I want to surprise everyone with a cake welcoming 2 members of our party to WDW. Yachtman steakhouse would be great beause we are staying at the beach club and we can drop it off at the roon quick.

Has anyone ever orsered a cake from the Yatch/beach club.

A small cake would be best there are 5 of us for this trip. I have looked through some of hte photos but got more confused.

Thanks!

Phoned the cake hotline earlier this week. My bday is 17th but our first meal will be at Akershus on 21st. My DD is desperate for Mum to have a cake at WDW and that was fine by me! :lmao:

The CM was very helpful but just a warning, do not do what I have done and read these threads and assume that you can order all cakes at all venues. I have planned for months just the cake I want. :coffee:

At Akershus you can have the $12.50 cake or a choice of two other cakes. A vanilla with creme patisserie or a chocolate with chocolate mousse both for $25 and then can add either a princess picture or a Mickey for an additional $10. princess:

My DD wanted me to have a Snow white cake with white chocolate stand up plaque. If possible she wanted a strawberry filling of some description. She had it all planned (I just had to phone and book and pay - well she is only 5!)

Hoping she will love it anyway. I have secretly booked a slipper dessert for her later in the week at CRT and may book my son a mini castle cake for our first night at the GF (two weeks after arrival):wizard:

Will post pictures when we return.

I have a question. Last year, I ordered my DH a cake while we were dining at the GF Cafe.

This year, we are eating dinner at Narcoossee's, but wanted to order the cake for earlier in the day. We are staying at the GF this time, so I know that we can order it for the room. However, I also have the DDE, which I know doesn't work for in-room dining. Can I order the cake to be delivered to the GF Cafe, and pick it up there? Or do I actually have to eat there to get the cake? Sorry if this has already been asked, and thanks in advance for the help!! :wizard:

So far the only place I've found to get the stand up figures is the GF. Chef M's told me they could do it, but they didn't, so I can only guess that the CM who I spoke with either misunderstood what I was asking for or was mistaken about what they could and couldn't make.

I look forward to seeing your photos! Have a great time!

This happened to me as well. I wanted a Snow White "stand up" cake from CRT but they don't do them. I think one of the previous posters is correct - GF bakery seems to be the only one that does them. Maybe next time we'll try that. But I agree call first then decide on a cake - less disappointing. I'm sure she will love her cake! Have a wonderful time!

Unless something has changed recently, you'll have an ADR to eat there, in order to have the cake delivered to the restaurant. You could schedule breakfast at the GF cafe and pick up the cake with breakfast, or you could schedule to have tea in the afternoon and pick up the cake with tea.

Good luck!

I am so excited I just wanted to share my news! I called the cake hotline today to see about cake options at CBR. The guy was so SWEET I think he said his name was Benny. Anyway, I am getting a 10 inch (yikes!!) marble with custard and strawberry filling with white buttercream icing. He said they will deliver it to the room on her b-day when we are out at BBB and 1900PF for breakfast! It will be so neat to come back to the room and find her cake waiting for her.

It will also have a small picture of The Cheshire Cat (her fav!) and Happy 11th Birthday Savanah written on it. I just can't wait. I am about to explode with excitement as she still know NOTHING about any of this WDW stuff at all!! Thanks so much to you all who post info and photos on this thread. It really is so helpful!! Oh yeah, the price.... he said $40 for the cake and $30-$40 more for the "decorations" My DH is going to die! After all she can only turn 11 once!

We have a last minute trip planned for Thanksgiving week and my son turns 17 on Thanksgiving. Does anyone know if you can get a Disney cake sent to the Dolphin? Also, we have an ADR for Kona for lunch that day, what number do I call the get a cake for the lunch celebration?

My husband,2 daughters and I will be going to Disney for the 1st time at the end of this month. My DH had been working in Florida since August while the kids and I have been stuck in Ohio. Our 7th anniversary was in September and we didn't get to be together for it. (we haven't seen him since August!) I would love to have a small cake brought to our table at one of our character meals but I don't want to spend a fortune! Does anyone have any ideas for a cute anniversary cake that won't cost me an arm and a leg? We will be eating with Chef Mickey and 1900 Park Fare. I would love it to say something about anniversary or 7 years of magic or something. Thanks guys!

I odered the Cinderella Slipper Dessert from CRT. This is what I got. It is different from the other pictures of the dessert that I have seen on here but it was really good. The fruit had a strawberry glaze on it. The thing under the slipper was very good and the moose in the slipper was really good too. We saved the slipper and have it in our freezer now. To keep it until we got home we put it by our air conditioner vent in the room since we didn't have a refrigerater.

This one has a chocolate crown on it from our ice cream sundays.

Maybe the one you've seen was the one that is served at the GF? They do serve it differently and it's a little more expensive.

Here is how it is served at the GF:

It really depends on how much you are willing to spend. Some people don't think anything about spending $40 on a cake, others think that is way too much. You can get a "free" cake for your anniversary at the restaurant. No need to order in advance, just let the check-in CM know. You can view the first couple of pages of this thread to see what the free ones look like. You can also get an 8" cake that isn't custom for around $25, also noted on the first page of this thread. The non-custom cakes come either all white (cake & frosting) or all chocolate. The 10" custom cakes start at around $40. You can choose your cake flavor, your frosting type/flavor, and a filling. It will include some basic flower type decorations. If you want a custom cake, and $40 is within your budget, tell them that you want to keep the cost at around $40 when you order it. They will work within your budget.

Happy anniversary! Enjoy your trip!

Um, there are no free cakes though some restaurants offer free cupcakes. We celebrated our anniversary in September and were given cupcakes at Chef Mickey's, Kona and Crystal Palace. The unpersonalized 6 inch celebration cakes cost $12-$13; you do not need to pre-order at most restaurants but there are exceptions. It's worthwhile to call the cake hotline and verify to avoid disappointment.

I can't post a pic of our cake... but we had one at Chef Mickey's and it was good. We had dinner there last Friday 10/12/07 and I surprised my DH with a cake for our 10th anniversary. I called one week in advance and ordered a 6" chocolate cake and was quoted a price of $16 plus tax and tip. The cake was two layers with frosting in between, had sprinkles on the top and was inscribed "10 years of magic" ...the total cost for the cake was $19.92 (I think) and this included tax and gratuity. Hope this helps!

Thanks for clarifying, jengersnap! The cupcakes won't feed a family but you might be able to split one. You might just want to opt for something off the desert menu too. I did this at the GF tea, but they did do something special... I got really tiara to wear, and they sang happy birthday to me, with a candle in my selected desert.
