I spoke with a CM at GF dining this morning and that's what she told me. That seems so tiny it's hard to believe it's correct. And what's the brown dessert that's on the plate next to the slipper? I asked and the CM didn't really give me the specifics I was looking for. Thanks in advance!

What she did tell me was the slipper is white chocolate and is filled with either mousse or whipped cream. Yes?

Hello,

I have had this twice. It is about 5-6 inches long. And is usually filled with White Chocolate Mousse and topped with 3 or 4 fresh raspberries. In the tear drop shaped choclate shell is chocolate mousse. It is quite good. Some times they have been known to have 3 or 4 different "truffle" in the slipper. This might be done by special request though. Not sure.

Blessings,
Winnie

This is so much better information than I received this morning. It sounds absolutely delicious. White chocolate mousse would be fine, but I think I'll inquire about the truffles. yummmm. . . I'm in heaven just thinking about it!

Many thanks again!

Hi Everyone,

We're back from our trip. DS turned 10 and we celebrated at Chef Mickey's for dinner, but it was so hot, and we knew we were heading back to the MK, so we didn't have his cake delivered there. Instead, I just picked it up at the Boardwalk Bakery, since we were staying across the lake at the Beach Club Villas and had a fridge there.

We went with a 10" chocolate cake, so we could have Donald Duck put on it. It had white chocolate mouse filling and vanilla buttercream icing. The cake was very moist and tasted good and the filling was awesome. The icing was sweet, but very bland and didn't taste all that great. The "edible" picture was thick and tough, so we pretty much peeled it off.

It cost $40 for the cake, and $10 extra for the decoration, plus tax. DW and I thought it was good, but expensive for what we got. The boy loved the way it looked, but he and the other 2 kids didn't really like the filling, so they ate very little. But don't worry...it didn't go to waste!

Here are some pics.

That cake looks WONDERFUL. We'll be celebrating our 10th Anniv at WDW in Dec. Do you know if Narcoosee's will deliver cakes to a resort room?

Hi!
We are doing a wishes cruise in September. The boat is picking us up at the Contemporary, but from what I understand, it is coming from wilderness lodge. Has anyone ordered a cake from Private Dining for a Wishes cruise? Do I have my choice of Resort Bakeries?

Does anyone have a pic of the small nemo cake from the coral reef? I thought I read a few zillion pages back lol... that it was around $12.00

Thank you, RUPSYCHED4DISNEY, that cake is gorgeous. If I could get hold of Linda at the GF, I would be PSYCHED4CAKE, LOL!

Actually they dock the pontoon boats at Fort Wilderness not Wilderness Lodge. And if the boat is picking you up at Contemporary I would try to get the cake from there. And just tell them what you are trying to do. <talking my thoughts out loud> They may try to arrange for the cake to already be on the boat though. I don't know. This is something to check. <done with thoughts>

Has anyone gotten a cake to be on the Wishes Cruise or Illuminations Cruise?
And how did that work?

Hopefully someone will be able to answer my question. My DS will turn 16 on the first day of our visit. He decided he wanted to eat at Raglan Road--do I just ask for a cake at the podium to celebrate with or is there something else I should be doing. My kids would be underimpressed with the beautiful cakes others have had, but that is because I have been making cakes like many of them since they were babies. (Gotta work your way through college somehow!) Anyway, a simple cake to sing happy birthday with would be enough and since he is 16 I'd like to make a bit of a fuss over him. (His birhtdays over the past two years were kind of ick--my grandmother died and he has the fond memory of being a pall bearer at 14, 15 wasn't much better, so I kind of wanted a cake with the dinner.)

Hi everyone! I want to order a birthday cake for my DH, and I was thinking about having it delivered to Alfredo's during our dinner. There is a specific cake that I think he would like (I saw it on this thread). It's yellow cake with strawberry custard filling, a layer of chocolate buttercream, and then a layer of chocolate ganache. I want it to say "Happy Birthday Daddy!" Can I order this type of cake and have it sent to Alfredo's, or do I have to select specific cakes from an Alfredo's cake menu?

Well, nevermind to my last post. I spoke to someone and found out that you do have to order from Alfredo's cake menu. And, Alfredo's is closing, so the last day that they are doing special order cakes is the 24th. I need the cake for the 25th. :sad1: Oh well. So, my next thought was to have it delivered to our room. I called guest services at the Boardwalk Inn, and they said the only cakes I can select from are chocolate w/ choclate frosting or yellow w/ white frosting. How do I get this yellow cake with strawberry custard filling and chocolate ganache?

Thanks again! :)

We are having dd's birthday at Coral reef in dec.My question is do they only do certain cakes at CR?if so what are Boardwalk Bakeries opening hours? We arrive 5days before her birthday,so i could always order one when we get there.

You have to order a 10 inch in order to get strawberries and custard filling from BW Bakery. Did you ask for that size? The base price is $40. If you did as for a 10 inch, I would keep calling Private Dining at BWI until you get the right answer, LOL.

Does anyone know if you can have a cake delivered to the castle? We are having dinner there for my daughters' 16th birthday. The little mini-cake they have just doesn't seem to do it for their sweet 16!

I would wait until you go there. The only need 48 hours to do it. So you will have plenty of time. That is what I did for my daughter a couple of weeks ago when we were at Fort Wilderness Cabins. I just waited until the 48hours before I wanted it. We had we used Wilderness Lodge In Room Dining and then they delivered it to Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness for us to pickup and then we did a little thing in the cabin that Evening before we went to watch Wishes Fireworks from the Beach. It was great. Then we nibbled on the cake that next couple of days before leaving.

Yes, if you call the cake hotline, they will be able to tell you the other cake options available at CRT ... the same sizes and varieties listed on the front page (6 inch unpersonalized, 8 inch personalized with standard flavors and the customized 10 incher are all available)

Here is the 6" cake that we recently ordered at The Garden Grill:
