I can not wait for december but I definitly do not want to wish the summer away!

Im working on a ton of DIY gifts and pre travel packages for my young cousins! And Im soo excited. The DISigners on the forum are FABULOUS!!!!!!

Hows the planning going for everyone?!

I'm working on travel packages for our kids and nieces and nephews too, and also making penny money containers and autograph books. It's a lot of fun, isn't it? I just love the Creative DISign board!!

I'll be down December 12-17th! As of right now, I'll be traveling SOLO and probably staying at Pop Century. I'd love to meet some of you down there. :)

So excited just bought DD #1 her park tickets!! 2 more to go and that is covered. We have GC's bought to cover half our meal plan! We are more then half way there for getting it all paid for. Makes it seem so real and means we are getting closer. I've been such a good girl with saving for this trip. Last year we didn't start until Oct. Now just over 5 months before we leave YEAH!!!

4 Canadian newbies, all super excited to be going to WDW for the FIRST TIME!!!!!

December 8 - 18... (and the monsters get off school to boot, woohoo)

Caroline in Toronto

Welcome to the disboards CarolineInToronto! And welcome to our December trip thread! I'm glad you found us! Where are you staying at WDW?

I've been thinking about a Sleigh Ride. Is it worth a trip to FW just for that? We always take a horse drawn carriage ride at Thanksgiving here at home, since we'll have just done that the week before we go to Disney, I'm not sure if it would really be very different. :confused3

Have you read Emma's (disneybarbie) posts about the sleigh ride? That's what convinced me. And I've read a lot of comments about the decorations at WL....so we booked dinner at Whispering Canyon followed by a sleigh ride...very Christmasy! :santa:

No I haven't read about it. Where can I find her comments? :confused3

We have a dinner booked at WCC, too. Hmmm... I might have to re-think this. :scratchin

I have reservations at HDDR that night so since I was going to be at FW I thought it would be fun, from what I have read its very decorated around the campground. I had toyed with the carriage ride at POR since I am staying the first 3 nights at POFQ but that sounded rather blah compared to christmas decorations, more on the romantic side............I am going to be taking my mother on the trip, not in need of romance :)

My wife bought me the first two books last year for Christmas. By the middle of February I had finished reading all seven, and got lucky when ABC Family channel had a Harry Potter weekend, so I got to see the first six movies. Now I am waiting for part 1 of the 7th book to come out in theaters.

I will probably get to the Harry Potter thing at Universal someday, but but will wait for the newness to wear off a bit.

I'm starting book 2 tonight! I hope to be finished with them all before our trip!!! :goodvibes I hope it wont be too crazy at Universal in Dec. I can't wait to see it! :wizard:

Yes sooo much fun!! I just set up an alchemy on etsy to have someone do my t-shirts/sweatshirts for their packages! Im soo excited!!!

I am going to do pre trip packages with a long sleeve shirt for each girl that says their name on the front and then "Were headed to Disney" on the back. Countdown calenders, letters from mickey and the gang and something else just not sure what else.

Then for when they get to Dis. Im going to have packages for everyone (adults too) with shirts.

For kids: Autograph books and pens, disney dollars, welcome letters from someone, some fun treats, lip gloss/chapstick and not sure what else.. Im soo open for ideas!

:wizard: Around 2002 my daughter expressed an interest in the Harry Potter books, I got the first one and read it out loud to her... I was a little concerned they would conflict with our religious beliefs but I didn't feel that way at all... It is no more evil than Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty... We all need a little escape!!

Anyway... That said, we re-read the first one, then I read her the second and so on! Now, we have all the books, got the last few at midnight openings! Of course we go to all the movies - then buy them. My DD16 is a huge fan with a life size Harry in her room... She really wanted Draco but we could not find him!! LOL

We are going to go to US to see HP for 2 days in Dec squeezed in between our 10 days at Disney!! LOL

I am still nervous about the waits but we are going on Tuesday and Thursday Dec. 7 & 9 with hopes that that time will be particularly light... HOPING!!! A friend of hers told us horror stories but with it being BRAND NEW and Summer on top of that... It can only get better, right??

Do you think the Pop Warner :cheer2: will reach over there? Any other ideas or suggestions?? Thanks!!

Just some more suggestions. This is what we've done in the past--on the day we leave for Disney, we would tie a Disney character balloon to our mailbox and then let our daughter stumble upon it. She would open the mailbox to find a note from Disney. For example, we had a Minnie balloon and then a note from Minnie that read something like, "Can't wait to see you soon..." Then when we arrived at Disney and got our keys, I would quickly go to the room before my husband and children. We would tell them we were racing to see who got their first, but my husband would purposely take longer so that I could enact out plan! I would go inside the room and put gifts from Minnie on the table inside. There would also be a note that said something like, "So happy you are here!"

I know you can contact Disney's florist and have them leave presents in your room, but we can do it for so much cheaper!

Have you checked out the DISign board here on the disboards? They do a great job from autograph cards to tshirt designs and everything in between.

I always make my own shirts for us to wear at least once while on vacation and this past April I made an autograph book for each of my children. The characters really loved seeing their own page.
