I have another question. If you have the cake delivered to your room, waht times do they deliver?? Also can they leave it in the room. We are staying at Pop and not sure how this works.

I didn't think you could get a cake delivered to Pop Century. The cakes at Pop are available in the food court because Pop doesn't have a bakery. you would only be able to pick it up there.

Hasn't been true for quite awhile. All resorts offer delivery whether they have a bakery or not.

OP, you should call the cake hotline listed on page 1. There should be a prompt to get you in touch with Pop. Good luck!

I called the GF/Boardwalk bakery and they said they DO deliver to POP...I am not sure if she did not understand me or if they just started, but none-the-less, Sandra told me she could...you might call.

I thought I would give an update on our b-day surprise for my daughter.

Our trip was from Feb. 9-17 and included one night at the Beach Club, 4 nights on the Disney Wonder and 3 nights at Pop Century. Her "actual" birthday was Feb. 15.

We decided not to get a cake this time around because we were doing a few very expensive surprises for her.

We did one surprise every hour on the hour from 6am-11pm.

Here are the hourly surprises and a few pictures ... more pictures will follow in a separate post.

6am: Birthday shirt & room decorated

7am: Gift from big sister (movie "The Game Plan)

8am: Breakfast at Cinderella’s castle

9am: Slipper dessert at Cinderella’s castle

10am: Horseback riding at Ft. Wilderness (this was the highlight of the day for her!)

11am: Card from her Great Grandma who is 102 years old!

Noon: Card & gifts from Grandma

1pm: Card from her teacher

2pm: Card from her Aunt, Uncle & cousins

3pm: Surprise gift from one of our family friends who traveled with us

4pm: Video message and card from her 2 best friends from home

5pm: Dinner at Coral Reef with diver & personalized menu (see picture below)

6pm: Still at dinner – this surprise was the gift basket we arranged

7pm: Surprise from the other family friend we traveled with

8pm: Video & card signed by everyone at our church

9pm: Epcot shopping spree - up to $50 total

10pm: Gift & letter from Dad

11pm: Gift & letter from Mom

Obviously I had to arrange quite a bit of this with family & friends before we left home, but DD felt SO special all day long and I'm sure it is a birthday she will always remember.

The personalized menu at Coral Reef...

Her build your own sundae dessert with chocolate Happy Birthday message (the chocolate was her favorite part :goodvibes )

Here is the birthday cake she was given on our last night's dinner on the cruise...

I don't want to make this post too long, so more pictures coming in the next post.

On our very first day on the cruise, a cm at Pinnochio's Pizza saw dd's birthday button and asked her to stay put. This was the result ... her very own birthday "Mickey-shaped" pizza

FloridaFebruary2008-033.jpg

We decorated her shirt...

102_2449.jpg

It was an Incredibles shirt and in case you can't read it, it said "One INCREDIBLE birthday!"

In fact, we all wore matching "Inredibles" shirts on her birthday.

Here is the slipper dessert I ordered at our breakfast at the Castle. This was the morning of her actual birthday. This dessert was YUMMY! She was kind enough to share a few bites. :thumbsup2

DSCI0159-1.jpg

This was the highlight of all of the surprises for dd ... horseback riding at Ft. Wilderness. Her horse was "Molly."

Here is the gift basket we ordered. This was delivered to our dinner at Coral Reef. It contained a real tiara, a Princess beach towel and a personalized autograph book (with TONS of signatures). It was in the most adorable "Mickey head shaped" basket too.

DSCI0174.jpg

As you can see, we also decorated her ears for her birthday too.

This is the diver we arranged to show a note saying "Happy Birthday Kaylee." Sorry the picture isn't the best, it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO quick, we barely even noticed when it happened.

DSCI0178.jpg

The next day. She wore a birthday button we had forgotten about on her actual birthday and she received this suprise at Sci Fi...

DSCI0208.jpg

Oh, I almost forgot, we also went "mouseboating" for her birthday too. Turning 12 meant she could finally drive!

DSCI0113-1.jpg

Well, that was her magical 12th birthday in WDW.

I don't know for sure how it "usually" comes. I just mentioned to the cm on the phone when ordering it that my dd LOVES  chocolate and this is what she got. I think with the automatic 18% gratuity, it came to like $15 total. It was worth every penny!!!!

Oh, feel free to steal the hourly surprise idea. It was a blast and all day she kept saying "is it time for another surprise?" It was such a fun day for all of us!!!

Can I get a cake delivered to Teppan edo? We will be there for my daughters best friends 5th bday and I wanted to order a cake. We are part of a Grand Gathering. Thanks

Could you tell me what kind of cake that is? My dd will be 13 on cruise but not sure if it something she will like.

I personally did not eat the cake (there was WAY too much food on the cruise all together).

