**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

We did too we are officially under 30 days so I felt like it was ok to start packing LOL. The toiletries are all set now just to pack summer stuff and bathing suits cold weather things will have to wait until the week before.

Thank You... I forgot to put bathing suits on my packing list:headache:

Still haven't recieved my DME docs and I am arriving 12/3! i am calling them today to check....

We still have 40 days to go, but I went ahead and got out ourDisney box of stuff I have been collecting for the past few (9) months! :lmao: I wanted to inventory all the stuff I have already bought Jack, and I do believe he is all set! I am doing little presents every day in a Buzz Lightyear stocking I got on clearance. I also got a few little coffee's for my dad, I just need to pick up a couple little things fro my mom and sister! I also got out our luggage and there are a few things already in it, (bathing suits etc) from our September trip. I am off Wednesdays and Thursdays, so I know that I only have the next 2 weeks to get everything done before Thanksgiving, and then 2 weeks after before our trip, and one of those weeks will be dedicated to recovering from having my wisdom teeth pulled... so really I only have 3 weeks to prepare! We won't put up Christmas stuff till right around Thanksgiving, and we are not getting a real tree this year. We aren't really celebrating Christmas at home, since all our Christmas money is going towards this trip. We aren't coming back till the 22nd, and I will be working, so we are doing all our celebrating at WDW!

I want to put my Christmas tree up, too! But my cats destroy it every year and they will be left here alone while we're on our trip. My mom will be coming over every day to feed them and play with them a bit, but I don't want to add redecorate the tree each day to that, lol. We've talked about not putting the tree up until after we get back on the 20th. I think we'll do all decorations, outside and in, except for the tree. It kind of bums me out but if you saw what my girls do to this tree each year you'd understand. I can only imagine the field day they'd have with it if they were alone for a week with nobody to stop their destruction!

Thank you all for the good wishes. I at least hope we can go even for 2 to 3 nights and cut out all our TS dining, except for Christmas Breakfast, but we will see.

Tru Blu, no way am I going to be happy or feel special at home for Christmas. My mom passed away in Aug 2008 and I was so sad and miserable at home that first Christmas and I am just not ready to be here this year either.

I feel ya, my mom passed away 3 yrs ago on December 18th.. 2 months before my wedding so Christmas is always SUPER hard for us. As much as I would love to crawl in a ball and not deal with any of it I know my mommy wouldnt want that for us and would be mad at me for ruining her favorite Holiday. She lost her mom when she was young too around Christmas so it was hard for her too but she always made Christmas amazing for us... so I have to do the same for my little one and DH :) Just remember that no matter where you are your mom is there with you sharing every moment with you on Christmas. So make it happy ones you can and want to remember :)

We haven't had Thanksgiving yet, and I was BEGGING my DH to get out the Christmas stuff as he was putting away the Halloween stuff. :lmao: He wouldn't do it!!!

I guess I'll give him until the weekend! Hehe... that's today, right?!?!?!? :lmao:

I'm the same way with my Christmas decorations. As soon as I can get them up, I will. And I get grief from EVERYONE in my family. Mom, pop, sis, cousins, distant uncles and they all say the same thing. "You can't put that up til after Thanksgiving." I turn around and throw our Irish heritage at them by saying "When I was in Dublin in early November a few years ago, they already had decorations out, wreaths on the lampposts and Christmas lights stretched between buildings over the streets."

They usually throw up their hands at the futility of trying to keep my Christmas spirit in check.

Ah, so I can claim it's my Irish ancestry that makes me want to start Christmas season early? Love it!

We always put our Christmas decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving. That won't be happening this year because we leave the Sunday after. I will have to much to finish up to put up the Christmas stuff so I think we will be finding a day in the next 2 weeks to get it all done. I don't want to have to worry about it since we won't get back here till around the 15th of December... And we must have a tree and decorations for Christmas!

I understand how you feel! This year, Chanukah begins on Dec. 1, so I feel like I should begin wearing my pins now, but it still seems too early! By the time the "holiday season" is in full swing, my holiday will be over! So here are my Chanukah smilies:

For those of you concerned about SCC and Candlelight Processional, you know that there are at least 2 people going during that time who don't care about it!

I know what you mean about Hannukah being so early. We're having our family Hannukah party on Dec. 4, so I need to be done with my shopping by then! Of course, my son's gift is already bought and paid for;) And because we're going to Disney, DH & I aren't going to exchange gifts.

I love the little smilies! Especially the menorah!

I'm a little jealous, we can't decorate for Christmas at home because our crazy cats will destroy everything and since our house is really old there is no power in the front so we can't evendo lights outside. :sad1:

We have our little table top tree that I bought for the room and we will set that up and decorate it when we arrive so at least I will get some decorations this year.

We are also not doing presents this year, we are counting the trip as our present.

24 days to go!

Totally love the Hannukah smilies. We are a mixed faith family so we celebrate both Hannukah and Christmas. This year I am kind of happy its early. The last 2 years its either been while we were at WDW or its started the weekend before we left. I felt like we didn't get to really celebrate it. I would have Hannukah dinner one night with my DH's family and Christmas dinner the next night with my family and it was just too much. So now I will get to have one holiday celebrated at a time.

Alright I need some serious help...

we have lunch ADR's for Mama Melrose and 50's Prime Time.. if you could only choose one.. you would choose...?????

Definitely 50's Prime Time! Mama Melrose has good food, but every time we've eaten there, we have terrible service!:sad2:
Love the atmosphere of 50's PT!!:cheer2:

So excited! We went last May and it was horrible! It rained almost the entire time we were this is our do over :)

Update on us

we switched to Pop. Kids started talking about past trips and they had raves for Pop and only OK reviews from POR... may as well give them what they want one last time before our baby becomes a number in the room.

Hi all!

I'm jumping in doing a little happy dance because I can't believe in only 25 days we'll be at Disney! :dance3:

I've received my ME stuff, but no hotel pack yet. I can't remember when that usually comes in?

I've totally gotten myself excited today because I organized all the kids goodies for their "Mickey" gift bags. I forgot half the stuff I bought over the last few months. :rotfl:

And yesterday I ordered new PJ's and shirts for them.

I can't believe its so close! My son has been watching out old home videos over and over and over and over and over (seriously though, it's getting old -if DH even THINKS about recording our ride through Small World this time I'll snap his recorder  ).

Quick question - If I have a request to make of the hotel (we're at CBR and would prefer a ground floor instead of top floor) do I call and request that now or wait until check in? I've never requested an area since we're generally are happy just to be on vacation, but CBR has no elevators so... ;)
