Hi Guys

Me and DF are travelling to the world at the end of September and DF will be celebrating his birthday whilst there.

I have a surprise in mind of what I want to do on the day and I would also like a cake to go with.

I was skimming through the pages and have seen the two Lilo & Stitch cakes, which are v cool. I have had an idea of the style of cake I want which would be a Lilo & Stitch/Polynesian theme.

I rang through to the cake hotline, but didn't get much help (options were a bit confusing). Basically what I would like to get would be a fresh cream type cake, either all chocolate or fresh strawberries and have a chocolate Lilo & Stitch on top and the colour decorations in a Poly theme a small palm tree to accompany.

I spoke to the Poly cake line and they can only do basic cakes. Would the GF bakery be able to do something like what I am after do you think?

TIA

I am sure it still come out cheaper than what Disney charges!! LOL

And probably better tasting/looking too.

My questions are these if you lovely cake lovers can help a girl out:
1) I am interested in the cake below but do they have any non edible cake toppers? There is a figurine that I have my eye on and if the bakeries don't have access to it I would be happy to send it to them before we arrive. Can this be done?

I'm sure that they can if the figurine isn't too heavy. I remember at least two cakes on here that had figurines that the guest provided put on top so it has been done. Whether or not you can get your restaurant to do so is up to that cake team, best to call and ask. Good luck.

Just finished speaking with Brian! He said to contact private dining at WL to let them know that I have spoken with him. Anyone know if payment on the cake is due up front or if it is charged to the room?

Hey all,

I just spoke to Pat about a possible cake order for Valentine's Day dinner at Narcoossee's. She told me that to customize I had to order an 8 inch cake--I thought the GF was the only bakery that allowed you to customize a 6 inch cake?

I sent her pictures of a cake from this thread that the poster said cost $55 (although this was a few months ago) but I was told that my cake would cost $100! That's quite a price jump.

That being said, I think when I speak to her again I will give her a dollar amount I'm willing to spend and ask her to do whatever she can with that budget in the idea of the cake in the picture, as I don't think I can justify spending $100 on a Valentine's Day cake.

I so very badly want to get a specialty cake delivered to my fiance at Pop Century but everywhere I call tells me this is not possible. :(

Does anyone know of a way to have this done?

It would be for Tuesday...

I orderd one for my hubby's b-day in 2008 at Pop. I just called the cake hot line I can't think of who I called but I told them I wanted the cake for Pop Century, they will not deliver to the room, so I just had to got to the food court and pick it up. It was a very yummy cake!!

I'm trying to plan a surprise for my DH for our anniversary. We are having dinner at Narcoosee's (our DD will be in the cub's den for the evening) when we are there in May and I want to surprise him with a cake. Had some questions for you guys...
A) How close to the date would I need to order the cake?
B) I am trying to decide what kind of cake to order. I have no idea how much each would cost, but thought you guys would know. I thought of the mini tiered wedding cake...would it feed two people? Either that or a 6" cake with either standard decorations or our wedding photo put on. Can they do that?

Any cost info you guys can give me would be great and I won't have to deal with Pat as much...Thanks!

Just ordered a cake through Brian at the contemporary! My brother and I will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge and it's his 18th birthday on 2/18! We discussed:

8" Cake with Fondant - $100
Guitar/Hard rock music theme (he showed me a pic of a mad hatter guitar cake from earlier in the thread)
Hidden mickeys where possible
make "18" prominent
if he can throw Wall-E in there somehow awesome!!

It will be delivered to the room on 2/18 I had my choice of times until 12am (I chose 9pm for an after illuminations surprise but might change it to mid-day)

I provided a credit card to be charged after delivery

it was a very seamless process once I got in touch with Brian and I can't wait to see and share the results!

Nicole786 - That's fantastic! I had no idea you could order a cake from the Contemporary to be delivered to your room at Wilderness Lodge. I wonder if I could order one from the Contemporary from Brian to be delivered to the Poly. This opens up some new possibilities - my son would love a monorail cake!

Thanks for posting, I was always curious what the chocolate monorail looked like! I wonder if I could order one like this for a dinner at Chef Mickey's?

I would say absolutely...when I ordered they asked if I was staying there and wanted it delivered to the room or to one of their restaurants.

All of the new cakes are bringing me back in the cake-planning spirit!

We have 2 trips coming up, and I'm getting pretty excited with 2 pretty crazy ideas. :woohoo:

What a cute cake :)

Just gonna post my question again.

Hey everyone,

I had a question that I think got buried a couple pages back. I spoke with Pat at the GF about ordering a custom cake and she told me the smallest I could order was an 8 inch. I thought the GF was the only bakery that allowed you to customize a 6 inch cake?

Also, does anyone know how they arrive at their prices? Because I got quoted for $100 for a cake that is a lot simpler than other cakes posted recently on this thread that come from the GF and cost less. Not to mention I asked for a cake similar to one posted on here that cost $55. I understand inflation and all, but this was not all that long ago!

:)The cakes are amazing! I have a few questions.

1) Could I have one delivered to WL? I thought about having it delivered to one of our dinners but I knew we would not finish it. Then we would have to go back to our room with it. I also think my DS would love the idea of it being delivered to the room!

2) Any ideas the cost of a Stitch cake? He will 11 while we are in Disney! I also love the look of the strawberry cake I saw somewhere on here!

3) Can I pay in cash?

Thanks!

We had an AWESOME cake at the California Grill on January 12th to celebrate my daughter's second birthday.

Isn't it gorgeous?

We had them cut it for us. I just didn't have the heart.

I have read that Brian is responsible for all of the cakes at the Contemporary- and if you did ours, Brian, I want to thank you so much! It was the perfect ending to an absolutely perfect dinner! The "icing on the cake" if you will.

Okay, okay... I'll post a picture of the happy birthday girl with her cake. Only 'cause you're twisting my arm. :rolleyes1

What a beautiful cake! Could you tell us how much it cost? I would love a similar one for my daughter's birthday.

I asked Pat to make a cake with Duchess and Marie (for the mother/daughter theme) and incorporate piano in some way cause my daughter plays the piano so she put the piano keys around the bottom which was very cute.

Beautiful cake! I LOVE the piano idea! That would be perfect for my DD, if I ever order another cake (also love the Mother/Daughter theme)!

Here are pictures of the Christmas cake that I had delivered to our room at the Wilderness Lodge. It was gorgeous..THANKS BRIAN!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Gorgeous cake! I especially love the gingerbread men - what a cute touch!

Those cakes are all beautiful!

You should be able to get this at GF, Cont., or YC/BC. All of them make beautiful cakes. I'd decide where I wanted to eat, making a dinner ADR at one of these 3 resorts, then call & ask for private dining in that location.

I ordered a cake through Pat for our end of October trip. She was very friendly but kinda flighty. I originially wanted to customize a 6" too but was told it would have to be 10" if I wanted it customized.:scared1: I told her that it was too much cake. She kept saying that I could only customize a 10". I told her I'd seen it done on an 8" and she said I was mistaken. Then later on, she told me I could get a customized 8". It was strange. Anyhow, I have no idea how they arrive at their prices. I wanted a tinker bell themed chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. They messed up the buttercream, it was actually chocolate instead of the vanilla I'd ordered. My cake cost $100 plus tip. I'm not quite sure how it added up to that, but Pat said that it would cost that much. Since we were celebrating my DD10's b-day at Disney, not at home, I didn't mind spending $ on a cake but I was very disappointed in the taste and texture of it. Now, having said all that, there have been many people here who've gotten fabulous cakes that looked and tasted good. Good luck!:goodvibes
