Is anyone else surprised that Melissa's injury was a herniated disc and yet she was cleared to dance the next day?

I was beyond surprised. If she truly has a herniated disc, I can't imagine any doctor would tell her it's OK to fling your head around and let your body be used as a jump rope right after such an injury.

So while I enjoy hearing the celebs' guilty pleasure song, it is taking away from the dances, IMHO. Gilles, for instance...the song and dance did not go together at all to me. I felt like I was listening to one thing and watching another, and that really took away for me and left me aghast at his scores. Thought emmitt had scores that were way too high, too. Man, maybe I'm just cranky tonight.

Just caught up on tape. Gilles, oh my! I'm a new fan after last week and he did not disappoint today.

Val and Kelly bored me. She needs to go now.

Kirstie and Maks-- I'm shocked by the scores. I figured it would be two 8's and a 7.5 from Len.

Emmitt and Cheryl didn't wow me. Seemed cannd.

The group dance was quite good. Sabrina's solo was the best of the bunch. But, I'm putting my money on the next group dance being better.

Oh, and Carrie Ann... where to begin. It was only a matter of time before she faceplanted during a Gilles drool-a-thon. Classic!!

I cannot stand Carrie Ann. She's always drooling over someone, especially the athletes. She should grow up and show some respect for their wives sitting in the audience. I thought it was hysterical when she fell on the floor. Serves her right for making a fool out of herself.

Oh my goodness Carrie Ann just fell off her chair.

That was the funniest thing EVER to happen on DWTS!! Rewound it and watched it a couple of times. ABC must have loved it too, becasue they showed a replay of it from a different angle, when they came back from commercial break.

Totally agree with you. Watched this one a couple of times as well.

They were all in sync with each other, except for the very beginning with the girls doing the head bobbing thing. If I had been in Melissa's place, I wouldn't have done it too much either, with a hurt neck.

Apollo kept up with the guys and Karina didn't outdance the girls. When they were in the group, you couldn't tell who was the pro and who was the star.

That one hour episode felt much, much shorter than the 2 hour episodes usually do.

I thought Val and Kelly were meh. Their scores seemed about right. It just was not a very fun samba.

I like Gilles and Peta's dance but not as much as the judges did.

I feared that Kirstie and Maks would be terrible after the footage they showed from rehearsal but it was not bad. I thought the scores were a bit high but I never like the quickstep. It almost always looks like the pro is dragging the celeb partner around the room (with the exception of Shawn and Apollo's quicksteps this season!)

I thought Emmitt was fun but I feel like I have seen him do that same dance 43 times in that same outfit. He isn't wowing me this season.

Group dance was super fun. Kudos to Melissa for going for it even with her injury. Apollo seemed to have the least screen time and maybe it was just me, but did Karina flub a lift/jump that they were supposed to do at the start of their section? They had kind of an awkward entrance.

I can't wait for the group dance tonight!

I also thought that Karina flubbed the lift/trick. It seems like Apollo was standing there for a few seconds waiting for her to get to the next move. I thought it was awkward and was surprised at the 10's that they got. I have to say that I did really enjoy the group dance. Didn't care for Kelly/Val dance seemed off to me. I loved Emmitt in his season but he just isn't one of my favorites this time around. Giles dance was good but I don't think he deserved the scores that he got. Kirstie and Max are always fun to watch even if they aren't the best dancers. I am anxious for tonights dances and am curious who will go home next week.

I really enjoyed Melissa and Tony's tango. Yes, it lacked the head whipping and turning somewhat but I liked it. Melissa is becoming one of my favs. She, Shawn and Gilles.

Len is just an old fart looking to criticize. His comment was stupid anyway...that he can only judge based on what he sees. She had a freaking herniated disc in her neck you crotchety poop.

Oh my goodness!!!!! That dance with Shawn and Derek simply gorgeous. Unbelievable. So moving and I loved the ending with Derek going over the side. And man they were dancing on a raised stage too!!! Amazing.

Wow! Shawn & Derek were seriously excellent & beautiful. They gave Gilles & Peta a run for the money! And I am a Gilles fan.