So, I've asked dd. She didn't like it very much, but the thought was sweet!

There was like a yellow cake as the base and a strawberry jell-o/cream mixture on top. It also came with a chocolate "happy birthday" sign, which dd loved.

Oh my goodness that sounds like an AWESOME birthday!!! Your dd is very lucky!

Where did you find the basket, and how did you get it delivered to Epcot? That sounds very neat!

-----------------------------------------

I'm going to have to call the cake hotline now!! Seems like a lot has changed and we may be able to get a good cake at Pop centrury, as opposed to the generic frozen ones that used to be available!! I may have to check that out.......i wonder if they will deliver the chocolate covered strawberries??

Hello everyone.

I was directed to this thread by a very nice DIS'er, so I'm hoping someone here can help me.

From my understanding, I can call the GF bakery and they can deliver a personalized cake and chocolate strawberries to the POP resort, right?

I will be celebrating an anniversary and wanted to surprise her with a basket and chocolate strawberries. Then I thought an anniversary cake might be nice too.

Our actual arrival day is the day of our anniversary. I was wondering, how could I call and make an order if I don't know my room number yet? Will they deliver it to the front desk and then deliver it to the room after I check in?

Has anyone else gone through this? I know that after we check in and relax for a while, we'll be leaving the room to tour the resort a little bit. I wonder if I should give them this information? Oh, and do I just call the Disney Dining number?

I know these are a lot of questions but I'm new when it comes to these sort of things. Well, hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you for reading this post. :)

Sorry but the GF does NOT deliver to any resorts except sometimes to the other momorail resort for a hefty fee. The cakes at POP 'may' come from the Boardwalk bakery but they do not come from the GF.

You would have to call the: "Cake Hotline" for Guests requesting celebratory cakes at most Table Service dining locations. The Cake Hotline number is 407-827-2253 and requires 48 hours notice.

You'd call them and follow the prompts and then see what they can do for you.

They will not deliver anything until you are checked in. You don't have to be in the room when they deliver it but you must be checked in.

Good luck.

I'm a bit confused. Which did you call? Both the GF resort (bakery) and then also the Boardwalk bakery too? Or did you call the cake hotline number? I cannot believe that the GF said their private bakery would deliver to any resort. :confused3

From my understanding, yes, you can get a cake at any resort by calling the cake hotline BUT your cake is NOT coming from GF if you are not staying at GF. They have said time and again that they do not deliver to other resorts. On occasion some have had luck getting a GF cake IF they were staying at one of the monorail resorts and IF they paid a hefty delivery fee or if they were stay conceirge but I've never heard of anyone having luck getting a GF delivered to any other resort.

Boardwalk Bakery does provide cakes to several close by resorts though.

My suggestion to anyone wanting a cake, call the cake hotline (the number is provided in post #1) and see what they can do for you at your particular resort. Just follow the prompts.

They may not be able to do as nice a cake as one from the GF bakery but they can do something. :thumbsup2

I just don't want folks getting confused so that is why I'm asking.

I called the hotline and ordered the slipper dessert for our 20th Wedding Anniversary breakfast at CRT in June. Then called back to order the castle cake for our anniversary dinner at 1900 Park Fare and a slipper dessert to celebrate our daughter's 2nd birthday. Although I'm aware they have the cupcake I really wanted to see the differences between the slippers from CRT and 1900 PF.

party:

Now I have to find out if I can have a :cake: delivered to POR - has anyone done this yet?

As of 9:15am on 3/1/2008 -

I called Grand Floridian Bakery, Grand Floridian Private Dining, and the Cake Hotline and followed the prompts to Grand Floridian.
ALL 3 DIFFERENT CM'S I SPOKE TO SAID YOU CAN NOT HAVE A GF CAKE DELIVERED TO ANY HOTEL OR RESTAURANT THAT IS NOT AT GF. GF CAKES ARE ONLY FOR GF RESORT GUESTS OR RESTAURANTS.

I called BW Bakery, and the cake hotline and followed prompts to BW Bakery.
AGAIN, THEY WILL NOT DELIVER A CAKE TO POP CENTURY. YOU MAY PICK UP A BW BAKERY CAKE, BUT THEY WILL NOT DELIVER

Lastly, i called the cake hotline again (thank goodness for unlimited nights and weekends!) and followed the prompts to Pop Century.....and got a voice mail. :lmao: So i'm going to try again later during the day, and again on Monday. See what kinds of cakes they offer, if they will deliver it to the room, and if I can get the chocolate strawberries.

I'll keep you posted!!

We ordered the basket through Disney Floral. fairy_tale_bride here on the dis works there and I order directly through her. We've ordered 2 birthday baskets with her so far and she is so wonderful to work with! I'm sure you can contact Disney Floral directly, but I highly recommend working with fairy_tale_bride here.
