OFFICIAL December 2009!! Celebrating the Holidays.. ADR list page 41 :)

We will be there at the same time! We will be at POP though. Not sure on MVMCP yet though. We did it last time and my SIL doesn't really want to do it this time.

Beginning on Dec 19, you can see the Christmas parade daily at 12 and I think 3 and the holiday fireworks every night, no need to pay for the party then. That is what we are planning to do. We did pay for the party last year, because my cousin and her children had never done it and because it had changed since we last attended in 2006.

Is it worth it if we've never been before? :confused3

It really is. Being at night just sort of makes it more magical. We went on a Sunday evening (Dec 14, 2008) and there really was no crowd at all. The kids had a wonderful time.

We started with dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, with that Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner feel to the meal and then once we were finished the day crowd had been moved out and the party events had started and it was just a magical transition.

We got to see and do everything, because we pretty much skipped the rides, so we saw all the shows, the kids enjoyed the dance parties and we met lots of characters in their Christmas garb and don't miss the hot chocolate and cookies (which are only avail at the party). And it snows on Main Street during the parade.

We too are going in December... We will be at CB for the first time in a pirate room from the 4-7 and then the 7-12 at the swan and dolphin! We did MVMCP the past two years and are taking a break from it this year... At least we will get to do MNSSHP on opening night this year!

So Sunday wasn't that bad? We are going the 5-13 and I was looking at that Thursday..didn't want to do an AP/DVC night... I need to look again, I think the 6th is a party night also, just curious which night would be the best for us. I do NOT want to do a Fri/Sat night. What do ya'll think?

Which nights in early Dec are AP/DCV nights? Do they tend to be crowded? Are Fri/Sat parties busy, too?

That Sunday night wasn't bad at all, but I had heard all the parties during PW were really crowded. You have to think most locals will be getting ready for school and work on Sunday nights and the one we went to was a "Premium" night, so most people don't want to pay the premium prices.

The first time we went to a MVMCP was on a Tuesday night and it was a little more crowded than that Sunday night, but not bad at all.

I think the night we went was a AP/DVC night and it wasn't crowded, but none of the parties we have been to were crowded. I don't think they do Saturday night parties. We did MNSSHP on a Friday night and the park was almost empty, I had never seen so few people in the parks before.

My family of six will be there Dec 10 - Dec 15, staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins. I'm very excited - and very restless about finding out the hours and being able to make a few ADRs!

We're planning to cook out and eat many meals right at the cabin, and I've already been on the grocery-delivery site and started my grocery list! :goodvibes

I don't think we're doing MVMCP as it is SO expensive for my whole family to go and the littlest two wouldn't be able to stay up that late anyway. I feel like I'm a real minority, but I'm not crazy about the parties. We went to a P&P party a few years ago and one of my biggest memories was being stuck on the big boat ride for what seemed like forever but not really being able to see anything at all. We went to a MNSHP two years ago and it was a disaster - everybody was crammed under tents for literally hours during a torrential rainstorm that had most of the rides closed. When I even start thinking about spending ~$200 on tickets for one, I get tense. This time, while the parties are going on, we're planning to be hanging out at the campground, being at Epcot, or going to DTD.

Anyway, I am SUPER excited to see all the decorations and lights, especially the ones at DHS.

Our #1 goal is to avoid crowds as much as possible, so we won't be doing any parks with EMH or doing DHS on a Fantasmic day (fortunately, my second-oldest has already seen it and isn't worried about seeing it again and my oldest just doesn't have much interest in it at all).

So far we've booked room and air for 12/11-12/15 at the BC thanks to the code. Watching for info on a ticket price increase so we can order before it happens--maybe this weekend.

It'll be 5-year old DS's 3rd trip and 1-year old DD's 1st trip!

We love WDW in December! It'll be our 3rd Christmas trip. The decorations are awesome! I love the Candlelight Processional.

A AAA TA (mine is out on leave) finally got back to me and we have dropped Dec 16. We will still be at Pop Dec 17 thru 22 in a Preferred room @ Pop, but we now have the AP discount with QS Dining. It worked to be $193 cheaper than the Free Dining Pin I got in May.

I just found this thread and am looking forward to our second Disney Holiday in a row. We arrive 12/26 through 1/3 with DW, 2-DD's and DGD. My wife and I did the week after Thanksgiving last year and had a super great time. We stayed at POP and this year we are coming back to ASMu FS. Can't wait!!:woohoo:

We are going 12/26 and leaving 1/2! We are staying at ASMov but in the Mighty Ducks (hopefully. I put in a request) That way we are close to a pool but closer to the Food Court and bus stop for ASMu than the ones for ASMo.

I am looking for some help. I have a few days I cannot decide where I want to eat. So I want to hear where some of your favorite places are to eat. Please include resturants both at the resorts and at the parks. I also want to know why you enjoy that resturant. We are all getting closer to the 90 day mark when we can make our ADR. Thank you. Lois

We're having a little bit of a hard time deciding, too. Our "definites" are Le Cellier, Akershus, and Yak and Yeti...of those we've only been to Le C, and that's why we're going back! On our "maybe" list is 'Ohana (been there before and really enjoyed it, just hard to get there), Garden Grill, the Plaza, and Boatwrights since we are staying at POR.

Whatever we decide, I still feel like I'm missing out on ones we don't pick, but that a good excuse to go back, I guess! ;)

We have done Yak & Yeti and have found this one to be very good. Will do this one again. Le Cellier is one that we have not done yet but want to this trip. Akershus we did trip before last and had very slow service. Food was good but the meal tooK forever so most likely will not go back. We really really enjoyed the Garden Grill so that maybe an option to return. 'Ohana, Plaza and Boatwrights I may need to check into to see if we can add to this trip. Lois

Hi Everyone!!

I just subscribed to this thread because I am 99% sure we are going the week of Dec 7. DH and I have to make a decision asap!

It's a long story but we have $850 in free flight credit that has to be booked by mid Oct and we've been going back and forth on what to do. We went on our 1st Disney trip last Sept during free dining. We already went to the beach this year on vacation with my family and next year is the year for his familes big vacation so we weren't sure if we could squeeze in (afford) another trip.

BUT...I think we are going to be able to do it and I am so psyched!! It sounds so awesome there at Christmas time!

The free dining extension is what did it. Now we are just debating should we stay at a value (stayed at POR last time) to save a few bucks or just go for a moderate again?

What are your thoughts on Carribean Beach vs. Coronado Springs? We loved POR but want to try a different resort.

Also....we are debating on going from Sat to Sat - 7 nights or going from Mon to Sun - 6 nights. It would only save like $200 but the flight times and prices work out better on the Mon through Sun.

And what are your thoughts on getting the hopper? That would save us some money also. We got it last time and in the entire week we only used it 1 time. Our kids are 5 and 3 so we really can't hop around as easy as you could with older ones (stroller, etc..). I'm just worried if we don't get it then we'd really need it or something. And my thoughts are if we go Mon - Sun, we'll have 5 and a half days and we'd have less days to go back and hop around if we wanted.

Can't wait to join in!

Brandy Welcome to the group. We are going to be there a Thursday to Thursday (12/10 through 12/17/09). We also opted for Allstar Music it saves us about 375 which I can easily spend in the parks.

I'm glad you liked YnY....I've read mixed reviews, but I'm really excited to try it. If you've never done Le Cellier or 'Ohana, I'd definitely recommend both! We've never been to Garden Grill or The Plaza, but I read that GG has great character interaction, and The Plaza seems to get really good reviews as a good option for a "lighter" meal, so we are going to try it on the night we go to the Xmas party. More room for hot chocolate and cookies, right!?
