**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

ME TOO!

When I squealed MICKEY MAIL, I thought DH's eyes were going to roll out of his head! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I received mine today also!!!! So excited it now seems real! Not much longer and will be in sunny Florida with Mickey and Friends!:yay: :cool1:

To those who want to put up your Christmas stuff go ahead. If you are Hindu, today is Diwali (not sure I spelled that right) so all my Hindu neighbors have lights on the house and porch. Many will also use Christmas trees to use for decoration too.

Now at to Mickey Mail, I won't get mine for a couple of more weeks. My TA has to get the documents first, make sure they documents are correct then get them to me. Luckily, my TA is a friend, so I have no worries.

I'm still waiting on my mail. We can't do much in the way of decorating before we go, because we have crazy cats, too. And a crazy dog. And the 21 yr old is staying home 'watching' them. I was going to try to at least get up everything but the tree before we go. Hopefully we'll at least get outside done.

Swimming; huh? I didn't think about that...

Totally love the Hannukah smilies. We are a mixed faith family so we celebrate both Hannukah and Christmas. This year I am kind of happy its early. The last 2 years its either been while we were at WDW or its started the weekend before we left. I felt like we didn't get to really celebrate it. I would have Hannukah dinner one night with my DH's family and Christmas dinner the next night with my family and it was just too much. So now I will get to have one holiday celebrated at a time.

We are exactly the same way, except this year we are going to WDW during the week of hanukkah...have to find some other weekend to celebrate it with DH's family! At least I don't really have to shop for Hanukkah, anything the kids get during our trip is their gift :cool1:

Is there a post or a thread somewhere that has everyone's "MUST DO" during December?? From what I have read, this is what I have on my list so far

Osborne Lights
MVMCP
Gingerbread house at Grand Floridian
AK Jingle Jungle Parade
Playhouse Disney Dance Party
Candlelight Processional
etc....

Should we put it in the first post??

EDITING....just found a thread!

Yeah, we're pretty much gone for all of Hannukah, too, so I guess we'll celebrate with my mom when we get back. DH isn't Jewish, but I am, and we like to do Hannukah and Xmas each year.

Our trip is now less than a month away, and no Mickey mail of any sort yet  However, we're using a TA, and I think that means she forwards the mail to us, right? Does that usually delay it?

The only mickey mail we got was the Magical Express tickets and luggage tags (at about 35 days til we leave)...the rest comes from our TA hopefully in the next week or so

5 weeks from today!

I'm on the lookout for some cheap window clings and christmas decorations for our resort room window. I went to Michael's, but they didn't have much! I guess there is still time for Christmas stuff :lmao:

I got most of my stuff at the dollar store, still on the lookout for Disney window clings

DH & I almost spilled the beans by accident today! We were on our way home from services, and DH was talking about his basketball team that he's organizing for the over 35 league. He mentioned that he's going to need a sub for the 2 games we're going to miss while we're out of town, and from the back seat our son asked "when are we going out of town?" we covered it because DH's family is Christian and we spend Christmas in his hometown every year. :rolleyes1

That was close and we're going to have to watch ourselves if we want to keep this a surprise. His teacher also was very glad when we told her it was a surprise because she knows him so well, and he'd be antsy in class until vacation. Fortunately we're not going until after Hannukah, because he's in the Hannukah concert at his school and we're involved in several Hannukah programs in our community. Plus I love Hannukah. Any holiday devoted to eating fried food is fine with me!

Hi all!

Quick question - If I have a request to make of the hotel (we're at CBR and would prefer a ground floor instead of top floor) do I call and request that now or wait until check in? I've never requested an area since we're generally are happy just to be on vacation, but CBR has no elevators so... ;)
they actually don't like you calling usually- they want you to fax in your room request (unless you are DVC, then you can call and MS will make a note on your ressie). typically i would fax in my room request a week before (no more than 10 days) the trip. the more specific you are (asking for a certain room), the less your chance is of getting it- so put your request in priority - certain building, 1st floor etc. :thumbsup2

love that some of you are thinking of putting holiday decor up! I hadn't really even thought about it yet, but I do typically put it up the week of thanksgiving or weekend before. Since we leave on 12/4, the weekend right after Thanksgiving, I will probably put it up the weekend before thanksgiving, the 20th. or heck, maybe next weekend. LOL. We don't have cats (and after reading about the 'crazy cats' you guys have, i am happy i don't- we are allergic anyhow). i like to enjoy the holiday season, so i don't mind putting it up early. i'll wait until thanksgiving day to put up the outside stuff. but now you guys have me thinking about it. i have my 'disney tree' and so much disneys stuff- adding to my disney christmas village this year too- i have cinderella's castle, 7 dwarves house, pooh's tree etc. HOpefully get another one this year.

For some reason, I couldn't sleep this morning so I was up thinking about when I would put up my Christmas decorations since we are gone the 2nd-9th... on one hand, my mom is coming in town Thanksgiving and can help us out, on the other hand...I need her to watch the kids while I pack! Decisions...decisions

:santa: another month and a half until my second disney christmas, i can't wait to get there and see all the decorations and especially the osborne lights. :santa:

I think I'm going to make window clings - I did this for DD's soccer team and they turned out great! I've got to get some new ink cartridges though!:) We're heading to DD's soccer game down in Mass today and I'm going to stop in tax-free NH for some stuff! 45 days to go!!!!

We got our DME mail yesterday. I was singing and dancing like a fool for at least 10 minutes! Then of course I had to call hubby who is away for a trip and was singing to him "WE GOT MICKEY MAIL". He was laughing so hard.

I think today I will really make an attempt to get some more stuff packed. It's time to pull out suitcase #2 now! :santa:

and I add another dining reservation

apparently they moved the disney story time to Epcot over Magic Kingdom so we may as well have lunch afterwards

Story time 11:15 Norway
Chefs De France which is apparently my 7 year old's favorite place to eat in all of disney :confused3 12:30

I'm a bit late in joining in this fun thread...enjoying the tips regarding Christmas decorations from everyone. DH thinks I'm a bit much...but it doesn't matter since I'm the one that decorates anyway! :rotfl:

Got our ME packet already, tickets on hand, DS3's luggage is halfway packed with most of his early Christmas gifts that I've saved from previous months for the trip. Now, if I could just finalize my ADR's (stalking WDW online)...or more like leave them alone...I'M ALL SET! So excited!!!
