I think we are going to do lunch at Sci Fi too.. I thought we could use a credit for our two yr old at the new pizza place.. like just order 3 pizzas but we cant! So now im stuck again

We are moving THREE times during our stay! I know I'm crazy.. half is in Saratoga and Half in AK but moving to a Savanna View room for the last two nights.. so we could do three different kinds of DP if we wanted to. Thinking of doing Deluxe for two nights in the middle since we want to eat at the new pizza place in Epcot that is pretty $$. This way we will get the mug for the entire time at AK too. I'll be able to carry over some credits to eat someone on the last day before we leave.. back to square one now! Changing some ADRs! Where is a good table service to eat lunch at Hollywood??

Changing DDPs is why I am trying to do a split stay. Unfortunatly there is no availability anywhere other then our first night. So I am hoping our waitlist comes through so I can do Deluxe the first part of the trip and regular DDP for the rest.
We've only done a split stay with the DDP once because if you aren't DVC you have to buy tickets with each stay - so that runs the $ WAY up. The one time we did it we were with friends who are DVC members. It was wonderful! It's so nice to be able to switch resorts. That trip we started out at the POP and moved into Saratoga Springs. That was a huge upgrade!

Sorry - I know it's just a typo, but I found it funny. :lmao:

We love Sci-Fi for lunch. The burgers are great! :thumbsup2

I really liked Sci-Fi, but my kids totally didn't get it...I thought the cars were cool and the giant movies were hilarious, but the kids really didn't like it much. So we are trying 50's Prime Time this year.

My friend's whole family loves Sci-Fi though....so maybe it was just my kids.

Ok you guys have forced me to do a trip report and once I get some of the basics done I will add it to my sig BUT how do you link your posts in your first post? I can't seem to figure it out.

I was thinking of doing a trip report.. but Im afraid no one will read it! kwim!?

I have already had a few designers on DISigns make me some personalized creations-will probably add more!:rotfl:
I found a great place to order autograph books! They are personalized with over 100 designs to choose from!:surfweb: PM if you want more info!:thumbsup2
Our kids love to trade pins-I've got special pins for POP, their favorite characters(DD 11 loves JoBro's-new 4 piece set out for them!) and lots of Christmas pins for them to trade-I have enough to give them two new ones each day! I also bought Christmas lanyards for them to use since this is special Christmas trip for them!
I'm busy making magnets for our resort door at POP and our own vinyl clings for the windows! I started making my own magnets last year, but didn't know you could buy vinyl cling paper at any local office supply store! This is going to be so much fun!!!!:wizard:

OoO pm'ing you! I started making my own but Ill pm you!

I got soo many pins. I went pin crazy!!! LoL

I had a bunch of DISigners make me stuff too!!!! Im totally obsessed!!!!

Would you help me get started with the DIS custom stuff, I am confused on where to start! I found some stuff on eBay, is it better to go there?

I want some matching Christmas shirts... that kind of stuff!! :santa:

No problem!:thumbsup2
It will take awhile, but your best bet is to go to DISigns on in this forum-there are tons of designers who post their designs for free and will customize designs for you! Be sure to read the first posts and that will help you get started!:cool1:
PM and I will tell you more about other sites you can use-not supposed to post here!

We're staying at Pop Century. This has become our tradition. We're limited to the values and have thought about trying the others (Movies, Music), but we just love Pop too much. Having the dedicated bus is very nice.

And yes, planning is awesom! It's a lot like playing legos. Building and arranging is just as much fun as playing with the final product. Not to mention it also helps pass the time and stay immersed in all things Disney.

Anyone been during this time of year before? Curious to know about crowd levels. I'm banking on it being pretty busy, but hoping that the Christmas rush holds off a bit. It hasn't been that difficult to get ADR's, so i'm hoping that's a good sign.

Maybe we will see you there! :wizard:

I PMed you, but let me know if you can't find the store on the site. I'm going back on now and make sure I sent you the right name-I think you had trouble getting to it a couple of weeks ago. Just let me know!

Just for the sake of accuracy, adult AP holders can also get the DDP without buying tickets, so they can also do a split stay.

