I just booked a hotel at Myrtle Beach. I'm paying the same per night as we pay at POFQ. I sure wish we were going there instead... :sad1:

Hurry up December! :santa:

We only live an hour from Myrtle Beach! What hotel did you book with?
I'm surprised you had to pay so much!:confused3

The Dunes Village. We've stayed there before, so we know it's really nice. :) We are really happy because it has a washer and dryer. Yay! No sandy beach towels. :goodvibes

We've stayed there too! Actually, I took my DD11 and three of her BFF's this past March for her birthday! We loved the room and the girls loved the waterparks! We actually went out in 40 degree weather and got in the lazy river just to say we did it-I had to look "hip" with the girls you know!:rotfl:
Do you get their emails? In Jan./Feb. you can book rooms for as little as $39.00 a night!!!!!:woohoo: We plan on spending the weekend there for our DS 5's birthday in February. Both of my children have birthdays when it's cold so it's hard to come up with something to do that's fun besides Chucky Cheese, Let's Get Bouncin'(all kinds of inflatables, etc.)
Hope ya'll have a great time!

Thanks for the tip! I'll sign up for their emails. :goodvibes I was lucky to get the last room they had. :yay: (I was wondering if that was true, so I checked online and it was!) My boys can't wait to go back. They really like the big chess game and basketball in the pool. :thumbsup2

Sorry! I thought the same thing, but it must have been taken at Christmas time-you can see a little bit of holly on Minnie's apron.

It was a great album, made me want to get a good spot for the MVMCP parade! We're usually too busy to sit and stake out a good spot but maybe we'll try it this trip.

Is anybody doing a countdown calendar? I think we are going to make one that starts at 100 days. In the past the boys and I have made a really long chain with one construction paper link per day. We drape it all around our family room, and the boys take turns removing a link per day. Anybody have anything better they do? :confused3

Thats a cute idea!

Thanks! Was wondering how different Minnie's Holiday dress is from her normal dress. MIL is making DD4 a Minnie dress and I was wondering how different it would have to be to fit in on MVMCP party night.
Minnie's outfits can also depend on the different places she performs that night. The previous link looks like her outfit from the MVMCP parade. But for the show on the castle stage, she has worn a red and green plaid dress. At the Night Before Christmas show in Tomorrowland (which they stopped performing last year), she was wearing green Christmas pajamas. But generally, I think that the red and white Mrs. Claus dress is a good option!

I have been bugging my dh to go back to the world since we got home after our last years Christmas trip. He finally agreed to go back again this December! I am so excited. I have our resort booked, split stay between SSR and Beach Club. We are going Dec. 15-23rd. Now I just need to order tickets and do a little planning. We are going to try the counter service dining plan this time around. I will admit I am kind of excited about not be tied to ADRs. I know, I know, the horror. :dance3:

We really wanted to try a different time of year but there was no availability the week we needed to go in October because of school schedules. (My inlaws give us DVC points each year.) We didn't want summer because of the heat and spring break doesn't work for us. So this will be our 3rd December trip in a row. We just love the weather this time of year and the atmosphere. Maybe next year I can get that fall break trip booked.

Oh, yeah, I am thinking we are going to surprise our 7 and 9 year old. Any good ideas on how to do it?

We are doing QSDP next October and I am also very excited to not be tied down. I am going to try to only book 2 TS restaurants for that trip but I'm sure it will be hard to do

Saying you are going somewhere else is a good strategy. It will explain why there is packing going on as well. And make the fictitious vacation spot really boring....like Topeka.....or Santa Fe...or Little Rock. Then on leaving day surprise them with the truth.

7 and 9 year olds may like to do a scavenger hunt with a different clue at each spot....for example the clue to go to the air port would some how get them in the car, then the next onto the plane and then when they are on the plane they could open a "gift" in a small box with a small mickey mouse ornament or something like that etc.

Got most of the ADRs set up. On the DxDDP, so my GF will probably complain about me plotting to make her fat. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Up until the airport, you're doing OK with a hunt. But you'd have to finish it before you get to the gate. Even a 7 year old will know that you're getting on a plane to Orlando, not Topeka.

Quick Question - since MK closes much earlier in December on the weekdays, will this plan still work for me?

MK - Wednesday Dec. 15th - wishes are at 8 and we hope to eat afterwards at Chef Mickeys. Since the park closes following wishes, will I be able to get back to Pop using the monorail back to MK to get on the Disney bus after finishing my meal?

Not to sound too much like a 5yr old but I watched MSEP on youtube tonight and then Spectro and cried becuase im so so so disappointed that it will be MSEP. I HATE THAT MUSIC! Spectro gives me the chills..

Wait!?! We aren't going to see Spectro - its going to be the Electrical Pageant instead? UGH!

I think we're going to do the link chain, too. My girls are too young to really get it, so it will be more for me than for them, but I think it will be fun anyway!

Hurry up December! :santa:
We just got back from MB a couple of weeks ago! We go there every single year, and to WDW every other year. This is a 2-vacation year, so it's extra exciting! :thumbsup2 We stay at Compass Cove every year, so if you're ever looking for a new place, I highly recommend it!

Why can't I leave well enough alone? I keep checking member services to change resorts and I keep checking my ADRs and available ADRs. ANyone done Garden Grove? Thinking of switching that with either Biergarten or Cape May dinner. I am driving myself insane!!!

NO, NO, NO!!!!!!

I just looked at the schedule for the Middle School band last year. (DS11 starts 6th grade this year.) Their Christmas Concert was on Monday, Dec. 7. :headache: That means that it will probably be during our trip this year... Dec 4-11. I just talked to DS and he asked me to please make sure he didn't miss it. :headache::headache::headache:

Looks like I might be changing our dates again.... He has band camp next week, so I'll wait until I talk to his teacher.

My DIS side is SCREAMING at me.... I have Le Cellier booked twice, and all our ADRs are perfect.... there is NO WAY I can get new ADRs when I would want them now.... :sad1: But MOMMY side knows that she will move the trip if she needs to. :flower3:
