There was some really good parts to the Gangdam Style dance, but it was too disjointed. Plus, Kirstie had a problem with taking her suit off and that threw the whole dance off from the start.

I wondered that too earlier. But, they just listed ALL the dancers again tonight. So if you want Gilles to win, or have enough votes to be back next week. You have to vote AGAIN for him tonight.

I gave Giles all my votes last night and split them with Apolo for tonight. Still have a soft spot in my heart for Apolo, even though I think his days are numbered.

I gave all my votes to Gilles last nite. No more needing to split votes as we are down to all dancers who can dance.

I was thinking about giving some votes to Shawn & Derek tonight, but if people only tuned in tonight and not last nite, they may be giving all their votes to just tonight's individual dances (and not the Gangnam style dancers,) and not any to Gilles. Then by some weird quirk, he might end up in the bottom two.

I'm kinda over Giles. The other season it didn't seem like he was playing up his sexy and I liked that. This season he seems to have jumped on his own band wagon and I want the old Giles back. I did like the solo dances tonight and the team dance last night.

I couldn't agree more. I really liked Gilles the first time around. This time, not so much, and I think this has a lot to do with it.

Okay, just getting around to watching to tonight's. can someone explain how Carrie Ann could possibly give Sabrina a 10 based on the comments she gave? You know, before she made her completely appropriate happy ending joke?

I don't see it as being any different than the team dance having a cheerleading theme AND using a lot of acrobatics, highlighting Melissa, who just happens to be an ex-Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, and Shawn's gymnastic abilities. Derek also makes sure almost all of Shawn's dances have some sort of acrobatic move in it, to highlight her best abilities.

Gilles is up against really tough competition. He also had the mirror ball trophy robbed from him during his season by Shawn who was excellent tonight. Being humble & coy may not get him enough votes that he needs this season.

I think Gilles' enthusiasm is refreshing especially considering several people had meltdowns this week.

Exactly my thoughts as well.

I 'think' that they have to judge, and then score, based on the individual dance. Sure, some dances are going to be much more entertaining, and fun to watch. But, if you take each dance on it's own merits, then you can have Sabrina getting high scores as well as Shawn...two very different dances, but both done very well. At least, that is my understanding.

And that group dance??? It truly was a 'hot mess'...entertaining sure, but certainly not up to the standards of the previous one. Call Me Maybe was sooooooo much better..on all levels.

What the hell was that?? I didn't like it at all. It was jerky and weird and too icky. Yuck. And geez Bruno, put a lid on it buddy.

The Gangnam dance was kind of ridiculous and not very good, but...
OMG, Gilles in his undies!!!!!

The thing is, Gangnam Style is 1st and foremost a song that pokes fun at the posers and wannabes that put on airs and trying to be something that they aren't. The song is fun and quirky. You can't take yourself too seriously, if you want to imbrace the song. Which they didn't do. They just had fun.

They actually did a wonderful job pulling pieces from the video. People in workout gear - yep. Wearing towels from the sauna section - yep. Kelly's outfit was spot on out of the video. Emmit and Cheryl would have fit into the large group dance section of the video with the costumes, as well as the steps they did in their solo section. If any of them had done the elevator guy, I would have fell out my seat laughing. Especially if they had done his facial expressions.

I often complain that I think Derek's partners get overscored but I thought they were underscored last night. That dance was beautiful and had much more emotion than I expected from Shawn. Also, that was definitely a catch not a lift. I thought it was better than Gilles and Peta and deserved better scores.

Melissa and Tony were good, not fantastic but I will give her a pass because of her injury.

I thought Apolo was okay. I was never his biggest fan anyway, even in his season and he hasn't done anything to change that yet this season.

I thought Sabrina looked beautiful and the dance was charming but it was not my favorite dance. There were some parts at the end with the clock chiming where he looked like he was awkwardly dragging her. I know it was a waltz which is slow, but it felt really, really slow to me.

I have no words for the group dance. It was as crazy as I anticipated. I was laughing the whole time which I think was their plan.

My votes last night were for Melissa and Tony. I'd like to see them a few more weeks.

I agree completely with you about Shawn, though. I don't like Shawn and I don't like Derek, but even I thought they were underscored last night. My family was joking that if i said that their dance was good, it must have been pretty darn good because I'm so biased against them I guess it balances out some of their (in my opinion) over scores in the grand scheme of things, not that that helps them this week.
