Official Dancing With the Stars: Season 18

I really feel for Candace and Mark. Poor Candace already has enough anxiety about the dancing every week, I can't imagine how it must be heightened thinking she may have to dance with a different partner. Such crappy timing for an injury like this!

I am pulling for a Meryl/Maks win and I really think they can do it. But who knows? This show has shocked and infuriated me before. My theory is that if Candace is eliminated tonight, Meryl and Maks should be able to pull it off but if Amy is somehow done tonight (which I highly doubt), James may get a lot of Amy's votes and surpass Meryl. Those Big Time Rush fans are no joke. They make me nervous!

I guess there is also going to be a Twitter contest tonight to see who gets to redo their freestyle tomorrow night. I predict that will go to Amy and Derek.

Well, of course. I just love to see her dancing while sitting on stools & tables.

That was good, but I am ready to see Maks freestyle. Has he ever been able to do one, I don't think he has but I can't remember.

I thought the same thing. Artem WHO??? But, then I thought, maybe Mark purposely picked someone unknown, so as not to steal the limelight from him, if that other pro has to dance for him. :p
actually he won the UK version of the show!

Just for the record, THIS is why I object to Amy getting the "inspiration card" every week. There is another dancer who lost her leg who inspires me more. Who I think of as a HERO. Her name is Adrianne Haslet-Davis. She is a Boston Marathon bombing survivor. She was a professional dancer before the bombing, just over a year ago.

I don't think anyone would have had a problem giving her a free pass to lay in bed for the next 3 years, feeling sorry for herself. But instead, she was one of the first survivors to get into physical rehab. Within 6 weeks, she was on my local news, being fitted with a prosthetic, which would help her get to her goal again of dancing once again. A team of MIT specialists and other pro-dancers helped design the dance leg she is currently using. This March, less than a year to the Boston Marathon bombing anniversary, she danced for the first time, in public, at a Ted Talk Conference. :worship: :worship: :worship:

Here are videos about Adrianne Haslet-Davis:

Amy Purdy, yes, is an inspiration. But she lost her legs at age 19. She's now 34, so she's had 15 years to not only mentally adapt to her disability, she's had that long to then turn it around to become a professional snowboarder. (She was snowboarding before she lost her legs to meningitis. And yes, she too, created specialized legs to help her snowboard, and to make snowboarding a sport at the Paralympics. In comparison this is Amy's past three years:

2014: Paralympic Winter Games, bronze; World Cup La Molina, 2nd; World Cup Big White, 2nd and 3rd
2013: World Cup Landgraaf, 2nd; U.S. Paralympics Snowboard Cross National Championships, 2nd; Paralympic test event for Sochi Games, 2nd; World Cup Kelowna, 2nd; World Cup Maribor, 2nd; NorAm Copper Mountain, 2nd; NorAm Twin Bridges, 2nd
2012: Para-Snowboard World Championships, 1st
2011: World Cup, Orcieres, France, 1st; World Cup, Lake Louise, Canada, 3rd

She spends her life balancing on her prosthetic legs, each day. Inspiring? Yes, of course, but to me, not to the level that the judges play up the "inspirational card" each week, and why she should be given extra passes during judging. Amy Purdy is not "disabled" by any stretch, other than the fact that she doesn't physically have two real legs. In my opinion, Amy is well beyond "disabled," for the purposes of judging DWTS.

They are sooooo good, can't to see the freestyle, I hope it's dramatic

I just don't James. At all. I sound like a broken record, I know. LOL Makes me said that he is the last guy left standing and not Charlie.

Maks and Meryl. Whoosh. Loved it. Fingers crossed for the freestyle.

I wonder if Mark will be able to do the lifts in their freestyle?

Didn't like Candace with the quick step. Maybe better than last time but not crisp. Sick of her period. Now off to be scored too high for her.

What a bunch of BS. Mark was obviously cleared earlier but he wore his sling so we all knew that he was hurt. Plus, Candice wasn't really very good. I saw her mess up at least twice. That was NOT a 27 point dance!

I saw her mess up too. The quick-step is about precision & matching your partner. When I saw their 9s, I thought, so will they be handing out 11s to the other dancers now?
