Official Dancing With the Stars: Fall 2015

Andy seemed like a really nice guy. I'll admit at the beginning of the season I wasn't going to watch but I am actually really enjoying it,

The problem with someone like Derek leaving the show....there goes the viewers....there are some who watch just for some of the pros.

Oh, I know that, and I probably watch too many of these dancing shows, but I know that Derek was once just a troop (troupe?) member. A lot of those guys/gals have a long history in dance, and have great personalities, and would probably really shine if given a chance.

Why not make him a judge alternating with his sister then?

I think for Derek he is one of the most popular/requested pros. Some of the troupe members don't do as well outside of the troupe. Sasha is one of the few troupe members who I could see transitioning well to pro. Keo struggles too much.

Maybe an atheist would find the David and Goliath choice "offensive", but can't we move beyond that and just let the "stars" be honest with their hero choices?
I am an atheist and I didn't find Alexa's choice to be offensive. Just roll my eyes stupid.

I have to agree with you, Mandy. Many of pros have big fan bases who will tune in no matter what.

As much as I love Val, I would have rather seen Tamar go home than Andy. I'll admit that I only liked Andy in the beginning because of his catchy song her performed last season but he really grew on me. He seemed like a generally nice guy who did improve during the season.

I like that Alek said he doesn't want to be thought of as a hero. I also thought it was jerky that the show kept referring to him as a hero.

I also could have done quite well without them showing Bindi's feet close up...more than once.

I didn't understand the dance off voting. Not once while I was voting did I see the winner bar change from the second that voting opened.

No not always, there are people who watch because they have fallen in love with a pro and vote for that pro regardless of partner
yep. If my DS is around when I'm watching~ he has interest in only 2 people. Sharna and Julianne...and says what an idiot Ryan Seacrest is to have blown it with Julianne

HAHAAHA. I say Ryan's lost is Brooks gain and I say h's a dang better choice that's for sure.

I didn't get the dance off at all. The public voted and so did the judges. How did they decide who to give points to? It seemed like if the judges were unanimous, that person got the votes but if they were divided, the public vote decided it. If that's how it was decided, that's dumb. I really just couldn't figure out how they determined who to give points to.

Yes, I don't understand it either. Plus, it was only "live" voting for the east coast/central time part of the country. It wasn't live for the west coast as they couldn't see it or even know WHEN to vote, if they were voting anyway for their favorite team. :confused3

Alek lost his dance-off, but he was originally from CA, and is a National Guardsman in Oregon, where he also goes to college. So his fan-base, on the west coast, didn't get to see him dance or were able to vote for him. Probably other "stars" had the same thing happen, if they're fans are out west. :confused3

And I believe since it was considered a tie, Juliannes vote was the deciding since she's head judge

Did anyone see this? http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/...-dad-dead-before-dwts-deal-approved/75314202/

Thoughts?

I'd like to know why this wasn't settled before the season started? Part of me keeps thinking this is for publicity and to drum up pity for Bindi.

Just sounds like a legal technicality to me. They just have to produce a death certificate to be filed. How hard is that? This is news about nothing. :p

However, the article said:

"The legal dispute allowed reporters to examine a DWTS contract: According to EW, Bindi gets a guaranteed salary of $125,000 and weekly sweeteners for each week she stays on the show. If she makes it to weeks 10 and 11, she could earn an additional $50,000 a week."

If Alek gets roughly about the same amount, we now know why he said yes to doing the show. DWTS was determined to get a military competitor, like Noah & J.R. Martinez. For that amount of money, why not do it?

It obviously really hard when the producers of the show want everyone to feel like the court is just picking on "Poor Bindi"

I'm more intrigued that Derek and Bindi are dancing to a song by Alexander Jean aka Mark and his girlfriend
