Getting very frustrated with trying to set up the Chocolate Slipper Dessert for my DN's 16th B'day at CRT. Called the Number for this and it's always the recording and that they will call you back. She tried calling back twice but always mid morning my time when I'm in Meetings and they never leave a good call back number. I want something besides a dang recording grrrrrrr.

Ok I can't decide where to order DS4 birthday cake at Whispering Canyon or at 'Ohana. Has anyone ordered from these two places? What did you think about the cake. We got one from LTT in Feb. for DH birthday an it had White chocolate icing and I didn't like it at all. I want sweet buttercream icing like you get on really good wedding cakes. Also all the pictures I've seen the chocolate icing looks good but we really don't like chocolate.

One more thing can you get chocolate covered strawberries at WCC or 'Ohana DS4 isn't a big cake eater he is mostly into blowing out candles but he loves chocolate covered starwberries so I could always get him those instead of a cake.

thanks for any help!

I haven't read thru this whole thread, but I have an idea..my DD LOVES the haunted mansion...has anyone had any 'ride-themed' cakes before? I was wondering if we could get something special like that for her birthday. It most likely would be at the Poly, I'd like to have it delivered to our room. Thanks!

Hey! Yes there is a cake on here w/ the "hitchhiking ghosts" on it. Let me see if I can find it and I'll PM you the link to it.

Got the PM, thanks! That is really cute!

My other idea was Expedition Everest...think they could make a cake in the shape of the mountain? :)

Having the same issue. Glad I gave it a long lead time because I still haven't connected with a real person and its been a week!

Hi
I want to order a cake for dd birthday I've seen the tel number but is thee a place where we can see the cakes and what to choose from ??
For those who ordered the mickey shape cake is it good for 8-9 persons ?
Is there a possibility of putting some kind of figurine on the cake to keep as a keepsake ??
Don't get me wrong but dd will be 21 but still is a kid at heart :goodvibes
thanks

So, I have been lurking around here admiring everyone's cakes, and i think I have finally come up with a cake I would like to get for my mom and I on our first mother daughter trip in October. I am thinking about having it in our room after dinner on our first night- that way we can eat on it all week. Oh, we are staying at the Poly by the way, wooho!!

So, I am thinking of having a Peter Pan scene on it with Peter and Wendy and the gang flying and having the cake say "We're off to Neverland" Ok, I guess it's not that creative, but it seems a fitting saying to start off the trip. What do you guys think?

Posting as promised:

This was for our dinner at O'hana the night we arrived. It was white cake, fruit mousse filling and white buttercream icing. The Tinkerbell (as I was told) was supposed to be a white chocolate Tink for $25. This Tink figure sold in the parks for $11, and I'm not sure why this is what we ended up with, but I was so happy with it, I didn't really care to even ask! The Mickey shape Tink sits on was white chocolate though. When they brought this out, everyone stopped to turn and stare and we heard a lot of "wows!" and "that is so cool!" type comments. Really great way to cap off the dinner and DD was completely surprised!

As for the Lady & the Tramp cake we ordered from the Boardwalk Bakery for our anniversary dinner at Spoodles, I couldn't get a picture - our camera broke on our last day there, so I only have it on our video tape. It was a white cake, filling was custard with strawberries, and white buttercream icing with Lady/Tramp screened pic. This was the most divine cake I've ever ordered! DH said "even better than our wedding cake!" The people at Spoodles were so great though... they calmed everyone down long enough to announce it and we got a lot of "awwwww, how sweet" comments. LOL

I have ordered a cake for next week with the fruit mousse filling and I was wondering how it was. What type of fruity taste was it... berries, tropical, etc? I'd like to know just in case I want to change it.

Also, for those who had asked about the diver/personalized menues at Coral Reef, here are pics of the personalized menues. I had DH submit pics/make the phone call for our DD's b-day diver/menu.

Little did I know that he had them make one for our anniversary also. He was so secretive about this, and had a computer guy at work take a pic of DH, DS and me, and cut my son (who was between us) out of the pic and put me in his place (next to my DH).... so it was now a pic of just the two of us. Here it is:

The diver held up the sign for her b-day and then flipped it over to reveal my DH's anniversary message to me. It was a total surprise. I thought I was in the know, but ended up so surprised, so I can honestly say from the receiving end this is a GREAT way to make the occasion special!!!!!!! :flower3:

I'm not sure how to describe it other than to say maybe a little of both. It was really good though. It was super creamy and I don't think it was too berry or too tropical. I think anyone would like it. The custard with strawberries on our anniversary cake was my fav though. Absolutely sinful!!!!!!!! :cake:

What was the icing like on the cake at 'Ohana? I am think about getting DS4 birthday cake there yours was so cute do they have a boy character they could put on it I wonder. but anyway was the icing like sweet wedding cake icing or what it like whip cream?

that is one of the cutest cakes I have seen.

Thank you! I was tickled pink with both of our cakes!

The icing on this cake was buttercream, not whip cream icing. It's creamy icing. I guess some might say it's really sweet, but I've had icing sweeter than that before from a grocery store cake or Wal-Mart cake, so to me it's not overly sweet, no. For toppers, O'hana had said they could do a Goofy/Tink/castle in white chocolate. As I said, this was supposed to be a white chocolate tink, but instead we got the ceramic figurine which was a nice souvenier! Give them a call and they can tell you what they can do. I do know that they are more limited because they don't have a full bakery, but still worth a call for sure! Disney cakes are THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

that sounds great then I will get his cake from 'Ohana I was having a hard time trying to decide between 'ohana or WCC. i hope ours looks as good.

Goofy4Disney -- BEAUTIFUL cake!! I'm so happy for your pixie dust and for the special surprises from your DH! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your anniversary!

I have seen a photo of the chocolate sponge with strawberry & custard filling. Did this go together nice or would it be better with white sponge ? I am just about ready to order a cake for our anniversary.:goodvibes