Hello everyone. I'm planning our first Christmas disney vacation :santa: and have been reading and gleaning wonderful tips from this thread as well. Thank you!

My ? (I posted this ? also on another post but wanted the advice from this thread as well. I'm looking for 1 additional Christmas "magical moment"

We are considering adding on an additional day to our holiday WDW Christmas vacation in order to add on the Very Merry Christmas Party. Is it worth the extra hotel expense + the party tickets???

Or, would you add on the dessert party for the family at the end of the trip for the last night?

Thanks for input :santa:

After you post an entry, click on the post number. This should open the post in another tab. Copy the URL. Go to the first page of your PTR and click edit. Add text for the title of the new entry. Highlight the text then click the Insert Link icon and paste the URL. Viola, links to all of the official entries.

I have gotten quite addicted to the Christmas PTR's in the last couple of weeks, so if you create it, I will read it. :surfweb: :thumbsup2
I can't speak for anybody else though.

ouch on moving 3x, but sounds like it is worth it! on HS dining- for sitdown, i've only done Sci Fi and Prime Time (and used to work at H&V). We like Prime Time for the 'home cooking', but our last experience in December was bad, took over 2 hours for our meal- food took forever, service was bad. We like Sci Fi too- but more for atmosphere than food. I prefer Prime Time's food over Sci Fi. Sci Fi does have a good burger and i don't think they even list it on the dinner menu, but it is available. I love the BLT soup too! One day I will try Brown Derby or Mama Melrose!

click on the page number/post that you want to link too. Then highlight/copy that URL. then go to edit your first page where you want to link everything. put in the text you want (for example- Day 1 itinerary), then highlight that text and hit the icon that has the globe with a chain link on it- it will pop up a window with http://- delete that http:// and then just paste in that URL you copied. It will have your text there "Day 1 Itinerary", but it will be underlined and linked to that URL/page/post.

what dates you are going to WDW? MVMCP is fun- we look at it more as additional park time for us, since the MK closes at 7pm on non party nights, so it really limits our evening MK time. even when there is an EMH night, it is super crowded, since all non party goers go that night to get the extra hours. We do enjoy the holiday parade and holiday wishes, plus the free snacks, which i guess aren't really free in the big picture! lol But we enjoy it and do it every year. planning for 12/9 this year. of course i think adding an extra day is always a good thing- whether for MVMCP or not, i guess it depends on your financial situation and if you can make that happen, then yeah, do it! We also have done the WISHES dessert party and it was fun too- but you won't get holiday wishes, only normal wishes. If you don't plan to go back for the holidays anytime soon, i would just go ahead and add hte extra night and do MVMCP so you can say you did it!

OK, looks like I needed to be hit over the head for your PTR. I can't believe I never read the PTR of the person who is keeping track of all of our PTR's. Feel free to mock me to your hearts content for being Captain Oblivious.

Ok well here is my Christmas PTR hope you enjoy my insanity
can't wait to read it Vicki!

LOl, I'll forgive you this time, but just don't forget again! :rotfl::laughing: I promise there is all kinds of fun drama, just you wait. Never a dull moment. I don't know if that is a good or bad thing. I haven't decided yet.

but good news is that I am an official Annual Passholder!!! yippee!!! purchased last night before prices went up with our DVC discount. woo hoo! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Ok, so I'm seeing all these Pre-Trip Reports which will lead to Trip reports (I assume unless people are sadistic and detail the lead in but not the actual event :lmao:). So I start to wonder if I should be writing something but I can't imagine that I can write anything that people would actually want to read.
I was thinking of kind of doing a live trip report/daily updates/Q&A :surfweb: but do I need to do a PTR first? And if I do any of these things will anyone even read them and if they do will they then die of boredom or scratch a hole in their heads trying to figure out my weird sense of humor?
Can someone set me straight on trip writing protocol :teacher: or just confirm that I would be writing the report for an audience of 1 and don't bother? :hippie:

Based on this post alone I imagine your PTR would be very entertaining. So go ahead and write it. I will subscribe, and then me and my 53 personalities will be your audience. So right away you will have an audience of 53, just one of us at a time.
