Official Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2020

DOUBLE ELIMINATION. . .

GOING HOME:

Johnny & Britt
Skai & Alan

Why didn't the judges get to vote for BOTH couples who got the boot?

I wonder if the judges will get the final vote?

Otherwise, ABC will be pushing Kaitlyn at us. And Nelly's hip-hop fans could be legion.
Oh, I had't thought about that. If the judges are the final vote then they won't get all the normal complaints about the voters having too much say or it being rigged or whatever. And, yes, it probably will be Nev. As long as it's not Kaitlin I'm ok with it.

Tyra Banks will walk out to “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters. For this week, each couple will repeat one of their favorite performances from earlier in the season with some new creative elements. Then, for the last element of competition, the couples will perform the most anticipated dance of the season—the fan-favorite Freestyle. In addition, Nelly will perform a medley of his greatest hits including “Ride Wit Me,” “Lil Bit” and “Hot in Herre” while his pro dancer Daniella Karagach dances with her husband, Pasha Pashkov. And Derek Hough will dance solo on the ballroom floor to “Let’s Fall in Love for the Night.” Also, a number of the couples who were eliminated earlier in the season will return to the ballroom.
In show, viewers will get a sneak peek of the remaining season of “The Bachelorette” with Tayshia and a first look at Matt James as “The Bachelor.”

  • Kaitlyn Bristowe (“The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette”) and pro Artem Chigvintsev will repeat their Argentine Tango to “Toxic” by Britney Spears, then a Freestyle dance to “Sparkling Diamonds” from “Moulin Rouge”
  • Actress Justina Machado (“One Day at a Time”) and pro Sasha Farber will repeat their Cha to “Respect” by Aretha Franklin, then a Freestyle dance to “Let’s Get Loud” by Jennifer Lopez and “Bamboleo” by The Gypsy Kings.
  • GRAMMY®-winning rapper Nelly and pro Daniella Karagach will repeat their Samba to “Rhythm of the Night” by DeBarge, then a Freestyle dance to “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion and “Hypnotize” by The Notorious B.I.G.
  • TV host Nev Schulman (“Catfish”) and pro Jenna Johnson will repeat their Paso Doble to “Black Swan Swan Lake” by District 78, then a Freestyle dance to “Singin’ in the Rain” by District 78.

Kaitlyn is scheduled first. Good. The judges tend to err on the side of scoring the first contestant rather conservatively, so they have room to score the next contestants, who may blow it out of the park, with higher scores.

Nelly, going third, is also strategic, IMO. If after Kaitlyn & Justina, he shows he's just not as good, they can score him down appropriately.

I'm not sure if that's the order for sure they will perform tho, we may find that out sunday/monday morning

Weighing in late, of course. My favorite dances of the night were Johnny's and Skai's. I really didn't want either to go home. :( Of course, I'm voting for Nev and Justina, with the nod going to Nev. He's been good this entire season... But she brings real heart into her dances, so I'd be happy if she won, too.

And I'm trying to like Tyra because normally I do, but personally consider her a distraction from the show. I don't like her delivery, and don't like the fashion aspect. I feel for the judges that have to be enthusiastic supporters here. I figure them to be good actors. Also, I don't get the Bruno hate. He's always been out there, but I think he always tries not to beat the contestants down while judging them fairly. Also... the Carrie Ann criticism is too harsh in my opinion. Women seem to beat down other women and sometimes unfairly. I think she's trying to adapt to the producers' theme this year. Also.... want to give kudos to Skai for her poise, especially at such a young age.
