You would call the: "Cake Hotline" for Guests requesting celebratory cakes at most Table Service dining locations.
The Cake Hotline number is 407-827-2253 and requires 48 hours notice.

I would call for a custom cake no more than 2 weeks out but no later than a week before to be safe but as you can see from the above quote, they say they only need 48 hours but if it's custom and/or complicated, I'd call a week out.

Okay, I'm looking for opinions.:) We are going to be at BCV in July and it will be our anniversary.:lovestruc

Our first night is our anniversary and we are eating dinner at CM. I know, not exactly romantic!;) It's a first night tradition with the kids. Anyway, should I order a cake for CM or have one delivered to our villa? Would there be any difference in what is available? The one thing that appeals about the villa is we will have the capability to store the leftovers. We are going back to the MK after dinner and I wouldn't carry leftover cake with me.

Any opinions would be great! If anyone has experience with either one of these situations, I would love to hear that too!

Sorry to be a cake pest, but I'd love an answer to my question about tropical mousse filling. Thanks in advance to any and all who can help a gal out! :wizard:

Has anyone here ever had the tropical fruit mousse filling? What does it taste like (i.e. is it heavy on coconut/pineapple, or something else)? Would you recommend it? Anyone have a picture?

I'm not a big frosting person, so I'm thinking a mousse filling would be best. But I can't eat white chocolate and my dad can't eat raspberries. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Rachel,

First off - Happy Anniversary! What a special way to spend it. How many years??

In my opinion since you'll be "on the boardwalk" I would order one from the Boardwalk Bakery. They have beautiful cakes and you could literally just walk over there to pick it up.

Call the cake hotline though and they should be able to help you.

I personally would not want to have to carry the cake around at MK! If you do get one at CM though, you could always get a locker, although in the July heat, I'd hate to see how it would look when you came back. :sad1:

By the way, we just bought into DVC and we can't wait to stay at the Beach Club Villas. We just spent one night recently at the Beach Club and got upgraded for free to the conceirge floor! We LOVED the resort!!!

Thanks!:goodvibes It will be 17 years! I'm definately leaning towards ordering one for the room. It sounds like it will work better all the way around. I really appreciate your input!:)

We are also new owners at AKV:lovestruc I can't wait until our first stay there!

Enjoy your new home!:cool1: :cool1:

Can you call the cake hotline and have a cake delivered to the resort? We are staying at Coronado Springs.

From my understanding and everything I've read before on this thread is that no you can't. The cake hotline will only do cakes for Grand Floridian or any of their restaurants. One of the reasons I choose to have DH's 40th birthday dinner at Narcoossee's. We'll just take the rest of the cake back to the room.

I haven't ordered it yet, but I've been thinking about it since we're under 2 months away from the birthday.

I think you can order cakes from the Boardwalk Bakery but they have to be picked up (they don't deliver either). Not sure if the bakery at the GF will allow you to order and pick up, but I do know they will not deliver.

Sorry but the GF does NOT deliver to any resorts except sometimes to the other momorail resort for a hefty fee. The cakes at POP 'may' come from the Boardwalk bakery but they do not come from the GF.

You would have to call the: "Cake Hotline" for Guests requesting celebratory cakes at most Table Service dining locations. The Cake Hotline number is 407-827-2253 and requires 48 hours notice.

You'd call them and follow the prompts and then see what they can do for you.

They will not deliver anything until you are checked in. You don't have to be in the room when they deliver it but you must be checked in.

Good luck.

Thank you for the reply and for the Cake Hotline number. I'm sure this thread gets the same questions asked all the time so thanks for posting. :)

As of 9:15am on 3/1/2008 -

I called Grand Floridian Bakery, Grand Floridian Private Dining, and the Cake Hotline and followed the prompts to Grand Floridian.
ALL 3 DIFFERENT CM'S I SPOKE TO SAID YOU CAN NOT HAVE A GF CAKE DELIVERED TO ANY HOTEL OR RESTAURANT THAT IS NOT AT GF. GF CAKES ARE ONLY FOR GF RESORT GUESTS OR RESTAURANTS.

