maybe see if they can do a white choco. figure of pooh and put it on top of the cake. they have done that with many of the chars.

From what I understand, due to copyright issues, none of the Winnie the Pooh characters can be used.

For those who have ordered cakes to the room (via the room service), how many days after your arrival did you do it? We are checking into the BC on a Sunday around 5 pm and didn't know if doing a cake for the next day would be too soon (but I want to eat on it all week).

I am assuming these are recent pictures of the cupcakes :goodvibes
What is "The Plaza" and did you have to pre order this cake?
Did you just request the cupcakes when you arrived for the ADR?

I am trying to decide whether I want to pre order a cake for our anniversary or just mention it at check in for the ADR.

Thanks for the help. :cutie:

Hi, I don't think any one had posted to my earlier question about getting a small customised cake from MK bakery, so I 'm assuming that it can't be done, soooo if I really have to order a larger cake then so be it, but what I'm really worried about is the filling. I really don't want to have a cake with vanilla or chocolate buttercream filling, I would love to have the strawberry and custard filling, does any one know if they do this at CRT?

OR has anyone gotten any other type of filling for a cake at CRT??

Also has anyone had a birthday cake from San Angel Inn, Nine dragon's or Boma?

:thanks:

These were all from our June trip. I told them when making the ADR's that we would be celebrating my sons birthday and they made sure to include this info on the reservations. I did remind them at several restaurants but most of them remembered. All of the cupcakes were complimentary including the one at The Plaza..this one was definitely the best and was larger than a cupcake. It fed our family of 5 just fine!!!

PS..The Plaza is a restaurant at the MK.

From what I know, if you do not preorder your cake, you can only get vanilla or chocolate buttercream filling. If you pre-order it from the cake hotline (which can be shipped to ANY TS restaurant or hotel) you need to get a 10-inch cake to have more options. The have both buttercrams, a strawberry or raspberry fresh fruit filling, or a fruit mousse. I just ordered a cake for Kona cafe with the fruit mousse for my b-day. I can't wait. But, like I said, anything under 10-inches will be quite generic. If there aren't enough of you, just get the 10-inch and save the rest for later!

Just got off the phone with O'hanas and I'm sooo excited! Ordered 10 inch chocolate cake, dark chocolate filling and chocolate buttercream icing. My mouth is watering as I type!

Hi I know this is outdated, but we are going to Ohana's and I wanted to know if you loved your cake?
I'm thinking of ordering one for our anniversary.
Thanks

I just ordered a cake for my daughter's 5th birthday for our dinner at Narcoosees. I'm happy to report it went very smoothly (I was stressing slightly after all the reports of non-helpful people on the cake hotline). I called the cake hotline, pushed all the buttons to get me to the Narcoosee's area started talking to the CM, who started with the "how many people, you're choices are..." and when I said we were looking for something a little more special/out of the ordinary immediately said that I would need to talk to Linda in Grand Floridian private dining. (She was very polite and pleasant about all this). She transferred me to Linda, I got her voice mail and left a message. She called back about 3:00. I explained what I wanted and she told me the options and what it would cost. I then explained that we really wanted it special and were willing to spend up to 75 or 80 dollars on it (I figure if I pay 40 dollars for a cake at the supermarket with vegetable shortening frosting and icing colors that dye my children's tongues I could splurge on this one). I said I know they do a fantastic job and I would trust them. She said she would go and talk to one of the chefs and see what they could come up with and call me back. She called back about 2 hours later and it sounds like it's going to be very nice. I'll post pictures when we get back -- It's going to be an Aurora cake.

I cannot wait to see this cake, DD is an Aurora freak! This is why I love disney, they can make anything happen!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we, too, were able to order a super special cake through Linda in GF private dining. I first called the regular Narcoosees' line for cakes and met a cm who wasn't as nice as expected. I orginally ordered a plain vanilla on vanilla 8in cake for only 5 of us. Needless to say I was disappointed so I called Linda, who I had spoken to at the end of May about our trip in August. I, too, left a voicemail and she thankfully returned my call with an e-mail because I had a picture of the cake we wanted for my our parents' 25th wedding anniversary. We ordered cake 15A in silver...it's 6 inches with vanilla cake and raspberry mousse filling. We are super excited and can't wait to see it next Wednesday. I'll definitely post pictures when we get back. But just wanted to reinforce the previous post about asking for something a little more special.
PS I'm not sure of the cost yet.

So good to hear some good news about the speciality cakes :thumbsup2:
Does Linda have a direct number to call, or do you have to go through the whole thing of ringing the cake thread first?
TIA

I'm trying to decide on which restaurant I should have DH's 40th birthday cake at...at O'Hana on our first night or at California Grill later in the week? DH's bday is in August (this a 40th bday celebration for the 2 of us) so, I'm not worried about having the cake on his bday night. Which restaurant would you have the birthday cake? Or both? :confused3

I am stil thinking about doing a special cake for a celebration. It is nice to see that some people recently have had luck with the "special/different" but they were both at the GF.
Anyone had any great, unique experiences recently at Ohana? or maybe Chef Mickey, regarding ordering cakes?
or in room at the Contemporary? maybe even at LeCellier or Hoop Dee Doo?????

Thanks for any help.

I saw the pictures in the beginning of the thread and the cakes look beautiful. My daughter is almost 3 and wants her birthday party to be with the princesses. She wants them to bring her a pink cake. I made an ADR for Norway but I did not see any pink cakes. Has anyone ever gotten one? I would be happy with a pink cupcake.:lmao:
