I called last week to order a cake for Sci Fi for May 18th. I spoke with Sonya and she tried to get me to order the podium cake but I insisted I had another option in mind. I wanted a chocolate cake, with raspberry filling, chocolate buttercream icing with a white chocolate Mickey. This is the specific order from my 10 yo son(the cake is for him). She assured me she would do what ever she could to get me the cake I wanted, well this was last Friday. I waited for a call and never received one so I called back on Wednesday, the CM spoke with Sonya and said they were waiting for the chef to give them a price. Well, she called me back yesterday and let me know that the chef can do the cake and it will cost $80.00. I told her to go ahead with the order. She reminded me that the cake will serve 16, I told her we plan on eating cake for breakfast for several days.............lol. I can't wait to get the cake and I will post pics here.

Does anyone know what chocolate cake toppers you can choose from. I've seen the Mickey ones and also a Donald one on another cake thread. Just wondering if there is anything else.

We were surprised with this white chocolate Tinkerbell at an event at the BoardWalk Inn - seems like it would fit on top of a cake! :cutie:

I'm thinking of ordering the Mickey head cake for my DH birthday.

We arrive at POFQ on 8th June and it's his birthday on the 9th! I think I can order this to be delivered to the foodcourt at POFQ (as we don't have an ADR for that day) so asuming that if this is the case then I will need to call the cake hotline number to order and not POFQ direct??

Roughly how long before I would need to call? :confused3

Additionally, has anyone ever had this cake - what's it like tastewise??

TIA!

This cake is just awesome. Its something I'd love for my dd. Does anyone know what chocolate cake toppers you can choose from. I've seen the Mickey ones and also a Donald one on another cake thread. Just wondering if there is anything else. Maybe something princess. We are eating a 1900 PF for DD's 5th birthday, and I really have no idea what to get. This one has stood out though.

I've seen a Tink that is really cute, but the only princess-y one I've seen is the slipper. I have seen some cakes with printed thin white chocolate stand-ups with princesses too.

Hi

Im a lurker here. :goodvibes

I thought I would pass on the info that Linda is no longer worker in the GF with regards to cake ordering - there is a new lady called Pat.

I called yesterday and Pat returned my call.

Ive ordered a 10" marble cake, with chocolate filling, white buttercream frosting. With a Toy Story/Buzz and Woody theme. It is from our DS to my DH and I ve asked for a 'Happy Birthday Daddy' inscription.

The cost is $75 + tax.

I'll let you know how I get on. We are having it at 1900 Park Fayre on the
24th April.

Hope this info is useful.:goodvibes

Just wondering how far off you all like to call for your cake....Do you like to do it close to the 48 hour mark or months in advance? I like doing things in advance but I am afraid that it will get forgotten about if I call too soon...Because I do know of a person that did order a cake well in advance and it did not arrive...

What are your thoughts?

Call no sooner than 2 weeks, and no later than 2 days, before you want the cake.

So I would probably call around the 12/10-day mark, maybe? And then confirm when you get to the restaurant.

I'm planning to order a cake for my DD9 at CRT. Has anyone ever done a chocolate topper on a cake there? I was thinking of doing a Minnie chocolate topper. Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi Twinkly.

We had the mickey head cake two weeks ago. We had it at Cape May Cafe. I got it for my husbands birthday.

The cake was white cake inside with a buttercream frosting inside between the layers. The cake on the outside was covered in chocolate to make the mickey face. On the edging was chocolate covered rice crispies.

The cake was really good, not too dry and great tasting. Everyone was very happy with it. We had plenty of left-over for the week getting it on the first night. :)

Has anyone ordered a "Lion King" themed cake?
We are staying in AKL this Sept for my DD's 7th birthday and I think that would be perfect... :goodvibes

Price $33

Date Received 06/13/07

Location- Tony's @ MK

Cake info - Only had two options there, choc/choc or vanilla/buttercream - This is vanilla/buttercream. I requested mickey & the gang with primary colors. 8 inch cake

Anything else special about that particular cake- It was amazingly GOOD! It's not as fancy as most cakes posted on here, but was sooo yummy. I'd get it again.

I thought we needed mroe cake pics on here so I pulled this up from 2007. And Yes, that would be the shadow my one year old's hand reaching for the cake! He LOVED it!!

What are my options at Chef Mickey? I hope they don't think I'm too nuts but I'm going to be ordering two cakes for two adults & two kids. Dh, ds1, and ds2 all share a birthday. I can't let my baby turn one with a shared cake though. (Think baby book pics!) I'm thinking the mickey head for the baby, but clueless on what shared cake to do for my husband & older son!

Hi Lilmattie

Thanks for the info here - Sounds like I've made a good choice!!

We're there for 2 weeks and it's only the 2 of us so we should have plently left over for breakfasts!;)

Anyone confirm about the delivery to POFQ and where to call??? :confused3

This thread is great! I need to order a cake to surprise my DH on our anniversary. I'm still working on where to make ADR's for our anniversary dinner and honestly after reading this thread, I'm thinking that I need to go where I can get the best cake! So now it's either going to be the Yachtsman or somewhere at the GF. Ugh, so many choices. I only know one thing.....I want a white or yellow cake, buttercream filling and frosting and fondant.

Usually DH is the one that has all sorts of surprises for me but this year I want to surprise him with a cake. It just seems like there are so many choices!
