officially add DH and I to the December crowd...even better than that, you can add us to the Christmas crowd! We'll be there Dec 19-26th.
:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

I haven't been to WDW at Christmas since my parents took me in the mid 90s. We don't plan on doing the Christmas party, but was hoping for other ideas of things to do since the parks will be packed.

Well, good thing is you can see the party events all that week at MK, they show the parade twice daily, as well as the Holiday Wishes fireworks each evening and I believe they do some of the stage shows as well.

The Christmas Parade at AK is really not to be missed for us. Check out Osborne Lights at DHS and of course Christmas Around the World at Epcot, along with the Candlelight Processional. Oh and you must do some Christmas Shopping at DTD :thumbsup2

Hi All -
I just joined the DISBoard and this is my first posting (scary!).

Our family [DH, me, DS (4) and DD (2)] will be heading to WDW on Sunday 11/28. We will be celebrating our DD's 3rd birthday. We took our DS last year for 2 days right before his 3rd birthday, so this will be his sister's 1st trip.

We're going to check in to All Star Movies, then tour hotels and Downtown Disney on the 28th. We'll also decorate our room for Christmas (such cool ideas from y'all). On Monday-Friday (11/29-12/3), we'll be doing the parks (MK/AK/Epcot/HS/MK). Then we'll head home early Saturday (12/4) for Christmas programs at church Sunday...we'll be whooped, I'm sure, but we'll have such awesome memories to share at Christmas.

Our DS was a bit nervous last year (dark/noise fears), but is totally acting the big brother part now in telling his sister how cool WDW is. His Dad & I agree and LOVE EVERYTHING about Disney. 80 days and countin, baby!

Yes, when they turn on the Osborne Lights, it starts snowing.

Oh that is such great news! I am upset because MVMCP is all sold out the dates we will be there so no hope of tix and my big draw for that was the snow. My kids would love the snow. If we can get the snow... er snowp at MGM then I win!

Thanks

Hey December people! So Baby Zuzu is off to prep school (she's doing a post-grad year for sports) and Mom Zuzu is having a tough time adapting to our extremely empty next (she's our only 1)! So, college Moms, how do you make it through the first semester? I've got our Disney planning to keep me busy, but working VERY hard on NOT texting, emailing or calling every hour to ask if she's warm enough, getting enough sleep, taking care of herself, etc. etc.

I know, I'm being silly.

I know it is hard, my DD is a soph. in college, and she had a rough first yr. I am on Facebook with her and she get mad at me posting I love you on her wall and mentioning her in my status. So I backed off, we made a pact that she would call every Thursday( a night we usually were home). Sometimes she would text or call just to talk. She is only and hour and a half away, so she could come home about any time she needed to. This yr. she is more confident and I am sad she doesn't need me as much. You will survive, just try not to dwell on what she is doing every waking minute, if she needs something, she will call. Hope that helps:cutie:

When did you want to go? I just checked several dates in Dec. and they still had tickets. How did you find out they were sold out? Now I'm worried about getting ours. :guilty: I'm buying them as soon as I get home!!!
