Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

We are staying at the GF, but don't plan on having a meal at a TS restaurant there on the day of my DDs birthday. Will they deliver a cake to the room?

Absolutely, they will. They will deliver their cakes to their guests room and their restaurants.

I made reservations this morning at 1900 Park Fare for supper. Now I'm hoping I can get the cake that I want.

So far we have ADRs for the following:

Lunch @ 50's Prime Time Cafe
Lunch @ Garden Grill
Dinner @ LTT (although that is MVMCP night so I don't want to fool with a cake then)
Dinner @ Concourse Steakhouse

We are staying in our RV at Fort Wilderness so we will be doing some cooking and the cake will be coming back to be munched on during the week.

If you guys had to choose one of these places to get your cake which would you choose? It is just dh & I so we don't need anything to elaborate with characters or anything. It is really to celebrate our anniversary which is a few weeks before we go.
Another option is just going to the Boardwalk Bakery and picking one out. I do really like that Mickey Head cake. Does that have a lot of chocolate? My dh isn't a big chocolate lover. Lucky him.

I know this may be hard to answer but I was just curious. Thanks guys!

Do they only offer sutomization with the big cakes, or does anyone know if I can order a small cake and have it customized?

Posting as promised:

This was for our dinner at O'hana the night we arrived. It was white cake, fruit mousse filling and white buttercream icing. The Tinkerbell (as I was told) was supposed to be a white chocolate Tink for $25. This Tink figure sold in the parks for $11, and I'm not sure why this is what we ended up with, but I was so happy with it, I didn't really care to even ask! The Mickey shape Tink sits on was white chocolate though. When they brought this out, everyone stopped to turn and stare and we heard a lot of "wows!" and "that is so cool!" type comments. Really great way to cap off the dinner and DD was completely surprised!

As for the Lady & the Tramp cake we ordered from the Boardwalk Bakery for our anniversary dinner at Spoodles, I couldn't get a picture - our camera broke on our last day there, so I only have it on our video tape. It was a white cake, filling was custard with strawberries, and white buttercream icing with Lady/Tramp screened pic. This was the most divine cake I've ever ordered! DH said "even better than our wedding cake!" The people at Spoodles were so great though... they calmed everyone down long enough to announce it and we got a lot of "awwwww, how sweet" comments. LOL

Is that the 10 inch cake you had ordered?
Did it taste good??

I just ordered a $12.50 cake. Probably way to small. Think they could change it, if I called back. Just 2 of us, but I was hoping it might last 2 deserts. Ordered it for the room. Just want a regular little slice each.

The reason I didn't get the $25 cake is they said it was also 6-inches, but taller? Has anyone experienced that? How tall is the $12.50 one? Pictures.? Thanks.

Mine is for my room at AKL.

I just called and changed to the $25 cake. They said it is also 6-inches, but just taller. Anyone seen that one?

I hope you can get your cake. The $12.50 was generic kind, but they were going to personalize it for me with "Thanks."

OH MY GOSH!!!! I FINALLY GOT THROUGH TO LINDA
I have been trying now for over a week and always get the answering machine and have never had a call back... well she just picked up and was sooo nice, she said that the message on the machine was so echo-ing that she could not tell what the number was to ring me back and was hoping that I would call again
Well she has agreed to to downsize my cake to an 8" instead of a 10, not the 6" I wanted, but sooo much better than having to have a huge cake for 3 of us. I am so happy

I think the $12.50 cake is a two layer 6" cake. It's definitely big enough for 4 decent sized pieces or 6 smaller pieces. We had it once for 5 people and we all got a small slice plus boxed some up to take back to the room, we cut really small slices though as we already had dessert included with our dinner anyway. We paid around $25 for an 8" two layer cake (excluding decorations which were extra) for 7 people and had leftovers. If they're offering a "taller" cake it's probably the three layer cake. Personally, for two people, I think the $12.50 cake is enough.

Just celebrate being at Disney! If you want one, go for it. You could pick a cute saying about Disney magic or something and have Mickey on it. That could be cute. Or maybe celebrate it be X number time to WDW. Anything can be made into a celebration!
