I'm trying to find out if anyone has info on the Christmas Parade they're filming on Sat Dec 4th? Where can I find out more about it (what the crowds will be like, whether I should avoid MK that day etc).

:goodvibes
OK, I must admit that I am clueless most of the time. :guilty: This is the first I've heard of a parade filming. :confused3 Anybody???? :confused3

I read this on the Filming Christmas Parade and another thread... It is not on the Trip Planner site?? :santa:

The first weekend of December is also the taping of the Christmas parade so loads of day guests as well as resort guests - that weekend at the Mk tends to be very crowded - this yr we moved our trip to arriving Dec 9 - a few yrs ago we arrived the same day it was the end of POP Warner Week too (this yr as well), but should be fine. We'll be at Poly and have no concerns.

:scared1: That is a MK day for us. Oh well, we usually go in June, hopefully it wont be any more crowded than it is then. At least it wont be hot. :thumbsup2

Reservation made at Fort Wilderness Campground. We will be there Dec 5th to the 26th. Can't wait !!

it will be extremely crowded on Main St but the rest of the park won't be too bad.

Have you watched it on TV? it's wall to wall people

That is our arrival day so I am hoping the parade taping will be done by the time we get there

Get a good place to watch the parade and wave at all the cameras!! Then watch yourself at home when they play the Christmas parade on TV!!
Someone said there will be "big name" entertainers there... Maybe you'll see the Jonas bros. or Selena Gomez or whoever is hot these days!! LOL :lmao:

We're scheduled to be at Epcot that morning for the Princess Breakfast princess: then later, the Mousetacular Illuminations thingy that night... I honestly think it would be fun or at very least interesting to be at the MK for the parade that day!!! I'll bet you enjoy it, hope you do!! :goodvibes

I just about had a heart attack! :scared1: I logged in to add a celebration to one of my ADRs and got a message saying I HAD NO RESERVATIONS! :scared1: I seriously wanted to CRY!

I guess there was a glitch in the system. I logged out, waited about 15 minutes and logged in again. YAY - my reservations were BACK! WHEW!!! :faint:

IS the parade filming really on the 4th? We will be there but that was going to be DHS day! Hmmm.. should we try and go or not worth it??

EXWDWCM We were also not on the list
*Meagan* were going december 3rd-10th currently at SSR
MVMCP on 12/3
thanks!

Originally I wanted to do MK that day. I've been thinking about going to DHS instead for the EMH on Sat. Now I'm not too sure.

The parade would be really great to see, but from what I've read it's very crowded and not very much like a real parade at all. A lot of different takes, floats sitting for a while etc. So with my 2 young kids I'm just not sure if it's worth it. Plus, Main St is very crowded, but when they're done filming (I've read it's around 2pm?) all the people who were crowding Main St are released into the park and it's crazy busy.

I was hoping someone knew some more than the little I was able to find out. ;) But hopefully my little contribution helps you all a tiny bit :)

Now I have to refigure my ADRs..

I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. I made reservations for Tony's that Saturday evening. Not sure if I feel like battling the parade crowd for dinner.

I think you actually have to have a special ticket to be a part of the parade taping, not just anyone can stop on Main street and participate, but that is only something I read here over the last couple of years.

Suzanne

For the parade taping, there is a separate registration for the event that entitles guests to free park admission, as long as they commit to being in the audience for a specified number of hours. For any other general admission guests already in MK, you are welcome to go and watch the parade being filmed, you just won't get the free admission (nor will you be required to keep smiling for the cameras for hours!). Here is a link to the logistics of it from last year: http://thedailydisney.com/blog/2009/10/2009-walt-disney-world-christmas-day-parade-taping.

We're super excited to have our first Disney Christmas 11/28 - 12/4! By leaving in Nov. we're able to get around DH's work policy of no vacation in December. We're staying at AKL and celebrating our 14th anniversary. We have tickets for MVMCP on 11/30.

I'm super excited! We've been planning our third year in a row for a Disney Christmas vacation, but now we've saved enough money to stay on property. Soooooo, I just got our packet in the mail today. We're staying 10 days at POP Dec 16-26.

The full holiday lineup for WDW has been released. Nothing new from previous years. No sign of Lights of Winter returning.

Grrr....the Disney Press Release says to call for Candlelight Processional bookings, which would indicate they are now available. So I just talked with Disney through their online chat and they said, yes, CP bookings opened up yesterday. They told me I needed to call the dining number to reserve.

So off to the WDW-DINE number I went, only to be told that bookings have not opened up yet.

Really, Disney?? Why do they toy with us so??

I just called too and they said no not open yet. The CM on the computer was probably thinking of Food and Wine reservations.

Just called them back again to say there is a press release. CM took a lot of time and checked and double checked. She said No not open until the end of July.

I saw that press release too. The PR states to call WDW-DINE to book your CP package. So I called. They still are not booking ADR's for CP. :sad1: I explained that I saw the PR and it said we could call to book, but she insisted they haven't been given any details yet. Oh well, I tried...:rolleyes1

Yeah, the CM on the phone said the CM on the computer may have meant Food and Wine as well. However, our chats back and forth clearly stated CP and the CM on the chat even gave me the narrator list that corresponded to the bookings. So they knew we were discussing CP. Oh well.

By the way, the narrator list is still the same one with the same dates missing.
