While "Law & Boarder" will never go down as a great episode, the 'family' & Caskett moments had me laughing & I did enjoy the episode very much.
first, the quotes (and there are a lot this week!)
Beckett: Castle, aren't there more important things than winning?
Castle: Oh, that's a notion created to comfort those who lose.
D.K.: "I won't have to, brah, 'cause you got no proof."
Beckett: "I think we will, brah."
Ryan: "I can't believe we just got beat by a girl."
Esposito: "Let's never speak of this again."
Castle: "You would deny me a chance of redemption?"
Beckett: "Well, keep on this path, there's a lot you'll be denied."
Beckett: "Oh. A reigning champion unable to cope with defeat. That sounds familiar."
Castle: 'Richard Castle, one word short.' I cannot allow this to be my epitaph."
Beckett: "Well, I think catching killers is pretty extreme. And then there's marrying you."
Castle: "Ah yes, I admit I am extreme. Extremely handsome."
Alexis: "Oh, my gosh. Did you really beat dad at Scrabble?"
Castle: "I concede nothing, except that I need more coffee."
Castle: "You want to play poker against me?"
Beckett: "Strip poker."
Castle: "I'll deal."
Castle: "This is so much better than Scrabble."
Esposito: "You think Richard Castle wants you planning his bachelor party. Oh, man."
Ryan: "Being a best man is more than just preparing the bachelor party. I'm a family man, I represent a high moral standard and I photograph better than you do."
Loved:
the whole opening scene in the loft. Between Castle trying to get one more word, to Martha telling Kate what an accomplishment it was to beat Rick to the fist bump between Kate & Alexis, I loved it. Looks like Kate is part of the family now.
love Ryan & Espo fighting it out for best man duties.
loved the scene between Kate & Lanie when they were talking about the maid of honor dress.
loved the rematch Scrabble game. Glad she used that word to beat him - he deserved to lose!
and of course, I loved the strip poker game at the end. I liked Rick in that red shirt....
I'm a little disappointed that he didn't pick the guys to be co-best men, but I do think the choice of Alexis is really sweet.
As to the crime, who the heck cares about it? I couldn't remember any of the details when the episode was over.
So next week's episode looks very intense. Part of me is wondering if they are beginning to wind down the Bracken/Kate's mother murder story. I'm pretty sure there will be a season 7, but I wonder if the actors want to do any more, so season 8 may not happen. So they could wrap that story up now, get 3XK/Kelly next year, and end the show with Kate pregnant. Or the cliffhanger for this year could be that Kate has something to tell Rick (or they have something to tell everyone) and that could be a baby on the way. I've always felt that would be the end - I guess Rick would be this baby's nanny too. But I got last year's cliffhanger all wrong so what do I know?
