Official Dancing With the Stars: Spring 2016

Mark has been so much better with someone who can really dance...he makes up for the lack of Derek.
Mark usually gets paired with the very conservative Christian partners who may be good (like the Duck Girl) but are unwilling to act the character the dance dictates. I think that's one of the reason he choreographs so many *shimmies* because that's as crazy/sexy as his partners are usually willing to go. Paige is also a conservative Christian but she is willing to be the dancer the dance requires. I was somewhat shocked at her tango. OMG, that was HOT. She and Mark made love through that table. Yowsa! I LOVED it!

So, I think it's more that he has a partner who is willing to dance 100% than one who is hung up on how she feels she *should* dance.

I wondered the same thing.

And I thought that she missed the leap with Val, did anyone catch that?

.
Yep and several other steps, just before the leap. She lost her legs and couldn't keep up with Val.

When they said Ginger's name, I was hoping that she would get booed. I thought I heard a couple, but that may just be wishful thinking lol

Well, TB had to reiterate the first couple was in the finals..not leaving. I think, it's obvious that Ginger shouldn't have made it this far.

I thought he mentors younger kids to dance? On DWTS one time, they let him do a solo dance. Not one during the commercials, or right afterward, but a full dance for about 3-5 minutes. He was onstage with a bunch of kids as his ensemble dancers. At the end, he said something like he wanted to thank his kids (meaning the ensemble.) How he teaches them. Something else he said makes me think he really likes to mentor kids to dance.

Makes sense. He grew up with parents as pro dancers. They invited Derek & Julianne to come dance at their school for the summer, and they ended up staying for years, and with Mark, all becoming professional dancers themselves. So he knows what an impact starting to dance at a young age can do.

That's probably also why he gets the younger stars and more conservative stars.

I think not only all of this but Mark's personality too plays a huge role too.

I first noticed it when he was Bristol's partner in season 11. She and her family are very conservative Christians.
A few seasons later he had Candace Cameron Bure
Next season Duck Girl Sadie
Two seasons later, Alexa PenaVega
This season, Paige.

All very born again conservative women. I just find it interesting that those women all ask for Mark.

I wonder if some of the 5 million people that watch GMA are voting for Ginger? I'm sure they are being urged to. That could sure make a difference. But I agree that Wanye deserved it more. Ginger had a couple of really good weeks, but the last two have been just fair.

I am on 2 different boards that discuss DWTS and there is a grand total of ONE poster I can find who doesn't dislike Ginger. Who in the heck is voting for her?!? She should not be in the top 3.

well I was veryyyyyy surprised when Wanya got eliminated. :scared1:

I'm throwing all my votes to Paige, I like Nyle too so won't be disappointed in either of them winning. Can't believe Ginger is still there.

Well, I am happy with the 3 remaining dancers. I loved Ginger's Argentine Tango. Paige has really improved the most and she has become my favorite!

TC :cool1:

I knew Ginger was going far when one of the judges compared her to Bindi, they wanted to make her a favorite for some reason.
She is and never will be a Bindi Irwin.
I hate that this show is a popularity contest.
There are so many times the best dancer doesn't win, more times than they do win...... aggravating.

Paige is wonderful dancer and should win.

If the standard is best dancer, you are right. For me, personally, I'm never a fan of those people who have had significant dance training (like Paige). She danced from the time she was young until well into high school, with a mom who owned a dance studio. She SHOULD be the best dancer! I like the ones who have no dance training and still rise to the top, like Nyle. :-)

I'm so mad, I swear I don't know if I'm going to even watch the finals. Wanya was the best dancer last night (well, he and Paige) and he absolutely did not deserve to go home. I LOVE watching Wanya dance - it's an emotional experience every time. I like Paige, but I never really like someone with as much dancing experience as she has for the win.

Nyle is amazing, but not the best dancer in the group, and I don't hate Ginger the way most do, but she definitely did not deserve to move on before Wanya.

Ooohh there was just some awkwardness between Wanya and Val on GMA. Good! Val needs to know that we all know this thing is fixed!

I don't really care if it's Nyle or Paige, they are both very good. I like Ginger but, as the weakest of the remaining 3, I'm blaming her for Wanya going home :badpc:. Witch.

As for Nyle, I'm tired of Peta's unnecessary stunts on the dance floor that, for some reason I can't fathom, the judges have been lapping up. Last week we had the music stop so the audience could put themselves into Nyle's shoes and this week he blindfolded himself to "challenge" himself. I think he is viewing the show as his own little bully pulpit that deaf people can be awesome. He said in his package last night that studied to be a math teacher but that what he's doing now is more important (paraphrasing here). OF COURSE, deaf people can be awesome. Nyle is awesome. I want to be able to look PAST his deafness to see the wonderful dancer he is and the stunts just keep on focusing my attention back on his deafness.

As for Paige, her story about being bullied for being too pretty is getting on my nerves. You're a tomboy, you're athletic, you're pretty, you were a threat to some mean girls. :charac2: I was bullied and I know what it feels like, but I just can't work up a lot of sympathy for someone being bullied because they were too pretty and too good at what they do. And to move to get away from them? There must have been something else going on for her family to move away. The other thing that bugs me is that she has allowed this to define who she is: the little girl who was bullied who can now kick all of your butts. Meh. Add that she was a dancer and cheerleader for most of her life makes her the ringer in the competition which usually bugs me.

I no longer have a "horse" in the race since Wanya was eliminated last night. I voted for Paige last night because she had the 2nd best night behind Wanya. At least he went out on a high note.
