This cake was delicious! I did have trouble getting it to the table. I wasn't sure how it worked so I told DH I was going to the bathroom and went next door to ask for the cake and I was told to just tell our server that we had a cake at the bakery so I did. We sat and waited for about 20 minutes after our meal and I had to fake a bathroom break again to remind them and after another 15 minutes it came out. Was a great cake tho. Exactly what I asked for and wanted.

Price around $70 for the cake & $125 for the white chocolate topper
Date Received 7/1/07
Location Grand Floridian Cafe
Cake info - Chocolate cake with strawberry and custard filling, whipped cream frosting
DH asked for something to basically shock me. Well it worked! Since I didn't get the castle topper on my wedding cake he got it for me. A CM came and took a photo of me with it which I thought was neat. It also was delicious.:cloud9: Sadly the topper didn't make it through our last hurricane due to lack of power. :sad2:

We will be at WDW in August for DDs 10th Birthday, she is a typical tween. She is really into Jonas Bros., Hannah Montana (a little), Zach & Cody, and Wizards of Waverly. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can include any of these on a cake for her. I'll be getting it from the BW Bakery, with the custard and strawberry filling. I'm not a big fan of the imposed pictures but if that is all I can get, that's what I'll do. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Here is a list of our dining places....which one would you choose to order a DS (7) and DD (5) birthday cake???

Chef Mickey's - Dinner
Crystal Palace - Dinner
Spirit Aloha Dinner - Early Dinner
Tusker House - Breakfast
...or pick up a cake at Board Walk Bakery??

**I would like something done in fondant with mickey & minnie on it....bright colors - red, yellow, black....(mickey/minnie) colors.

I am searching for a picture....of what I would like to order, but I need some opinions.....Thanks!!princess:

BW Bakery did a lovely bridal cake with fondant on a thread here. It was gorgeous. That would get my vote.

Apologies for not reading all of the thread. I thought I recall reading that Disney does not do cakes with characters like Tigger.

It's my wife's 40th birthday and she's Tigger crazy. Before I call the cake hotline, is anyone aware of any Tigger cakes...if they exist.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Will the Yacht and Beach club deliver a cake to your room? We are staying at the Beach Club the first week of June. All our dinner plans are at Epcot, Boma, and Raglan Road. I think we may do Cape May Cafe the morning we check-out for breakfast.

I would really like it if they could deliever the cake to the room one afternoon/evening and have it there as a surprise for DS when we come back.

The cake I posted above was delivered to our room at the Beach Club and I did the exact same thing - had them deliver it the afternoon of our anniversary to surprise DW.

I think its because Disney do not have the rights to do the Pooh characters:confused3

I think that's correct. On the first page of the Cake Thread Part II it states you can't do pooh characters or pixar, here's the link:

Too bad because my 6 year old is crazy for Tigger too!:goodvibes

I'm pretty sure it is no longer the case....you can now get both Pixar and Pooh characters on cakes. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if the Yacht Club bakery will deliver a cake to a room at the Boardwalk? Or would I have to go through the Boardwalk Bakery? I just think that cakes at Yacht Club are nicer and everyone raves about how good they are.

If they will, they are sure to charge you a large delivery fee for it. In general, you can only get a cake from the bakery at the resort you are staying or dining at. Maybe you could make an ADR at the Yacht or Beach Club?

This is great news about Tigger cakes! :goodvibes Has anyone ordered one yet? Would love to see photos.

DS will celebrate his 21st birthday in 2 weeks at Yachtsman and before I call Y&B bakery and order one, I'd love to get some ideas.

TIA :cake:

Anyone?

has anyone ever done a star wars cake

We're pretty much on the same boat. My 6-year old kid wants this theme for his next birthday, which is coming next month! I've been browsing around local cakeshops yet so far, the products were kinda odd. I don't want to resort to imposed pictures, but I think that's the only sensible choice since my son wants the faces of the entire lead cast of The Phantom Menace. :(

I think you're going to need to resort to imposed pictures, there may be a small chance that they could make a Hannah Montana white chocolate stand-up, but you'd have to ask. And that would still be an imposed picture on a sliver of white chocolate.

Just go over to the DISigns board and ask if anyone has a thing that they could make for the top of a cake. Or look around and request one. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! I try over there and see if anyone has any suggestions!!

What about Tink? Is she still available?:goodvibes

For the GF they only told me that those basic ones were available Mickey, Minnie, Donald and I think Goofy. They can also do a champagne glass mold or a mickey, mniie mold but those are much more expensive.

I did see someone that posted a tinkerbell mold that was done for a special occasion but not sure if they still have that mold. I would definitely call and ask. Hope this helps:)

Sorry if this question has been asked already (I've been keeping up with this thread daily and can't remember if I had read the answer already), but are the chocolate mold characters available anywhere besides the GF?

Most of the deluxe resort can get a hold of at least a Mickey statue. I got one at the Boardwalk resort by calling their in-room dining.

You would call the resort directly (in-room dining) to see what they can do.

Also, some stores sell them. I saw a couple of them at a cafe in Disney studios where we stopped for some hot chocolate and choc chip muffins.

Also, at Christmas time, the Gingerbread house at GF sells them.
