I've been trying to figure out for weeks what kind of cake to surprise my DH with on his 38th b-day. This sounds like something I might want to order also. Is there a pic of it anywhere?

There's photos in the Official Cake thread II that has since been closed because it was too big. Look HERE

Does anyone know if they still have the Cinderella cut out thingy? DD said she wants a cake with the castle on top and all the princesses around it, but i have only seen tink and cindy. Anyone know about the others? She would want Aurora, Cindy and Belle. Our trip isnt until Sept so we have time lol....the cake will be fore 1900PF

We are coming up with ideas for our daughter's 3rd birthday cake in August and we thought of a really cool idea but it would require pictures/images of different characters on the sides of the cake and were wondering if anyone has ever done that?

Here's what we were thinking.....not sure if they can do it but here's our idea. Making the cake like Cinderella's castle and around the sides of the cake have images of all our daughter's favorite characters. What do you think? Just our starting ideas. :confused3

Wow that is amazing!

since I was thinking of doing a castle, I also noticed they have a mini cake with a white chocolate castle on it. Does anyone know if they make that bigger? I was thinking that maybe something like that on the top of the cake would be cool. Just starting to think of ideas so any help would be great!! :)

Thank you!! :)

They can add tiers to the cakes, but that makes it more expensive. Don't remember by how much. It's a good amount of cake though if you don't want to get a 10 inch one. :)

That was our cake last year. I'm hoping this year's cake will be equally amazing.

I talked to Pat at GF, a 6 inch castle cake was quoted at $36. If you want to add images, it will drive the price up significantly. (A few pages back I posted about my problems trying to order either a mini wedding cake on a 6 inch cake or a standard castle cake on a 6 inch cake and was quoted $120..... :scared1: ) I used another resource and am getting the first option (three tiers) for $70. I'll post pictures when we get back.

Can't wait to see it!

We were thinking of a 10 inch cake. I want it to be super special for her so I am really putting a lot of thought it in. Hopefully we will get one special for her! :)

Ok guys, I need opinions. I'm not sure what to order. The cake we want is basically a suprise for everyone from my part, a Welcome To Disney cake. But I'm not sure which one to get. I am debating between two Celebration Cakes: One Princess and one Pirate, but I'm not sure about the taste or if they will feed all seven of us, and a 8 inch White Buttercream cake with confetti and writing on it. The prices would be very similar, but I want the best taste mainly.

What do you guys think?

The $15 princess celebration cake was not that big. It was ok. We liked the cupcake we got from Chef Mickey's better. It was fresh where as the celebration cake is kept in the cooler and when we got ours it was cold. My kids (1 & 2 year olds) did not eat it they wanted to keep eating the cupcakes. Honestly it ended up in the trash. But I will have to say that they did forget to give it to us and I had to remind them about it so maybe if it was not for that they would have had it out of the cooler and it would have time to get to normal room temperature at least and it would have been better. Both my husband and I said I wish we did not remind them of it! It did look cute though and my kids liked the pink box and mirror which they still play with so it was worth it! We even got a cute picture of Donald looking at himself in the pink mirror which was cute! My daughter thought that was funny! Just my opinion on how it was for us.

When: May 5, 2009
Where: Rose & Crown, Epcot
How Much: $45

I received my Plan B cake at Rose & Crown. I believe it was made at the R&C itself.

I was supposed to receive a call from the cake hotline if I wasn't going to get Plan A (cake with strawberries on top), but I did not, which was no big deal. However, if you say, you are going to call, then call.

It was there for our 6:40pm ADR and it was very pretty. Plan B cake was Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) on it, but with the standard vanilla custard/vanilla buttercream with "Happy 15th Birthday Jenna". There was no other options.

In my particular case, the 15 yr old and the 35 year old both had meltdowns (weren't hungry, whining, etc), so I canceled the ADR and had the cake boxed up and we ate it in the American Ampitheater after Illuminations.

IMHO, totally not worth it. It was good and the chef seemed impressed with it, when she rang up the cake. The desserts that they have probably would have sufficed. I think the 'fancier' type cakes are for resort dining.

Hmm...given the mostly poor taste and customer service reviews on here, I think I might skip the cake. I can still get a celebration cake by asking my server, right? Will they have a candle for it?

I always find it is better to try things yourself to make a decision. I might have had a different experience if mine had not been so cold! I am pretty sure you can order on from your server. I do not think they have candles there but I am not 100% sure!

Whew! OK I called Pat at the Grand and put in our cake order for Citrico's on 5/29. My good friend Kirsten is coming with her family for her daughter Julia's 3rd birthday. They got the pink Minnie Mouse cake last year at the Yacht Club. That one cost $75 this one is quoted at $140 so BIG jump from last year. Pat also said no TIW discount but I think they said that last year and we got one. Who knows. Anyway I asked for a Tinkerbell cake. 10 inch, marble cake, custard filling with strawberries/maybe raspberries. Green fondant with vines and leaves, butterflies and dragonflies, White chocolate Tink on the top with "Happy Birthday Julia", purple, green and white flowers on the top. Lets see what magic they create. Pictures will be posted soon.