I called BW Bakery, and the cake hotline and followed prompts to BW Bakery.
AGAIN, THEY WILL NOT DELIVER A CAKE TO POP CENTURY. YOU MAY PICK UP A BW BAKERY CAKE, BUT THEY WILL NOT DELIVER

Lastly, i called the cake hotline again (thank goodness for unlimited nights and weekends!) and followed the prompts to Pop Century.....and got a voice mail. :lmao: So i'm going to try again later during the day, and again on Monday. See what kinds of cakes they offer, if they will deliver it to the room, and if I can get the chocolate strawberries.

I'll keep you posted!!

You are amazing!!! Thank you so much for doing this.:flower3:

I'll be checking this post daily with the hope of some good news. Thank you again. :upsidedow

We ordered the basket through Disney Floral. fairy_tale_bride here on the dis works there and I order directly through her. We've ordered 2 birthday baskets with her so far and she is so wonderful to work with! I'm sure you can contact Disney Floral directly, but I highly recommend working with fairy_tale_bride here.

Thanks for the tip!

By "Disney Floral" you mean "The Disney Florist" right? Just wanted to make sure. :goodvibes

The cake hotline is for ALL of WDW, not just for GF. You call and follow the prompts to YOUR resort. So the other poster would call and follow the prompts to Coronado Springs and see what they can do for her.

It's true that the GF only handles the GF restaurants. but that doesn't mean that all other resorts don't have another way (another bakery) to get their cakes from.

The cake hotline is for all of WDW. Just follow the prompts to your resort. :thumbsup2

I have a few questions and I am sure if I read through all the pages I could find the answer...I am staying at The CR and will be celebrating my son's birthdays, 10 and 8. They are enamored with Splash Mountain, Space Mountain...and TOT. Has anyone ever done a cake in these forms or had a picture put on a cake of a ride?? Do you think they would accommodate me with this request? If so how much do you think it would be?? Thanks for your help! Also does the CR have it's own bakery?

I dont' remember seeing any pictures of Ride cakes, but that doesn't mean they don't have them. It would most likely be an edible image on the top of your cake, like a picture of the ride that you could eat. I would just call the cake hotline and see what they say. Good luck! And post the pics if you get one! :thumbsup2

I believe if you have an image you would like to be on the cake, you may be able to e-mail to someone and they can use it. When I ordered an anniversary cake from Coral Reef, they asked if I wanted to use our wedding picture.

Ok, so i posted the question about Pop cakes on the Pop Resort thread. 1 person replied that they got a cake there last week. She called the resort direct, and they transfered her to the bakery in the food court. They gave her the option of the general $12.50 vanilla with vanilla cake with the mickey image on it. That was the only option they offered. She asked about Chocolate with chocolate, and they said they could do it, they said that was a special request but they could do it. She would still have to pick it up at the Pop food court.

no room delivery was mentioned.

It was 8 inches. My DD did not let us even cut it till the next day when we got home. She really did not want to ever cut it. We each had what I consider a big slice and there were 9 of us.

Thanks I love the Tink cake!
Since I can't order one at Pop I guess I will order it for Chef Mickey's on her Bday or 50's PT since we are having dinner there the night before. Also after 50's we are going back to the resort so I won't have to worry about he cake spoiling. Thanks for your replies. I will post a picture when we get back.

Does anyone know if you can buy the chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate castles at the boardwalk bakery?

Hi, thanks for finding out the info. :)

So I guess I'm going to have to drive over to the Boardwalk Bakery or the GF to pick-up a "good" cake? :drive:

All well, at least I know my gift basket will get delivered there. Now, if I can only decide where to buy one from? :confused3

Oh, like the previous poster, I would like to know if the Boardwalk has chocolate strawberries too? For pick-up I guess.

Thank you all for your replies.:wizard:

You can only pick a cake up at Boardwalk Bakery, not GF, so that should help you decide.;)

Thank you again Jennifer for all your replies. ;)

Just waiting on the chocolate strawberries question.

Some bakeries/shops do have chocolate covered strawberries. I think the strawberries are available at the candy stop at MK actually. Also, I think they might be available at one of the shops in MGM but I can't remember which one though.

HERE is a Boardwalk Bakery menu located right here on the DIS.
