Official Car rental September 2013...advice please

I used to be good at this but it appears I've lost my skills. Trying to rent a minivan pick up MCO and drop off TPA 9/13 9am through 9/24 4pm. Can't get a price lower than $420. UGH. I think I need help.

i found a minivan through ez rental car for 230 from 9/13 til 9/20 and i also found a minivan from thrifty for the same dates for 240. Anybody think i can find something in the terminal for less?

Does anyone know if Alamo carry concierge service for a flat, or blown radiator hose? I read no unless you pay for it,but thought they did?
Canceling some ressies, holding onto two.

Just rebooked my Alamo reservation with the Double upgrade code and price went down $15! :woohoo::woohoo: Now sitting at $174.45 for 9/16-9/25 for a Standard at MCO. I used Contract ID 7015360 and Coupon Code AU4224FDC for anyone who wants it.

Where is the dbl upgrade cpn coming from?
I don't want to use it and find out I don't have a right to do so.
Thanks!

Never mind, I found it.
Since this coupon appears to be intended for members of the Edvantage program, I would advise anyone using the code to have a back-up res, in case they ask you for proof of membership.

I checked it out - didn't feel 100% comfortable using it - it would only save me $5 or $6 dollars anyway. Going to keep checking though! Although I think $157 for Alamo is as cheap as its going to get for me (11 days out) However I will do online check in the night before we leave and keep searching!

Thrifty and EZ are in the terminal at MCO.

I think it depends on the situation. I would call Alamo and see what their roadside protection policy is. I looked at my notes and it says:
Key replacement (saves a ton of money if you lose that key, replacement can cost up to 250.00)
3 gallons of gas
Towing
Lock out
Jump start
Flat tire.
4.99 per day.
Not sure if mechanical failure is on the customer. That is what you should check by calling them.

That seems best in my mind as well.
From what I am reading, it appears to be a code for Canadians.
So if you use the code with a US address, it seems that it would be pretty easy for them to figure out that you probably shouldn't be using it.

I would definitely have a backup reservation if attempting to use this code.

3 days to go and I checked Alamo tonight and I'm down another $7 to $129 for a standard for 8/31-9/7. :goodvibes

What codes are you using? My dates are 9/1-9/8 and rate hasn't changed in 2 weeks. Midsize still $134 using 7016105 and upgrade code.

Checked my rental price last night on large SUV, enterprise was down almost $100. Checked Alamo and budget they were even lower!!
Going with Alamo since they were the lowest.

Preference between Alamo & enterprise I should know before renting???

And mine went down yet again....$112, Sept 1-8...pick up at Palm Beach, return to MCO!!!!

That's great!
Maybe that means there's hope for mine to drop some more yet.
I pick up on sep 6 at TPA, so I'll be crossing fingers and toes and waiting on pins and needles!!
Doesn't sound very comfortable though!!! :goodvibes

Yes, that is with taxes. Is Dollar outside the terminal? (need to shuttle?)

Inside the terminal is worth more to me as there will be 7 of us and that shuttle ride with all of our luggage is just a little bit of a stressor. haha.

My Midsize rental through Alamo just went down $6 as well.

- Paying: $146 (after taxes)
- Dates: 9/7 - 9/14
- Codes: Free upgrade combined with Alamo insiders from their site

Dollar is at the Terminal at MCO, no shuttle needed. It's also pick your own car out of a row in whatever size car you rent.
