Official Car rental September 2013...advice please

I don't know if it was mentioned already, but I found another Visa contract ID. Here are the details

Save up to 20% and receive $15 off when you rent any size car in the United States, Latin America and Caribbean and pay with your Visa® card. Requires a 3-day minimum rental with a Saturday overnight keep.

ID 7015504 and Coupon Code AD7394SDJ.

I can't get either one to go through on internet explorer or chrome. It says Capacity Check, coupon not available. :confused3

Strange... I just tried them again and they are working for me. The one time I had trouble was when I put in a bad code and then every code after that said the same thing (unfortunately, I don't remember what the specific error message was, but I don't think it said Capacity Check). The way I fixed it was refreshed the page, but have read that others have done that (refresh, cleared cookies, etc) and it didn't work for them so most likely I didn't get the same error.

Just a guess, but because of the word "capacity" I wonder if there are only so many discounts they can give under that code and they've reached the limit? TOTALLY just a guess since others have reported that they talked/emailed Alamo and they said they are aware of the issue. Who knows, I wish I could help....

If I use an Entertainment coupon code that someone posted....I WILL have to have that "physical" coupon in hand when I pick up the car at National....correct? Even if I go use the Kiosk? Just want to clarify. Does anyone know if I need to buy the Orlando version Entertainment book or are the rental car pretty much the same in each of the different books across the US?

Just got a minivan from Sept 5-15 for $286 at National. Used KLM code 8572130 and entertainment book nda2354bu for $30 off.

Hi, just wondering which Entertainment books this coupon is in.....I believe I have to have the coupon in hand to give National rental counter....don't I?

Never used one of these codes and am a little unclear on the rules. :goodvibes

That means that those coupons have reached the limit. Only so many are allowed or that they are sold out of that class of car/s.

Hmmm, that Visa code is different than the one I have been trying (and booked under). I'll have to try that one, too, to see if it has a different effect.

EDIT: The visa code 7015504 doesn't work for me. It says "Coupon ID Not Found". I know that the Visa code AD2338FDF does work (although sometimes you have to refresh your browser or close/reopen your browser after using an invalid coupon code to get it to work, but not always... Evidently, problem with Alamo site many are having).

The reason the code did not work for you is because you put the code in the coupon box, hence the message: Coupon not found. :) THe AD2338FDF is a coupon code.
Codes are always 7 digits long. Coupon almost always have a letter/s before the numbers and letter/s after the numbers. I do not like the new Alamo site, it is really confusing for a lot of people. The other one was soo much better.
Just a FYI, if you use a Visa, MC or AMEX code you need to pay for the rental with that card.

These two numbers are CODES, not coupons. Technically you should be able to use a coupon with it as well. But, we all know coupon codes are not working. I did send Alamo Tech Support an email this morning asking them the status of fixing the problems with the website, but no response so far (no surprise there!).

The AD2338FDF is a coupon code. The 7 digit number is a rate code.

Capacity can mean that they are not allowing anymore of those coupons or rate codes or that they are sold out of that class or those classes of vehicles.

Yes, you will need the physical coupon for an entertainment discount, even if you go to the kiosk. The exit agent will want it. You don't need to buy the Orlando version, they are all the same for the car discounts.

The discounts for car rentals are all the same in all the books across the US. Yes, you will need the coupon. You can use the kiosk and hand the coupon to the exit agent.

Just a reminder people...be careful when using any discount codes, coupons, whatever. If you aren't entitled to use them, it will backfire on you later on. Sure, you may be able to plug a code or coupon in, but if you get to the exit area, to pay, and you can't substantiate those discounts, you are going to pay full price!!

That's the answer Alamo gave me today in response to my email to them. Funny tho - in all the years we've rented from them, we've NEVER encountered this before. I think they have made some changes recently.

No no changes, just a busy time that you selected and more info getting out on the net regarding discounts. Keep in mind, this is a business and one that wants to make a profit. Their bean counters do a fantastic job of knowing how to maintain the bottom line.

We have been renting from Alamo in September for at least eight years now. We usually use a VISA coupon code for some amount off in addition to the other discount. This is the first time that I have seen a Capacity reached error. And September coupons just came available. I find it hard to believe that they have reached capacity on them when this is hurricane season in Florida.

Every coupon is at capacity?! This isn't a One Direction concert we are talking about folks.

:lmao: Good!

One of their coupons they say is at capacity is one of the Visa ones I got ON THEIR WEBSITE! They provided it and said here, this will save you an extra $15 off your rental....wait, no...you don't get that one, sorry, our bad. What? How does that work? That is like Walmart giving you a coupon as you walk in the door to use, then at the register saying no, we have decided we gave too many out.

OK, now I am confused. For the last couple of weeks when I enter the AD2338FDF coupon I've gotten the Capacity reached message. However, back on July 2nd, I was able to combine that coupon with the Costco ID and got a nine day ressie for a Standard for $174.66. For some reason they never sent it to my email, but I was able to pull it up online on the Alamo site and print it. I then tried to email it to myself, but for some strange reason still couldn't get it to go through to my email. I do still have the print out I did from the Alamo site though. I just now went to the Alamo site to look at it again under my account, upcoming reservations and it won't pull up. Instead, I'm getting a message there that the capacity for the coupon is reached and is now unavailable. Will Alamo honor the print out I have, even though I can't pull it up now on their site?:confused3

Wow and Wow! Booked Dollar.com last week for our Houston rental at $202. for a midsize car for 8 days. Checked today to see if prices were coming down...a Whopping $446. today!!!! Lesson? When you see an acceptable price...BOOK IT!!! You can always modify!:goodvibes

Hurricane season is not something that stops people from coming in Sept. Big travel time for folks from outside the US. What are your dates?

Aubriee, I really in all honesty cannot answer that question. I hate to make it seem like I am dusting you off, but, you really need to call Alamo. Please, let me know the outcome of this.
