Does anyone have a pic of Toy Story theme cake or Buzz Lightyear? We're eating at 1900 Pak Fare one day and I wanted to order one! TIA! April

Wow! that is alot of memories and tough ones for a cake. BUT... if I were doing an Anniversary cake and wanted to think of Disney here is what I would do. I would do a simple cake like the one below and instead of Mickey and Minnie get the large white chocolate castle. I think it is simple, elegant and who doesnt think of Disney with that Castle on there? It would kind of tie everything together for you. Maybe they could make the fondant your wedding colors or put flowers on there with your wedding colors to tie the two together!

This is one of my top considerations. Especially incorporating our wedding flowers.:goodvibes

I have been pouring :surfweb:over these threads too and now am SO excited :cool1:to suprise the hubby for our anniversary in December. I would suggest, and I think I am going to go with, a theme or character that he loves and let him go with it. I'm going to try to find out his favorite ride or part of Disney and let the designers go wild with it...that is what made that HM cake SO AmAzInG!!!! If it were me I would want something simple and romantic:love:, but I think for dh he would much prefer something more intricate and worth the hefty price tag;)

I can't wait to see how everyone's cakes turn out in the coming months!!! I didn't even know about these personalized cakes before today and I have already read through most of this board! I am addicted! :rotfl:

I really wanted to do his favorite ride (with the kids, and one of mine too). It would be the Tomorrowland Speedway. DH is a Nascar nut! He will be getting the Rookie Experience at the Richard Petty Driving Experience that morning and had thought about doing a Tomorrowland Speedway themed cake. BUT, who really wants a racecar themed anniversary cake?!!? Give me some romance!:lovestruc
We do have a lot of fond memories on this ride, with and with out the kids~

aaarrrgghhh........I want to order a cake for my children (dd4 and ds10) for the 18th Sept for our dinner at 1900 park fayre....we are not realy celebrating anything, just my daughters first trip to the world.

Anyway after looking at this thread for months and getting lots of ideas, I have decided I want a pirate and princess theme, to try and please both of them with 'have a magical trip' written on it....

......well, here is my problem..........I can't get hold of Pat, all I get is her answer machine, I have left messages but I'm not sure she will phone me back as I'm in the UK................aaarrgghhh

Not sure when you tried, but her regular days off are Sun/Mon. This past weekend she was also out on Sat. When I have spoken with her/received emails it has been after 8 pm EST and even Midnight EST. So that would be roughly 1 am to 6 am your time....I presume she wouldn't call you at those hours. Maybe try and leave an email address she can reach you at on the answering machine? I hope you are able to catch up with her.

Wow this is news to me too! I have never heard of a restaurant holding the leftovers because of health reasons. And normally CRT does their own cakes, I have never heard of one being delivered from a resort? :confused3 I would doublecheck on this information if I were you because I would hate for you to be disappointed. :sad2:
I called again today just to check like you said I was told everything is a go and I will receive my cake as ordered. I will post my experience when I get back. Who knows what will happen as I have read these boards as well. I sure hope she knew what she was talking about for she was the Pastry Sous Chef at the CR. Originally She did say she would handle the order so if she is sending it somewhere else I have no clue. I was just told yep we can do your exact cake after she looked at the e-mailed picture and it can be deliverd there. When I called the bakery location that handles CRT the lady said they didn't do the custom cake I wanted and I was refered to CR. This cake thing can be crazy confusing sometimes. As for them saving it that was just what I was told if they do not hold it... no biggie for me there are 9 of us probably gona finish the sucker off YUM. I will post if they hold leftovers till dinner or not when I return.

I was advised by Marie at the CR cake line to send an email to Brian and (sorry I forget the other name). She gave me a direct email for them and also one for the pastry sous chef at the Cali Grill. I sent them an email early today. When should I expect a response? The cake is for a dinner one week from today.

You worked with Jessie right? Not Sally? I may call back and see if I can get my cake ordered for Chef Mickey's delivered to CRT instead as I had originally planned. Send me some pixie dust :wizard:

SO I called yesterday afternoon to the CR private dining and talked to lovely gal who's name I cannot recall- she gave me the usual routine about the 6in and even the 8in cakes cannot be custom and that I would have to get a 10in if I wanted it custom, I politly explained that I was not interested and that I would need to talk to someone else... she then gave me the email address of Jessi and said that she was not allowed to make custom arrangements for cakes smaller than the 10in.
So I will send off the email today to start planning for my baby mans 2nd birthday cake, hoping to come up with something boy fun and praying for my cake to land in cakemanbri's lap.

Will update as the saga continues.

Can I ask is what size this cake is? We are going to order on for California Grille in a couple of weeks with this frosting and I am not sure what size it has to be in order to get this kind of frosting with marble cake and custard and strawberry filling. Thanks so much.

Thoughts on this and some help please!

I backed out on the cake for our 25th last year and have been kicking myself ever since. Stupid......

We are unexpectedly going again this year to celebrate 26 years and that BOTH of our kids are out of college! Yeah!!!!!

What I would like is that adorable little cake on the previous page with the castle instead of M&M, yellow roses since they are our fav, and then just some little pretties. Don't want/need anything large since its just us. Think I could get this done for a fair price or is it going to be nutsy?

We'll be having TS dinners at Jiko, Cali Grill, and hopefully Ohana. I'd love it for the dinner at either CG or Ohana. If I can't do the cake I'd love a "special" dessert with yellow roses at CG. Any thoughts on how/if that can be done?? Even if its just a nice dessert with yellow real or fondant roses tucked on the plate. I'm not too fussy and I just want to surprise my Bear.

Thanks
K

I wonder if they are getting soooo many requests that are starting to limit what they will do. One way to reduce the number of orders is to make the minimum so large that it weeds out the people that really only wanted the 6" either due to price or amount of cake that would go to waste.

I have been emailing back and forth to Jessi and she said it would be no problem to do a 6 inch custom cake for me. She may be the way to go for getting what you want. I din't even discuss it with the cake hotline people. As soon as I said "fondant" she said I would have to talk to Jessi and gave me her email.

Will you share Jessi's email with me? You can send a PM if you want.

Thanks!

We're headed back down in December :cloud9: and DH mentioned he'd like to get another cake this time. Last time I had a birthday cake from the GF which was wonderful. We are doing a breakfast at CRT but are going to do the glass slipper desserts there since I didn't want to drag a cake around all day.

We're staying at the Boardwalk Inn ~ does anyone know we could get a cake delivered to our room from the Boardwalk Bakery or would we need to pick it up? Figured I'd see if anyone here had an answer before calling this early

Thanks :)
