Will they allow you to have your own cake at CRT? I see the number is on the first page. Is this a good idea? Or would it interfere with the activities at the CRT? We are planning on doing dinner there. Also, do we call each individual place to find out all the options available (flavors, decorations, etc.) or is there a website or thread where we can look them up?

I ordered a cake there for my 40th b-day back in 2005 so it was before the cake hotline. There used to be a MK cake ordering number which is what I called. I do not remember the choices but I do remember it wasn't much. That could have changed though since then.

To order a cake for CRT (or anywhere else for that matter) you just call the cake hotline and follow the prompts and then they will tell you what can be done at that location cake-wise. Not all locations can do much in regards to the options; some can do more than others due to having an amazing bakery onsite. The only way to know is to call.

Good luck!

:wave2: Hi everyone! I was wondering if I could get some help. I can't decide what I should have on the cake I'm going to order for my DHs 31st birthday dinner at Chef Mickeys. His favorite character is Cinderella but I think that might look a little wierd. So I was thinking of maybe doing just a Mickey cake but I want something special. Can they do the chocolate figures? What are some suggestions that you may have? The cake and dinner are from the kids (10 and 3) Any suggestions would be great! Thankspixiedust:

I'd suggest Cinderella and Prince Charming. That wouldn't be weird, and anyway, if he is Prince Charming, then Cinderella WOULD be his favorite, right? ;)

This is a pic of the free cake that we were given during our dinner at LTT. They brough out the cake and congratulated us on our wedding. The cake was yellow with buttercream frosting. It was very yummy and kept well (we brought it home with us on the plane and split it among our family).

Just ordered my cake! Very helpful and sweet on the phone. I called the number on the first page and got a live person right away.

I asked for Star Wars characters and she said she didn't think it would be a problem!

I can't wait to see it and I will post pics when we get back!

Thanks for this great thread!

This is a great thread!

Thank you so much for posting this! I'll be ordering a similar cake tonight! I've been putting off calling, checking to see if anyone has had a Star Wars cake. It's so nice to know it won't be a problem to order one! I know my little guy will be thrilled!!! :) Whoohoo!!:woohoo:

ooo! I never thought of ordering a Stars Wars cake. My DH is a huge Star Wars geek.:rotfl: I'll have to talk that over with the kids!

To order a cake for delivery for our room at por do I go through the cake hotline, then POR then boatwrights? Even though we want it for the room our first night?
Thanks for the help

Hi everyone! I am planning to order a cake for our dinner at Park Fare in January. Despite any negative comments I have heard, this is the place we will be celebrating our DD's 5th birthday! I had planned to get the mini castle cake all along, but now our party has grown. My DSIL and family have decided to join us so that makes us a party of seven, not three. As well, both of my nieces will celebrate January birthdays so I have to include them in the cake thing.

What size cake should I get for the seven of us?

I think that 1900 Park Faire is a great place for a birthday! We spend my DD's 7th birthday there ... here is the post from earlier in the thread:

Cinderella came over and sang "Happy Birthday" ... it was great!

We just had her name piped on top. If you are going for three names that might be the easiest. 8 people ate the 10" cake and we had half of it left. I think an 8" would be perfect with enough leftovers.

That's good to know. Thank you for posting that. We'll probably be getting the smaller cake. We don't need a lot of leftovers!

I just booked a Wishes Cruise departing from the GF... I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get a cake. I would love to have one on the boat for the NEW DH and I to share along with the other 8 DISers who will be joining us. Is there a bakery near by i can pick one up from, or maybe even have on delivered?? Anyone know!

Thanks robinb! I appreciate the info. The 8 inch sounds about right, but we just have to decide what to do on top. Thanks so much for the help and great photos1

Well, I called and ordered my cake for Chef Mickey's. I spoke w/Louise and she was very nice but I think I am a little disappointed. I ordered the 10" inch and thought I would get more choices. I only had the choices of yellow or choc. cake, choc. or white choc. mousse filling, and choc. or buttercream frosting. I asked her about the strawberry custard filling and she said they didn't have that. I should have pressed her more about what was necessary for more custom choices but I hate to question people when I figure they know their job better than I do. But, now I am thinking I'm not very happy. I wanted the yellow cake (got that!), strawberry custard filling, choc buttercream frosting w/ganache if possible. Also, when I asked about the topper she said they put an image on a marzipan disc and put that on top. I'm afraid it sounds like a bigger version of the podium cake and I wanted something just a little more elaborate. Am I whining? I think I am. Do you think it is worth calling back or maybe just less choices due to being at Chef Mickey's vs. GF restaurant?

Some pictures of the Mickey cake we got DS to celebrate his 2nd birthday last month. Mickey is his fave so we went with the Mickey head cake. We ended up not paying anything for the cake because it was frozen (I wasn't aware they'd freeze it) and it hadn't been thawed soon enough so the custard filling was frozen solid. My son didn't care...he mashed the whole thing before he ate it anyway and was sick with a sore throat so I'm sure the ice cold cake and frozen filling felt good on his throat. The manager at 1900 Park Fare was very upset the cake filling was frozen solid, apologized several times, and said there would be no charge for the cake. Frozen filling aside the cake was adorable and DS loved it. It was only the three of us so we had it boxed, took it back to our resort, ate cake for several days and still ended up throwing some away.

Thanks for posting it. It's much higher than I thought it would be. I thought it was a single layer.

I'll figure out tomorrow how to order it for delivery to POR resort.

In the single digits now!!!!!

Ordered the Star Wars cake! :) Yea! One thing to cross off the list. The order went very smooth. Be sure to have your confirmation number handy for the restaurant in which you'll be dining. They'll need it.

Happy to have that done!

Only 8 more days!!!
A little info for those staying at POR.

I went though the prompts on the cake hotline. #7 for POR (and various others) #5 for Boatwrights.

A very nice man took my order. He said the cake is made at the Boardwalk bakery and he picks up the orders from there daily. My options were white or chocolate cake. He did say that nothing could be written on the cake. When I asked about maybe on the board he didn't think that could be done either. I didn't push it but I know it's been done.

Since I want it for the room I need to pick it up at Boatwright's bakery between noon & midnight. I asked about having it taken to the room after check in for a surprise when the boys get to the room after supper and he said that would have to be arranged at the desk. I got the impression it was a hit or miss type of request.

Just a quick question

can you have a cake delivered to a room at CBR? Sorry if this has been asked/answered before.

OceanAnnie, who did you call to get a Star Wars Cake!!!???? My boys will be turning 6 on our trip and LOVE Star Wars. I thought that I had read earlier in this thread that they didn't offer one. I was going to just order a Mickey cake but now I will do anything to get a Star Wars one!!!
Also, does anyone know if they offer a cupcake or small cake at Hoop de Doo for birthdays?
Thanks

Hi, I called the number on the first post of this thread. I needed to let them know where we were dining (by pressing the right key) and the reservation number. Once that was established, it was smooth sailing! I ordered an 8" cake (for $35  ) with vanilla cake and chocolate frosting. I was so excited. I asked if they had some sort of figures for the cake, but they don't. That's ok, I'm sure it's great. They do some sort of screen print. My little guy will also be turning 6, and it will read, Happy 6th Birthday! It's going to be a great surprise!! :thumbsup2
