OFFICIAL D23 Membership available for all Disney fans--Will you join too? UPDATE

Did anyone get the poster before they got the magazine and the certificate? My poster has arrived but the mag/certificate still hasn't. I'm truly thinking it's lost - but Disney won't do anything until after 10 business days - it's already been over two weeks since I ordered and I'm getting impatient.

I joined on the 10th March and had nothing at all yet from the membership kit. I did order some pins and a hoodie and they arrived. But no membership card, magazine or certificate or poster yet. I think that side of things can be slow.

See post #263 earlier in this thread. The lithograph is the "surprise gift" that's included with your membership. :)

What a crock! I have not been able to get any of the pins. Not a single one

seriously thinking about asking for a refund/cancel my membership

Absolutely! I tried all last night, and it wasn't listed as "unavailable." However, all day today it is listed as "sold out." I was able to get the first pin (Tink) on the evening of March 10th... Ach!! :headache:

The first pin was available for several days. I, most like others, said $19.95! Ouch. I'll just wait and Poof! I received the D23 email 5 hours after it came out and the second pin said unavailable, so I called and the rep said the inventory was zero. I asked her how many were available and she said she did not know.

there are probably 50.

I received my card, certificate, and poster all on different days. BUT!! The card & certificate do not have my name on them, only my screen name. Anyone else have this problem?? They both say "LindaOwl1" instead of my name. I've E-mailed both D23 & Disneyshopping, but no response so far. I know they DO have my full name, as all items came addressed to the correct name. Just wondering if it's only me?

I have a pin (por favor hint hint) that we paid well over 20 bucks for! When I went to add the d23 pins to bag it said that it could not be purchased at this time. I kept refreshing, opening up new windows, etc with no luck, then this morn it said sold out!

I would love to get the pins, but since they are sold out I guess not. I was really excited about the membership, but now I'm wondering if it was just a waste. Part of the problem might be that a bunch were bought and then put on Ebay. The pins are really cute, but I refuse to pay +$200 for a pin. The memberships just don't seems very thought out.

My membership card came with my full name on it. The magazine/certificate were mailed - but I've yet to see them.

I'd call Disney Shopping and ask them about the name mess-up. I've found emailing them doesn't get answered in a reasonable time - I just call.

Does anyone know if there is a kiosk or someplace in the parks or at DTD where we could sign up for D-23 while we are at Disney??

Not that I've heard. Even "One Man's Dream" at DHS, which is now sponsored by D23, doesn't have a place to sign up for it. It only has a sign telling guests to visit disney.com/d23 to join.

Both the magazine and "gift from the Walt Disney Archives Collection" were damaged when they came in. The magazine was shipped that way & the gift was poorly packaged.I emailed them & haven't back. I'm anxious to see how they rectify the situation. If everything is as topnotch as Disney normally does things, I feel it will all worth it.

From Disney website:

"How can I join?

Guests can join online at Disney.com/D23 or DisneyShopping.com, and can purchase gift memberships for friends and family as well.

Gift "membership redemption cards" will soon be available at domestic Disney Stores, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort and on the Disney Cruise Line. D23 gift membership recipients must redeem their card by registering online and paying any applicable state tax. "

Hope that helps...

My poster arrived damaged too. Who did you contact? I really want to have it replaced. Thanks

Here's who you need to contact: guest.services@DisneyShopping.com

I, too, am a member of D23. I have to admit that I am EXTREMELY disappointed by the fact that they can't seem to package things well (at least the items that I have received). My membership card was barely hanging on inside the folded thick paper; why this couldn't have been mailed inside an actual envelope is beyond me. I am shocked the lithograph arrived O.K., even though the tube itself was damaged.

My biggest gripe though has been the magazine. When I got my welcome kit, the corners of the magazine were considerably dented/bent due to the thin packaging. This had come in the US mail. I e-mailed the address above and stated that I hoped I could receive a replacement copy in STURDIER packaging. I got this response from Disney customer service:

I am so sorry to hear about the concerns you have had with your D23 order and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Upon reviewing your concern, I am happy to inform you, we are sending a one time replacement D23 Magazine. I trust this will resolve the issue to your satisfaction. Please feel free to let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

So, my doorbell rings this morning, and it's FedEx. Once again, they sent the magazine in the SAME packaging, and while it is in slightly better condition, the top left corner of the magazine is still strongly bent.

I'm sorry...while I love the lithograph and the idea of being a part of the group, it seems like such a waste of money when I could go to a Barnes & Noble and buy the mag in pristine condition. It just aggravates me that after I mentioned how flimsy the packaging was, that they sent it in the same packaging.

Yes, I may be a bit picky, but I expect QUALITY from Disney. It peeved me that in their initial response that they referred to it as a "one time replacement." I can see how some out there might be after a duplicate copy, but when I genuinely have been receiving damaged copies, that comment is frustrating. Does that mean that if future issues are damaged, that I won't be able to get replacements?

Getting off my soapbox now.

My lithograph came without damage but my magazine is slightly bent at one corner. I'm not really going to do anything about it though. The damage is not that noticeable and I'm not planning to sell it anytime soon!
