Ijust wanted to let you know that I called the CR cake hotline and explained my situation of wanting a custom cake for DD 15th bday at Tony's. I explained that I had every door slammed in my face and the very wonderful Sally explained that if i wanted to pick the cake up from the Wave in CR and take it with me that is something that they could do. She gave me Jessi's email address, let me know she was off that day and that she would forward on to Brian my email. Brian and i have been corresponding ever since and now my DD will have her beautiful Belle cake!!
I guess what i am saying is don't give up. I spent alot of lunch hours at work trying to pull this off.
If you choose for the cake to be delivered to your room, is there an extra charge?
I ordered a pirate themed cake for my ds12 for next week at 1900 PF. Pat gave us a idea of what they will do, but I'm confused on one thing. She said they would use chocolate fondant....is that the same as the chocolate ganauch frosting I've seen on several photos in this thread?
Is there a website that give prices and variety of cakes?
We just got back from a wonderful trip to the world yesterday. I'd ordered a cake from Pat at the Grand Floridian Bakery. I ordered a 8 in vanilla with raspberry filling, white choco ganache with red frosted roses and a white choco cinderella slipper.
I'm not sure what happened but it came out to our table as a marble ganache (specified to Pat that we can't eat milk chocolate. It makes me ill) and the cake had one pitiful white frosting rose bud that had collapsed, the slipper looked like it was slipping of the cake.
We so disappointed that we couldn't even eat it because of the milk choco in it. The coloring of the cake was just ugly. Unfortunately we'll probably never order another cake. It was just too expensive to throw in the trash can.
We had the Mickey Head Cake in June, the ganache tasted like very rich and thick milk chocolate. Kind of like bitting into a bar of chocolate. It was soft and chewey and milky, I loved the taste.![]()
You don't eat the fondant - you peel it off and there's buttercream frosting underneath, so it tastes just like eating a regular cake.![]()
I ordered a cake through Pat for this Sat. and she did not take credit card info from me either. She said the same, it will be added to our bill. She did take our reservation # though.
I'm very disappointed with Disney cake ordering process(CR and GF). For the same cake posted on this thread, I was always quoted a higher price. Depends on who you talk to, I was quoted different prices. And sometimes I was told I can get a customized 6 inch, sometimes I was told the least size is 8. Why the inconsistencies?
We ordered (from AKL) a birthday cake with green fondant, leaves and vines, and a chocolate elephant on top. Vanilla cake, white frosting, and chocolate fillling... hope is turns out as pretty and as yummy as I am dreaming!
