I loved Johnny's dance. Also, loved Derek's critique. I know we say it every week, but I just really appreciate him as a judge. Happy he's back.

At first I thought, one can't do jazz for a semi-final dance. It's so open & interpretive. There really aren't any set steps to judge if they are doing it "right."

Then they danced. Yeah, it definitely should be allowed. Johnny and Britt were excellent. Britt really was able to choreograph some of the body movements Johnny does for skating. I hope we will be able to see them do a freeform dance in the finals.

Possibly. Although Bruno rattled off a few very esteemed jazz choreographers when he was critiquing the performance. So it had all the elements.

I think it had some elements. But, there are so many different styles of jazz: Fosse with all the jazz hand, Michael Bennett - A Chorus Line jazz, and some other styles I don't really know.

He's such a great, inspiring teacher. He always frames his critique to be so positive.

At least where I work, part of it for so long they have been catered and spoiled in a sense and we're having to change things with the times.
