Well DVC accidentally posted the wrong dates for the Merry Mixer. They posted 2009s they say they are still planning this years so we will have to see when it is.

It is held at the international gateway by where the boat dock is. Its pretty cool my kids had a blast. Its just a little party for DVC members and their guests. They had a DJ last year who played games with the kids. Pluto was dancing with the kids last year. They had Mickey and Minnie and Chip and Dale out for pics with a photopass person. They were in their Christmas gear. They gave out free rice krispy treats and had free juice and water. Main thing for us was buying all the new DVC pins.When you left each family got a DVC ornament.

No not yet. Of course the dates they posted would have been perfect for our touring plans.Now its going to be on a date where I have an important ADR or something else planned. LOL

I think, right now, with all the computer issues it would be better to call them. I don't think the computer system will be back up all the way until after the 20th of Oct.

We just made a last minute change and I mean last minute. We went from WL to ASMovies per our 3 year olds request. Fine with me we were paid off so we got a $500 credit to our room (our choice) so I don't even have to worry about saving extra money WOOT

DS and DIL had already planned 2nd anniverary trip 12/11 - 12/18 (they were married at WDW 12/15/08) - their sitter for my grandson fell through so I said I'd take the time off from work and watch him - DS said, well, why don't you drive down and join us?? Well, had to think REAL HARD about that for about 1/2 a second!! So Tyler and Grandma will be at ASMovies 12/13 - 12/18 (driving down and back in stages). He'll be 15 months old on 12/19 and starting walking this month (RUNNING now!).

Since my other DS will NOT be coming home for ANY holidays due to impending deployment (3rd one); to Afghanistan this time (boo!), and DD has to work over Christmas in Duke transplant Lab, was not looking forward to Christmas this year, so this trip has got me in the Holiday Mood again!

Got a GREAT deal with the dining plan and am SO excited!! Can't wait to see all my favorite sights and Christmas decorations through his eyes!

UPDATE: DD WILL not only be home for Christmas (but not Thanksgiving) but she's joining us at Disney! Not sure if the entire stay or just part of it depending on how much vacation time she can get approved but turning into a whole (almost) family trip! Just wish DS2 wasn't in Afghanistan and could join us then!! But he'll be with us in spirit!

I haven't heard anything yet, but it should be soon. I believe, last year, registration began around October 22nd or so.

Oooh!! I just saw that the D23 Magic and Merriment event info is finally up! Bummer. Their schedule doesn't really coincide with ours, so it looks like we won't be doing it. We already have tickets to MVMCP and the CP (to see Steven Curtis Chapman), and I wouldn't want to switch to see Whoopi. Bummer!

We are going the 10-16th.

So far, our schedule is this:

12/10 - LeCellier 6:30 PM - stay for EMH and Illuminations at Epcot (we are going to be TIRED though)

12/11 - Tusker House 10:20 am

12/12 - Chef Mickey 7:15 am

12/13 - Crystal Palace 4:45 PM (may cancel) - stay for Parade and Wishes

12/14 - Whispering Canyon Cafe' 5:15 PM - Head to MVMCP

12/15 - Mama Melrose 4:15 PM - Stay for Fantasmic

12/16 - Crystal Palace 11:30 am - head home

I decided to switch two of our days around. Instead of Christmas Eve at Epcot, we will do MK and then Epcot on Christmas day. I think we could handle MK on Christmas day, but decided to play it safe. So our updated ADRs are:
Dec. 24-Liberty Tree Tavern 11:45am, I would have preferred a dinner res., but the only later reservations were pretty much just for the plaza and I don't think my brother would have eaten much if anything from there.
Dec. 25-Biergarten 4:25
Dec. 26-Sci-Fi 4:10
Dec. 27-Tusker House 5:20

I did not make one for the 23 as that will not be a park day, me and DMwill be going to WWOHP, probably using Mears Transportation, while DD and DB golf. Then in the afternoon/evening we will probably do DTD. I also did not make one for the 28 since I'm not sure which park(s)? we will be at.

We live 45 min away, and my parents are coming to visit. We will go 1/2 the week while my parents go every day. I have made a few reservations for the days we are going with them.

My parents are insisting they don't need reservations. They may see what they can get into that day or just eat at CS restaurants. I am a big planner... they aren't.

only 3 of my 8 ADRs are showing up. same as the other day. I am going to wait until after the next update is done, which is what- on thursday? then i might start panicing come the weekend if they are still gone and finally call.

Today is my first day back on this thread since Oct. 6th. I had to call 911 on the morning of the 7th when my DH passed out. He is still in the hosptial and we are praying that they finish checking things out and he'll get home next week. Numerous tests have been done and some problems identified and are being addressed. We had a praise when a biopsy report came back as negative. A picc line was implanted today to administer IV antibiotics. There is still a chance we will not have to cancel our WDW trip but we're close to our 45 day countdown decision date. I may be looking into scooter rentals if we are able to go.

9 of our 14 ADR's disappeared but I just spoke with a cast member who was able to pull all of them up.

My friends on the AKL thread have been sending prayers, thoughts and pixie dust our way.

i am so sorry- sending lots of prayers and pixie dust. i know how scary that can be- my uncle passed out at my house in May and stopped breathing- was officially dead. They somehow brought him back and after two weeks in ICU and a special ice treatment to prevent brain injury, he is now alive and enjoying life to the fullest! Hoping for a quick recovery!!!

We are headed to the World December 21-26th. It will be our 2nd trip and we are staying at All Star Movies with the free dining plan. (upgraded to the DDP)

We usually spend Christmas Day at home, but since we are driving (wow! on the airfare this time of year!) it worked out that we will be at the parks. New tradition, maybe?

We are spending Christmas Day at HS, with evening dinner reservations at Mama Melrose's and the Fantasmic Dinner package.

Super excited to find a thread of others going in December! I can feed my planning addiction, since my husband doesn't seem interested....
