Can someone please help me with a couple of questions?
Can I get choc strawberrys at 1900 park fare, how much and how do I order:confused3
How do I order the slipper for CRT and can I get it personalized:confused3

I decided not to do the cake because of getting it back to the resort.I thought these might be good alternatives.A cup cake would be perfect but I know you can not expect one(I did have it noted on my ADRS;) )

Call the cake hotline on page 1 for the slipper at CRT. I was told they can order cakes and the slipper there. Anything else and it requires CRT special events and they do not return calls - I am on week 2 without a call back after 2 msgs left. Very frustrated with them!

I don't know whether you can get strawberries at 1900 PF, but I do know they cost around $3 apiece at the BC. I'm assuming they'd be similar in price anywhere. It's another thing you might want to ask at the cake hotline or try GF's private dining number?

Here's a picture of my DDs birthday cake. I ordered it from the Poly. Dining and it was dleivered to O'Hanas during dinner. It was THE WORST cake I have ever eaten! I love cake. My cake and frosting are better than this! It tasted like I was eating Criso out of the tub...blah! The date was this past June '07 . I need to fix the date on my camera. SO it was a recent picture.

I ordered an all vanilla cake on Friday for my parents' 25th anniversary at the Crystal Palace. I added a screened picture of Mickey and Minnie on it, and the total came to $33 plus tax. The CM did not ask me to pay upfront or even give a credit card number to guarantee it, so I guess we shall see. I can't wait!

Make sure when you get there that you tell them you have pre-ordered a special cake. They were confused when we went in January and at first our waitress tried to bring us one of the small frozen cakes until I explained to her that we had ordered a specially designed cake, which took them another 15 minutes to find in their cooler. So just make sure that at the podium and your waitress know that you have already ordered the cake. ;) BTW, our cake from there was really good. :)

Thanks for the tip! And I'm glad that your cake was good!

BTW, my grandmother lives in Salem. I take it you're going to the Haunted Happenings? I'm sure you'll have an amazing time! :)

Well I finally ordered the cake for my DD's 6th birthday, I don't know whether I am happy or sad :confused3:

I originally wanted to have it for dinner at CRT, but when I spoke to the CM there, I was told that no matter what size cake I ordered the choices of filling would be vanilla or chocolate, not what I wanted at all..
So the next on my list was GF, we are having breakfast there, but I figured if we want a special cake it was gonna have to be GF or nothing.

Well I rang private dining and told the cm I wanted a small cake, got the usual info about the pre-made 6", but i told her that my DD really wanted the strawberry and custard filling, she said ok but you will have to order a 10" cake for that. She asked if I was sure I wanted to go that large seeing as there are only 3 of us, and I asked if there was no way that I could have a smaller one with the cust/strawb filling and she said no mam you cannot have that filling in anything other than a 10" so I went ahead and ordered it, but I'm sure there are lots of people on this thread who have had a 6" or even 8" cake with strawberry and custard. I'm glad I got the cake I wanted, but disappointed that we have to have such a big cake for 3 of us, we won't even get to eat it all week as we leave 2 days later :headache:

As anyone got any suggestions as to how to get the small cake I want?

:thanks:

Hello all you foodies!

As promised I am posting pistures of our 23rd anniversary cake. We enjoyed dinner at Cape May at the Beach Club and they brought our cake out for our dessert.

I had originally ordered it from the Boardwalk Bakery as I was getting the run a round from the Beach Club. So they took my order, but I guess they transferred it for me to the Beach Club bakery. It was yummy as ever. I ordered a yellow cake with white chocolate Mousse and fresh raspberries in between, and butter creme icing. It was as good as I remembered from the GF bakery.

It was a 6 inch cake, one layer cut in half. So it was an absolutely perfect size for us. We ate a quarter of it, and took the rest with us. The funny part was they brought out this HUGE box to put it in. They said they didn't have anything smaller. So after dinner we walked to the boardwalk bakery and they gave us a perfect size box.

This cake was priced as fabulous as it tasted, only $12.00 minus 20% with my DDE card! So I was happy!! Here are some pictures:

Does anyone know if they can make cakes for people with dietary restrictions? We are going in October and I'd like to order my fil a cake for his 60th birthday. He is a Type II diabetic that is controlled through diet and pills so a little sugar won't do him in but I'd prefer to get a cake (if at all possible) that isn't so full of sugar that it will send his glucose machine smokin'. I was thinking about possibly ordering one from WCC for his birthday or LTT since we'll be eating there before MNSSHP.

TIA

WOW! You got a 6" customized! Even with special filling. Hmm...why does WDW give some people the run around?
Seems like they are soo inconsistent.
Your cake looks delicious!
Happy anniversary!!!!!!!:cutie: :cloud9:

Oh no, I'm sorry the cake wasn't good! This worries me, so much that I am trying to figure out how to get a GF bakery cake now.

Anyone have a cake at the Poly restaurant that was yummy?!? Kona's desserts are my favorite. The concierge offerings are supposed to be lovely. I never worried too much about the quality of the cake until this post!

Tracipierce, if it makes you feel any better - I - or DH - have spoke to several restaurants, resort private dining and bakeries during the course of planning anniversary or birthday celebrations and every one of them has told me you need to order a 10 inch to have strawberries and custard filling. If someone else has managed it since 9/06 (when I started making phone calls!), it was a matter of pixie dust and not policy.

The strawberries and custard is worth it, believe me. :-)

I just called the hotline to order a birthday cake for my husband at Crystal Palace on August 26th. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to return your call?:confused3 :surfweb: :hourglass

Ok they called me back real quick , so I got to answer my own question. I got my husband and 8 inch chocolate cake with butter cream filling and frosting with "Happy 29th Birthday" and Mickey sprinkles on it for $25 plus tax. Does any one have a picture of what these basic cakes look like?

Can anyone give me their experience with cake orders for the Concourse Steakhouse? For example what kind of cakes you could order, how things turned out. I tried searching but that didn't work and it is so much information to go through. This will be one of our first places for dinner the second night we will be there. It won't be far to tote it back to Fort Wilderness to our Rv to eat on the rest of the week. Yummy!
Thanks guys!

I keep hearing a lot about Linda at the GF bakery. We will be there for my daughters 6th birthday and was wondering what restaurant would be best there for her special day. We're actually staying at the Contemporary but have heard so much about the cakes at GF. I've contacted the CR about ordering a cake but haven't been able to get any help with getting one there. I think GF will be fine. It will have to be for supper because we already have reservations with the storybook dining characters at Epcot for lunch. Can GF cakes be delivered and served to any restaurant there? I'm hoping to get an Ariel decorated cake with strawberry filling.

If you want a GF cake, you should plan on eating a meal at a GF restaurant. 1900 PF has a wonderful buffet dinner featuring Cinderella and Prince Charming - even my boys love it there and we spent MY birthday there last year. Most people have NOT been able to pick up or have GF cakes delivered elsewhere. Never say never - and do try asking - cos there have been a couple - with some people quoted huge delivery fees ($75?) - but usually the answer is a firm no these days. They have more than enough business just taking care of their own resort.

Have you tried calling the CR private dining specifically for assistance there?

We are staying at the GF, but don't plan on having a meal at a TS restaurant there on the day of my DDs birthday. Will they deliver a cake to the room?
