**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

24 days!!!
We got our American Money yesterday! Actually had to go to 2 different banks b/c the first was out - the exchange rate is just so awesome right now!

And we put up our christmas tree, DH's idea!

Glad to hear that! My DH is crazy for Christmas and we are putting the tree and all the other decor up today. (I made him wait until after Halloween. :rotfl2: The lights are going to wait a few weeks, so the neighbors don't think we've lost it. It helps that we are having a cold snap in Texas. Morning temps in the 40's. High of 70! :rotfl: Puts me in da mood (for Christmas :santa:)

40 days now for me! My boyfriend came home with a minature Mickey Mouse stocking he discovered while grocery shopping. He told me to hang it in my car so that I can think about the trip on my long drives to classes and internship. I debated if it's too early to put up a Christmas decoration, but when I read that a Christmas tree is being set up, I figured I had justification. :)

am I down to 25 days yet??????

eta: YES WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

our plans changes have changed, instead of my younger brother joining us, he is going to stay home & ...not have fun? anyway! our ADRs have 3 people on them, but now it was only be myself & my mother. also, i forgot to add (to the in-park restaurants) that my mother will be in a wheelchair. Can I call disney dining and have them fix those, or will I have to cancel:scared1: :confused3

i hope they can just fix them...and at least I won't be charged the 65 dollar fee like the resort...:headache:

Unless you had to prepay or use a credit card to reserve, I'd just show up with 2 people and say the 3rd was sick. you probably aren't going to be able to find the same reservations with one less person.

do you know if there is any room outside of the restaurants like the rides, for wheelchairs in case there isnt enough room for my ma's wheelchair. She doesnt mind walking to the table and sitting in a chair, she's using a wheelchair for the parks. also, i ask because i dont want someone to move or steal her chair:confused3 thanks for your advice!

Ok all my December Dis'ers, I need help! I'm trying to find some Disney music for my iPod. I want mostly preschool stuff, no Hannah Montana or tween stuff. I would like Playhouse Disney stuff, movie songs, songs from parades or parks, classics, stuff like that. I want to start playing it now for my boys so we can all get in the spirit and have it for the trip down there. Is there any place I can find all of this or has someone purchased a good compilation cd??
i have this set:
http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Disney-Vol-Years-Musical/dp/B000001M26

there are 3 volumes and it is great- all the classics- from cinderella, sleeping beauty, mickey mouse club, bedknobs and broomsticks etc.

I have another set too, but can't find it online- it came in a blue box- another set- was pretty pricey, but has all the classics too. My sister downloaded a ton of the park music back in the napster days. You can buy a lot of the park music CDs at the parks- and you can also download/buy some online- i listen to live365.com and search disney. i listen to mouseworld radio, DIS radio, parkhopper radio and more disney stations- you can click on songs and see if they are available for download as you listen too.

Okay, I am a little late jumping in the threads, but I only discovered this morning that there's a place where other people talk about their excitement for a December WDW vacation.

My name's Alicia, and it has been five long years since I have visisted Walt Disney World. I had planned to go three summers ago and when that didn't work I moved the date to last year. Unfortunatly, those plans fell through as well. I thought I'd never go back.

However, my boyfriend promised me a vacation that I could plan entirely. He had told me we could go someplace in May, but he got deployed last February. When he returned at the end of this summer, I thought to myself, what better place to escape after a long tour of duty than Walt Disney World?

Since we had to work around my college schedule, I initially picked December out of convience. But the more I thought about it, the more I remembered my last trip to Epcot and witnessing the Christmas Around the World. Now, I cannot wait to see the festivities in all four parks and watch as my boyfriend sees it all for the first time.

Because he's military and we need to save money wherever's possible, we're staying at the Shades of Green Resort, which I am very excited about. I have seen the pictures on their website and the rooms and landscape look gorgeous.

I can't believe I am going to be at Disney in 41 days. (We're going Dec.17-Dec.21) I remember back in August having a countdown in the hundreds and thinking that December would never arrive. Now, it's only a month away!

*I apologize for the extremely long post, I tend be wordy and ramble. :)
welcome and thank you to your BF for his service!! you have come to the right place! :rotfl:you will have a great trip!!!

i would see if you can find other ADRs online available for the same time, for 2 people. If so, book it and cancel the others. otherwise, i would just show up. it's not big if you have fewer people, especially one. it might be hard to change it now, so just show up and it won't be a big deal. we had that happen where someone would get sick or couldn't make it and it was always fine. :wizard:

thank you for your input! there are only a few that i couldnt re-ADR for, like the biggies-chef mickey's, liberty tree, 50's. so i will say he was sick. but i'm glad i was able to fix most.

now, for the candlelight, i should call, would they charge me 20 for him not showing?

woo hoo- 26 days!!! and only 18 work days! we can't wait.

so this weekend we went to the grand opening of the new disney store in Dallas at northpark mall. It wasn't as large as I expected. There was a huge crowd because Mickey was making an appearance for photos (no autographs) from 12-4pm. There was a line setup to even get in the store and a separate line to see mickey- it was about 100 deep easy when i got there at 11:30. so we skipped that, we'll be dining with mickey in under 30 days anyhow- why wait 100 deep when we won't have to wait at all or just for a few at disney!

The wait to get in the store wasn't bad. they gave out free mouse ears to everyone, plus a goofy's candy store lollipop and a rubber keychain. The store itself was nice- it had the interactive video trees, which were very cool- alternating between falling leaves, snowflakes and even presents! There was the castle area where you could see a princess in the mirror, but we didn't get to try it out. There was a movie area too set up like a gazebo. Then a small little mickey mouse playhouse for toddlers to crawl through and press buttons. there was also the cars area for kids to 'build their own' remote control car. It wasn't a huge area, probably room for 3-4 kids at once to do it.

My mom bought a bunch of stuff- including some christmas pajamas for Will and a christmas stuffed mickey. I also got some aluminum water bottles- a tink one for Lindsey and a mickey for Will for the trip. It will fit nicely in his stroller. She also got a free disney store tinkerbell pin for her purchase (she was on the store list and got a special invite and offer for the pin).

It was fun checking out the new store and getting a few fun supplies for our trip!

I have my backpack almost all packed and the suitcase is out and I have started throwing stuff in it - bathing suits, a William is 3 t-shirt with mickey on it etc.

I also found these cuties at WalGreens for $3 each!

The expression on your little boy's face is precious! I am a little jealous about the store.

Those are adorable! I love the bow on the pink hat.

I hit the thirties today! 39 more days. It just got cold where I live last night, and it was the first time I had to throw pants on. It finally made me feel like winter is coming, and my vacation is getting closer.

I love the Mickey/Minnie ears . Are they adult size or child size? :confused3

yes, and beats paying $15 for something similar at the parks.
