We booked a grand gathering (3 rooms - 13 people total) for 8/14 - 8/22 @ Pop

First time at POP and I'm so excited- deposits are paid!

when I logged on to check the reservation.... it said 178 days 178 LONG days!

Now if the free dining code comes out - airfare will get booked and we'll be on our way!

Okay, We are booked with Airfare and deposit on trip to ASM 8-15/8-22 with DDP. Here's hoping a code shows up for DDP. I would LOVE to get that for free but going anyway. . .

We are going to be there at the same time and place . But you are staying one day longer than us, we leave on the 21st. I just made all our ADRs plus reservations for Hoop Dee Doo and the GG Illuminations Dinner & Dessert viewing. One thing I hate about ADRs is I live on the West Coast and had to get up at 4am to call WDW. But I really really like that you can now make all your ADRs for the trip in one phone call. In the past I would have about a week where I had to get up every morning at 4am (I don't get home from work until after midnight). We are excited about staying at the POP too.

While on the phone with CRO to check to see if we had any codes or pins attached to our name, address, email, phone, etc.... I asked if Disney will be offering the free dining again this year. The CM said no information regarding free dining has been released as of yet. Ohhhh, I so hope Disney gives out this great deal again!

I noticed on Mousesavers that a general public offer that runs up to June finishes soon, I wonder if they will replace it with anything good.

I was thinking the same thing. Plus the infamous 40% off code expires 3-15 (I believe) which would probably mean announcement at the end of March...

I tried yesterday. Nada. I'm probably doing this all wrong because I already have an existing reservation. I'm sure when I put my telephone # in, they were able to see that. Why should they offer me any discount when I've already booked for full price, right? I asked the CM to check if I had a code. Nope. I asked if the code was maybe associated with my old name and address. Nope (at least he said no, but he only had me on hold for about 5 seconds so I'm not sure he checked. I think by that point the guy was sick of talking to me

I am seriously thinking about cancelling my reservation and just seeing what comes. It makes me sick to my stomach knowing I am paying full rate while other people are getting these fantastic discounts.

We are only able to go to WDW the first week of August. What do you DIS'ers think? Is there hope for me, or am I doomed?

I got the postcard but it doesn't work for our dates too, August 17 - August 24th and it doesn't make sense to split our stay since we are doing a package.

No one else going the first 3 weeks of August is getting any kind of deal unless they booked the bounceback or live in the UK.

I would be shocked for them not to offer SOMETHING to early Augusters because Value season starts on the 5th. It might just be the stupid free hopper/water parks & more thing, but it's got to be something!

Can you not get an AAA rate? We have but are hoping for something a bit better, if nothing comes up we haven't done too badly. I see the AP rates have come out today for up to the start of June, perhaps August will be in the next batch.

I am not a AAA member. Is it worth it to join just to get these discounts? I really wouldn't use it for anything else.

I am at the point where I'm ready to cancel POP and book offsite. I'm having real anxiety trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for all this. The only part about staying offsite that really bothers me is giving up the DDP. I know we won't be able to eat nearly as well without it

We joined AAA for this discount. We saved about $300 dollars on our trip and spent $42 for the membership. Well worth it for me. I like to book my own ADR's, so I don't need anyone at AAA to do that for me. I am waaaay to anal about it to let that out of my hands.

We also booked our trip in August of '07 in October of '06. Perhaps that is why we got exactly what we wanted?

I got 15% off my room rate with AAA, almost $100 per night, so it is well worth paying the membership fees just to get the discount. I don't need AAA for car breakdown as my car is fairly new and is still under the manufacturer's warranty. If you book on-line you do not need to give a membership number but you do have to produce a card at check-in, so if you don't buy your membership until just before you go you don't need to join should a better non-AAA rate come up.

We're doing a quick 2-days, August 19-21st and the codes good starting the 21st, but we don't want to add another day. The CM was willing to split the reservation if we did want to stay until the 22nd, so why wouldn't you just split your reservation and get the 40%-off for August 21st-24th?

Huh. I have an old, expired AAA card. I wonder if this would do the trick... Evil, I know, but certainly a possibility.

edit - question, does this have to be booked on the AAA website or can you book through Disney with the AAA discount?
