I know what you mean! We've been calling DS "tootie" while he was playing the clarinet, now he's moved up to "saxie". I told him that was like sexy - but better!

LOL! You all are a riot. You took me back to when I was 8 years old and drove my poor mother crazy with learning how to play clarinet. She kept telling me I sounded like somebody kept kicking a cow. I was like mooooooom! Well about 8 years after that I was invited to play at Disney with their HS group and that experience really prompted me to stick with it.

Well, Im glad I stuck with it because 30 years later and 2 music degrees later, I still play semi-professionally, teach in my community and gives me a tad bit of sanity from my day-to-day as a Technology Manager . You never know - you may have some future music pros on your hand!!

...when we arrived and we were told that when we checked in we had a balance of $1778! I was like for what?! a balance? and the 102 yr old woman checking us in said "yes a balance how would you like to pay for that!?" I was flabbergasted. Reminded me of the woman on DVC phone line saying "Yes ma'am your reservation has been cancelled.. what would you like me to do about it" (I could have rung her neck!)

I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but made me LOL!

That is SOOOO cool!!!!

I played clarinet too. Some of my favorite memories are of marching down Main Street, USA in the afternoon parade.

Our trip is looking up, Dh had a job interview this morning and it sounds very promising and they are already closed on Dec 24th and 25th, so we could still at least go down for a couple of nights. That would give us 2 full days at the parks and a half day at DTD beofre heading home. We have gone for a shorter time than that.

I hope we hear a definite answer by tomorrow. And he is now an Army Reservist and should have his ID either tomorrow or next week and then we can go on post and get our discounted park tickets.

One more project to get finished for school, laundry to get done, packing next weekend and getting my nails done. We also have to get shot records and such for our dog so we can get her boarded the day before we leave. We are boarding her at the Pet hotel (affiliated with Petsmart). My fiance made her reservation and when they were telling him that she could get a room with a tv that she could watch Lassie on and a big pillow to lay on. My fiance joked, 'You and Lizzy can go to Disney. I'm staying at the pet hotel" .

I just got back from the post office, sent off a nice package of gifts to open upon arrival, and called the hotel to put in a small room request! Only 8 days untlil I am at Disney!

It's bitter sweet knowing that there are only a few more days of checking this board before our trip. I get so depressed after returning that I can't even think about coming back here for at least a few weeks.

But none of that stuff now, only 6 more days to go!

Down to 5 days and we have soooo much to do before we leave..yet, here I sit!

Did our on-line check in today and that was a great feeling. I haven't read any horror stories about lost reservations, missing DDP, or keys that were not working in the past day or so. Hope that means any problems with the updated system have been fixed-- although there is yet one more scheduled update before our Dec 19th trip.

Am I the only one with only a few days before leaving for WDW and have done nothing but... ??

I have to work every day until we leave, but I have to find the time and energy to get things done!!! Happy travels for all of you on your way! Hopefully we will see you there in a few days!

Cool! I really hope we see you there! My DS would love to talk band with your DD. He is in 6th grade, too. His band director makes them start with clarinet then audition for sax. The audition was CRAZY hard! DS said that he was shaking so hard he almost dropped his clarinet. He really was worried that he blew it, but he actually got FIRST CHAIR!

Look for us! It will be me and my 3 boys (DH, DS11{taller than me} and DS9). I've still got to make a tag for our backpack. At MVMCP we'll be wearing our UNC Santa hats.

Have a safe trip and thanks for the tip about your UNC hats! DD 11, DS 5 and myself will be wearing black shirts with a green Disney fabric Mickey head with a Santa hat. I made them! We also have Mickey headbands that have ears with a red Santa hat in the middle! Also look for a wheelchair or ECV for me-I've had back surgery and can't do all the walking!

It is 5:15 pm here in Colorado! WHICH MEANS I am officially on VACATION!!! Heading up to Denver within the hour...try to sleep...rise at the dark o hour head to airport... hopefully get a few zzz's in and then ready to see my favorite place!

Was able to get checked in via phone.. thank you for that advise. And obtained my boarding pass printed out and ready to go! Hope to see some lime green mickey's!

I hear you! It's funny because I have sooooo much to do to get Christmas organized, not to mention get all of my classes to a logical point before they go on Christmas vacation AND get ready for this trip - but what am I doing? Paying particular attention to the weather forecast!!!!

PS: beautiful picture several posts up!!!! I played clarinet too (and piano), but moved into musical theatre. Now I wish I'd continued!!

I can't believe I just now found this thread! We leave one week from today - a group of 31 staying at BLT! Our gift to the family for Christmas. Can't wait. We saw the shirt design that we are all wearing for one day for our pictures this evening and they are so cute! All of us are flying in on the 16th - except for my son and his family. They are driving down from MS with the granddaughters. One family group is coming from California. Some have never flown, some have never been out of Oklahoma!

Can I say how excited we all are! I guess that's why I haven't found this thread - we have been too busy to be on here!
