Official "Castle" thread! Spoilers welcomed!

While "Law & Boarder" will never go down as a great episode, the 'family' & Caskett moments had me laughing & I did enjoy the episode very much.

first, the quotes (and there are a lot this week!)

Beckett: Castle, aren't there more important things than winning?
Castle: Oh, that's a notion created to comfort those who lose.

D.K.: "I won't have to, brah, 'cause you got no proof."
Beckett: "I think we will, brah."

Ryan: "I can't believe we just got beat by a girl."
Esposito: "Let's never speak of this again."

Castle: "You would deny me a chance of redemption?"
Beckett: "Well, keep on this path, there's a lot you'll be denied."

Beckett: "Oh. A reigning champion unable to cope with defeat. That sounds familiar."

Castle: “'Richard Castle, one word short.' I cannot allow this to be my epitaph."

Beckett: "Well, I think catching killers is pretty extreme. And then there's marrying you."
Castle: "Ah yes, I admit I am extreme. Extremely handsome."

Alexis: "Oh, my gosh. Did you really beat dad at Scrabble?"
Castle: "I concede nothing, except that I need more coffee."

Castle: "You want to play poker against me?"
Beckett: "Strip poker."
Castle: "I'll deal."

Castle: "This is so much better than Scrabble."

Esposito: "You think Richard Castle wants you planning his bachelor party. Oh, man."
Ryan: "Being a best man is more than just preparing the bachelor party. I'm a family man, I represent a high moral standard and I photograph better than you do."

Loved:

the whole opening scene in the loft. Between Castle trying to get one more word, to Martha telling Kate what an accomplishment it was to beat Rick to the fist bump between Kate & Alexis, I loved it. Looks like Kate is part of the family now.

love Ryan & Espo fighting it out for best man duties.

loved the scene between Kate & Lanie when they were talking about the maid of honor dress.

loved the rematch Scrabble game. Glad she used that word to beat him - he deserved to lose!

and of course, I loved the strip poker game at the end. I liked Rick in that red shirt....

I'm a little disappointed that he didn't pick the guys to be co-best men, but I do think the choice of Alexis is really sweet.

As to the crime, who the heck cares about it? I couldn't remember any of the details when the episode was over.

So next week's episode looks very intense. Part of me is wondering if they are beginning to wind down the Bracken/Kate's mother murder story. I'm pretty sure there will be a season 7, but I wonder if the actors want to do any more, so season 8 may not happen. So they could wrap that story up now, get 3XK/Kelly next year, and end the show with Kate pregnant. Or the cliffhanger for this year could be that Kate has something to tell Rick (or they have something to tell everyone) and that could be a baby on the way. I've always felt that would be the end - I guess Rick would be this baby's nanny too. But I got last year's cliffhanger all wrong so what do I know? :lmao:

I really have a feeling they are going to wrap up the Bracken stuff tonight. And then next week will be the build up to the wedding but the cliffhanger could be - do they actually get married?!!! (just a feeling - I keep changing my mind about that)

OMG! that was amazing. And I don't usually give away this much right away but I have to.....Smith doesn't help them, Gates can't help them, but 2 people that you least expect help them. And that last scene - wow.

And thank goodness Kate didn't get rid of the elephants on her desk, as Castle pretended he wanted her to do.

I love it!

Me too. But I was on Twitter last night & boy oh boy are some of the fans upset. They think that ruins Kate's "I'm a one & done kind of girl" comments from season 1. Or they think it's a cliche to do it. Me, I think it's funny. But then a lot of fans went nuts after every promo in season 5, thinking every negative thing meant they were breaking up.

The one thing I didn't like was the fact Montgomery was outed. I know it couldn't be helped, but I didn't like it anyway.

I just rewatched it and it blew me away again. I have it dvr'd until I get my season 6 dvd's. I'll be watching it many times. I am obsessed, though!! My family thinks I'm crazy! And regarding the sneak for next week, I don't know how people can make up their minds what is going to happen based on a 30 second clip. I'm an optimist and believe things will turn out OK. And how gorgeous is that white gown?

I'll admit, I saw the 30 second clip & immediately said, "Crap, they're doing that same thing Bones did with Hodgins & Angela." Hopefully, they have more imagination than that, though.

And WOOHOO for a pretty dress! So much better than the one earlier in the season!

OK, here's my theory: it's Rick paying her back for his birthday party.

First time poster... but a lover of Castle since Day 1.

I'm worried... last night's episode felt like a really big wrap up. I don't want this show to end. Anyone willing to give me proof that they WON'T be cancelling Castle, since it still hasn't been renewed?

First, ABC hasn't renewed any shows yet. They always wait until May to do it. Second, the ratings for Castle are still great.

And yes, that did seem to wrap up the Bracken story, but now they can have fun with married Castle. Season 7 seems to be a lock, but I'm not sure how much more there will be after that.

That look that Bracken was giving Beckett makes me think he still has some cards up his sleeve. At least in the name of revenge for destroying his dream.

I had to be quick in my replies while I was at work, but I'm home now and can really put my thoughts down.

I really don't think this is the end of Castle. Like I said, ABC hasn't renewed anything yet. They will announce their schedule next Tuesday, so we'll know for sure then. The ratings have been very good too. And I heard somewhere (can't remember where) that the actors are signed thru season 7. And in the TV Guide story about the finale, Nathan Fillion said there is a cliffhanger, so they expect to be back next year too.

But like Alexis said in her speech (in the episode that aired 2 yrs ago today), everything must end, and someday Castle will be over too. I hope they decide to end it rather than being cancelled. And if that's the case, I'm sure we'll know when the last season will be.

As to the Bracken story, I've learned to never say never. But I do have a feeling that it has been wrapped up. Because Monday's episode was so satisfying, I really hope they never have another issue. There are only a few things I want to hear about him: how long the sentence is and that he died.

The one thing I didn't like was the fact Montgomery was outed. I know it couldn't be helped, but I didn't like it anyway.

Honestly, that was 1 thing that has bothered me. I felt he should have been exposed. I understand loyalty but Montgomery's (and Raglan's and McAllister's) actions led to many innocent lives being taken - Johanna, the 2 lawyers, and Scott Murray who did nothing more than pull a file for Johanna. Yes he was a great cop and a great mentor but he had blood on his hands. I always felt that Kate was a better person than I am because I could never have forgiven him.

ETA: I do feel that that flashback scene made me feel a little bit better about him.
