HELP!

In July I'm flying down to see my sister (current cast member) to celebrate her birthday. I only just discovered this thread and never knew you could purchase custom cakes and have them delivered or brought to your table! I love the designs I've seen so far but I wish there was some sort of catalogue I could flip through... I'm such a visual person, it's hard for me to explain what I want and how I want it to look :headache:

Does the cake you order depend on where you are ordering it from? Or can you order any customly designed cake from anywhere and have it made for a specific ADR? :confused3

For example, we have an ADR at Le Cellier for a late dinner. I would love to have a birthday cake brought out at the end of our meal to surprise my sister. It'll be just the two of us. Maybe something Finding Nemo themed? That's the thing, I have no idea what I want or how to explain it! I know she likes Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Winnie The Pooh, and Pluto.... does that help? Suggestions please!

We are planning on celebrating my DD's 9h birthday whilst in Dinsey in August. I would like to order her a birthday cake, but have no idea where to start. I do not want to spend to much ( i guess around $50)

Are the cakes better at GF, do i need to dine at one of their resturants, are their cakes more expensive?

I was thinking of celebrating on our last night, which is at Whispering Canyon.

Any help or advice on where to start would be great!!!

While I have not had a GF cake, lots of people have raved about them. They look nice too. I'm sure someone more informed will chime in. I'm planning to have a GF cake for my in-laws at Narcoossee's and then another for my DD9 at 1900 Park Fare. :goodvibes

ok just to make sure.

We are staying at the Contemporary. The MK bakery gave me a number to call Chef Mickey's.

Will they deliver to our room?

Hi everyone. I will call directly to find this out but does anyone know if I can have a customized cake made by the Beach Club and delivered to the Cape May Cafe? Thanks.

I think I'd try calling the Contemporary in-room dining first and see what they say. But Chef Mickey's can probably help you.

Contemporary's main number: (407) 824-1000

This is the "Official Cake Hot Line number" (407) 827-2253 so give them a call and see what they say.

For the Contemporary call the cake hotline it wil direct you to the CR and from there you actually get private dining and they take care of the cake order for CM. I placed in order with them a few weeks ago for CM. For Cape May Cafe, also call the cake hotline it will give you the option of the BC/YC etc... than breaks it down further for CMC etc... Good luck I called last night for a cake for CMC and the CM was supposed to call me back within 10-15 mins about my request for a custom cake and I still haven't heard back almost 24 hours later. If you are going to order a simple custom cake you than you should be fine. He had to see if the bakery could make what I request.

I just don't see to uderstand how some people seem to get what they want when they order a cake and I keep getting talked into the podium cake, until I tell them what I want, and I thought there used to be an option of bavarian creme with strawberries for between the layers, I asked at both CR and BC and they avoided the question. Oh well guess I will just keep trying to be happy with what we do get, hopefully!

Does anyone know if there's is anywhere that will make a cake with Splenda for a diabetic?
I found out the answer to my own question. I was able to order a cake from the Boardwalk Bakery for a diabetic. The only option I had was vanilla but that's fine. I'm just thrilled that we have an option.

Glad you were able to get a cake. I hope it is an amazing cake!

I'm speaking of the ones they are promoting for the What are you celebrating? promo. Was thinking of ordering one for my kids but curious as to how much they cost.

Thanks.

:)
if you are talking about the ones in the treasure box they are $15.00 each. I ordered two for each of my daughters.

Here's my question . . .

I want to order a Mickey cake for Chef Mickey's and it will just say 'Welcome to Disney World' on it . . . but here's the thing, I'm afraid they will stick candles in it and ruin the cake before I get a pic! It's not for a birthday, but even if it was, I wouldn't want candles in it before I got the picture! I'm crazy, I know!
So what has been you guys' experience?
Are the candles already stuck in the cake when they bring in out?

What about on cakes that don't say Happy Birthday or anything?

One more quick question . . .
Can you have a cake or slipper dessert at 1900 Park Fare during breakfast?

Thanks everyone! Loving all the cake pics!

Has anyone had a cake while dining at Leceiller? And what was it? How was it? and $$ range? Just curious as this is where we will be on our last night September 2nd and DD's 15th Bday is the 12th so I would like to get a cake for this day to celebrate it Disney Style! Any ideas anyone???????? I thought of the choc slipper but then DS will be mad he didn't get any so it will have to be a cake! Open to suggestions for 15yr old DD. Nothing over the top or real expensive because she will be having a party right after we get home just something nice while we are there!

We ordered the mickey head cake last year for my dad's birthday. They didn't write on the mickey head, but they wrote "Happy 62 Birthday Pop" on the gold piece underneath. They didn't have any candles stuck in it and it was a birthday cake. (Maybe because the number was 62 )

As for the Slipper dessert at CRT, I personally haven't done it but I have seen pictures on these boards in dining reviews where they have had the slipper dessert at breakfast.
Bon appetit!

We had the Mickey head cake delivered to our room at AKV last summer. It WAS for my two daughters' birthdays, but they didn't put the candles in the cake. They wrote on the gold board that the cake sat on and they gave us a box of candles on the side. I don't think I have ever seen on any of these cake threads where the candles were pre-applied to the cake, so you probably don't need to worry! :goodvibes

When you had it delivered to your room, did you have to specify a time.

How did that work?
