**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

I posted this on our other December thread, so I'll repost here:

Parade information has still been quiet, but the following information is from the Chip and Co website:

"Thanks to all of you who’ve emailed and commented on Facebook about the Disney Christmas parade taping. We now have several hundred of you on a mailing list and we’ll notify you personally as soon as we hear anymore details. As of right now, I don’t have anything new to report, but I wanted to let everyone know that we haven’t forgotten about you. Again, here’s what we know:

The parade is on 12/3-5. The 5th, which is a Sunday, is a make up day. Last year, the Jonas Brothers performed on that day, so if you can’t get tickets for the other days, you may still see some of the parade taping on Sunday.

Tickets last year were distributed by an outside company. In late October, Disney announced that tickets were available and you signed up. After a couple of weeks, confirmation emails were sent out and you picked your day(s), emailed Disney back, and showed up for the parade. The shifts were four hours long and you could pick two a day. This year, Disney is apparently doing it themselves and we don’t have any information yet."

So they started filming parts of the Christmas parade footage at DL

see the blog

still don't see any info on when they are sharing details on the WDW filming on Dec 4th weekend.

:thumbsup2 It's exciting to see they have at least begun the DL taping. I can't see WDW being too far behind. Thanks for posting!

As much as I would love to attend the taping of the parade, I don't think my grandparents would last for the four hour long stints!

Does this event make the MK busier or disrupt the park at all?

do you know if there is any room outside of the restaurants like the rides, for wheelchairs in case there isnt enough room for my ma's wheelchair. She doesnt mind walking to the table and sitting in a chair, she's using a wheelchair for the parks. also, i ask because i dont want someone to move or steal her chair:confused3 thanks for your advice!
Does your mother's chair fold? Most wheelchairs do. If so, you should be able to store it near the host stand or your table.

thank you for your input! there are only a few that i couldnt re-ADR for, like the biggies-chef mickey's, liberty tree, 50's. so i will say he was sick. but i'm glad i was able to fix most.

now, for the candlelight, i should call, would they charge me 20 for him not showing?
Yes, for the Candlelight package, they are likely to charge the $20. I'd call about that reservation.

I am wondering about this also. We may have to change our schedule, depending on how this effects the park.

apparently the park is busy at least in that area- in fact, they sometimes escort guests back stage to enter the park if you aren't doing the taping (to keep you off main street). I hear the other lands aren't that crazy in the am at least, but by afternoon/evening, i think it gets pretty busy- imagine all those people coming for the parade taping and when their shift is over, they probably stay and hang out all night.

we are avoiding the MK like the plague on the 4th. However, we are heading in on the morning of the 5th- hoping there isn't rain so they don't have to tape on the 5th!

I am praying for no rain too because our mk day is the 5th also. Thanks!

We are heading to MK on both the 3rd and 5th - no way around it. I hope it doesn't rain either so the 5th won't be too bad as that is our long day in the park. On the 3rd I am okay heading back to the hotel and lunch at CRT if it is too bad.

So tonight is the first MVMCP of the season!

And...

Here's the map !!

Ooh, thanks, that's awesome!

I actually subscribed to the November thread and asked that any early MVMCP attendees let everyone know if they were allowed admission at 4pm. I had a number of CM's tell me they were restricting admission to 7pm this year. Hopefully, we'll find out for sure, soon!

That map is awesome. Thanks for posting it. But now it's a double edged sword. I now know where all the goodies are. But I am really starting to get the anticipation shakes. :scared1:

Yes, call if you have booked the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package to tell them there will only be 2 of you instead of 3. I'm fairly certain that when I booked ours part of what was read to me was that this required a 48 hour cancellation notice or else you will be billed the FULL amount (not just $20.)

BTW, exactly 5 weeks from today we will be eating an early dinner at Le Cellier before going to the 6:45 pm show!
