:tink:This is the cake I want for my 10 year old Grand Daughters Birthday at Park Fare, she'll love it! Now, can someone please tell me how to order it? Do I email the picture of the cake to the hot line describing it and ask for a price, giving them my phone # ? Or do I call and try to describe the cake to the helper and hope for the best?
Advise would be appreciated.
Thanks for posting the pictures 1st time disneyer

When I ordered it at Jiko I was told my only options were all chocolate or all white/vanilla. Oh, I forgot to mention how surprised I was by how tall the cake was. I guess from the photos here, I expected it to be shorter :rotfl:

Thanks for replying!! (And you too CaribbeanPrincess- apparently multi-quoting is beyond my technical abilities! :rotfl2:)
Of course, before I read your replies I'd decided on chocolate cake with white icing- all white and my dad won't eat it, all chocolate and my mom won't! So I guess I will figure something out...
Thanks again! :goodvibes

This cake was a person design, I did for my mom. It was everything I know she loves. I am glad eveyone likes it.

Great thread! I have read through most of it and love looking at the pics of all these gorgeous cakes!

I will be staying @ the Grand Floridian 7/7-7/13. My hubby and I will both be celebrating our birthdays (his on the 9th and mine on the 11th) and I am just dying to surprise him with a cake :)

Since I am staying at the GF I keep going back and forth on whether or not to have one made and sent to the room or maybe eat lunch on property and have it brought out as a surprise. With the concerns of servers ruining the surprise, I am leaning towards the room delivery....which brings me to one of my questions. Those who have had it delivered to the room, do you specify a time to deliver it or a time range? If a time range how close to the range do they show up? Should I leave the AC in the room down low so the cake won't melt?

I figure we will hit a park in the morning and after lunch head back to the room so I am trying to think of a good time to have it delivered so it will be there but not have been just sitting there for hours :confused3 Oh it would be so much easier if I did a ressie and had it delivered during lunch!!

Lastly does anyone know if you bring your own cake topper, if they would use that? I have a castle topper (looks just like Cinderellas Castle) I picked up years ago that I would love for them to incorporate into a 2 tier wedding type cake. If not, then I am totally clueless. All I know is he is turning the big 3-0 and I want this cake to be awesome!!

Thank goodness I still have a month to figure this out. Any comments, thoughts or suggestions are welcome :thumbsup2

I was very worried about ordering a cake this trip because last year the cake we ordered was horrible. But this one was GREAT.

Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Buttercream Icing
White chocolate filling
White chocolate Mickey topper.
Cost $80.00

Sci Fi Restaurant at DHS.
Some of the pictures are kinda dark because it is so dark in Sci-Fi.

They hand painted the Mickey.

The waitress said everyone in the kitchen was so impressed with the cake. She said they had never seen one like it before.

We are planning a WDW trip for next year. If we go when we want to go, both myself and my DS will have a birthday while on the trip. His is 1/08 and mine is 1/10. I was thinking about getting a birthday cake for the two of us. When you have them delivered to a restauarant, do they box them up afterwards? How much of a pain are they to deal with in the park? I'm leaning more toward having it delivered to our room while we are in the park, so we don't have to deal with totting it around. We are planning to stay on the Atrium Club level of the CR if that matters. Also, I have an idea for a cake, but what to see if guys will think they will do it. DS10 loves Stitch, so I was thinking of a Stitch themed cake with purple fondant. I would like it to be a 2 layer round cake. I would love for them to take out a small amount of the cake after it's fully decorated, so it looks like Stitch took a bite out of it (maybe about as wide as a couple of slices and about 1/4 to 1/2 of the way to the center). Then one of those scrolly looking chocolate sign thingies with a note from Lilo saying that she was "Sorry that Stitch took a bite of his birthday cake". I'm not worried about loosing some of the cake, b/c it will be more than we can eat since we will be on the DlxDDP.

I think that is hilarious!! If you end up getting this cake made, you absoulutely must post pics!

I wont be going til' July and am having Cake drama myself so I can't answer your specific questions but I will certainly be posting my experience when I get back!

OT- I just noticed you are in Keller, I am in Arlington....Small World!

All these cake pictures are making me hungry! Here is a pic of the cake I surprised DH with for our 1-year anniversary.... Got it from Grand Floridian Bakery in 10/08, I believe the price was around $70 and it was all chocolate... boy was it yummy!

I know Disney is very accomodating with food allergies.
I read someplace (maybe this thread?) that they can do dairy free cakes.

Anyone know if they can do GLUTEN FREE and DAIRY FREE cakes?

Thanks!

Hi All,
My family and I are are heading to The World in just a few weeks  While we are there I will be celebrating my b-day. On the night of my b-day we are eating at 1900 Park Fare (it was my favorite from last year) - Anywho.. from the dine line I ordered myself the Princess Surprise Cake ( I will act surprised I swear !) Now I am wondering- Has anyone else ordered this ? Anyone have any pics of it ? Is it White or Chocolate cake ? Was it worth the 15 dollars ? Now I also must add - we are on deluxe dining for 11 days - and with desert at every meal I feel this may be a little much - but it's my b-day! (And we were there for my b-day once before and things did go so well that day) I am hoping the cake will be small -I would hate to have to throw away a larger cake because we will not be leaving to the park with any cake. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And if someone has ordered something smaller in the same price range that was way better please let me know !

I am not sure this is the same thing or not. We ordered for DD three weeks ago from CP. It was a small pound cake with frosting and sprinkles. Not very tasty but for DD it was all in the presentation and that everyone in the park was singing for her. It had a small child's foam mirror, a princess flag and came in a small pink plastic treasure chest. Great for a little girl (don't think I'd get it for myself) - not a tasty treat but does get lots of attention.

Hope this helps! :)

I will be sure to post picture. I just hope they will do it and it turns out as cute in real life as it does in my head.

You are close. I haven't been able to make the last several meets, but we do have DFW DIS meets if you can make them.

Thank you so much - that is exactly it. And I will be canceling it immediatly to save myself embrassment !! Pound cake - gross !! I guess I will try to call tomorrow and order that cute slipper desert I keep seeing on the cake board ! I just really want chocolate cake - so this may need futher research!
Thanks for saving me

After my $140 quote for a 10 inch cake covered with fondant with a bow :scared1: , I finally ordered my DD's bday cake today. It will be a 10 inch chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and chocolate buttercream icing. The CM said they will put Mickey's on it and probably some flowers. The cost is $48 from the Poly. Can't wait!

I really want the Mickey head cake for my DH's birthday. We have a 3.05pm ADR at 50PTC - what are the chance of them holding onto it after we leave to restaurant for us to collect when we leave the park?? - or would we be better taking to back to hotel (POFQ) after we've eaten and then coming back to DH for F! (how long would this take??)

Appreciate your comments :)

Bump !!

Can anyone help..... please? :)

I love this thread and have been following it for a while.

My DD's 5th bday will be while we're at the parks. By her request, we're scheduled for a dinner at CRT. Perhaps a Cinderella-themed with the chocolate slipper on top? (I'm stumped for ideas, which seems odd for me.)

I am thinking about ordering a "Just Because" cake for my mom. She's a teacher who loves to read, and her favorite character is Belle, so I'd like something themed along those lines. Does anybody have any suggestions or perhaps pictures of cakes that have been ordered for a book-lover? TIA!!

CRT held our cake for us, but that was back in 2006, so it may have changed by now. It won't hurt to ask, though!
