Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

I've been on the phone with CM's for the last couple of hours. We are staying at the Contemporary in the middle of November. Our daughter will be turning "6" while we're there. She is wanting an Ariel cake and I remembered there were a couple of pictures here, but now I can't find them. I think Zurgswife had a beautiful one that she got at Contemporary. I called the resort twice today and was told they didn't do customized cakes, only the small 6" ones. Can I get an Ariel one like that delivered to the table or to the room? Also, what number do I call to order something like this?

Any other pictures of princess cakes would be appreciated too.

the pretty ariel cake is on page 1 of this thread, and there is a cake with an ariel stand up decoration on page 2.

I know that you have to have a cc to just secure that cake not to pre pay for it, you are supposed to pay for the cake the day you get the cake. I hope that they didn't charge you for it.

Thanks to the info on this thread, I have decided to order a cake for DS's 10th birthday next month. We're staying at BCV, so I ordered it from Boardwalk Bakery, and I'll just walk over in the morning to pick it up. We have a room with a full-size fridge, so storing it won't be a problem.

I ordered a 10" chocolate cake, with white chocolate mouse filling and vanilla buttercream icing. I also ordered a Donald Duck decoration, for an extra $10. I'm assuming it will be an edible screened image on the cake.

They did charge my credit card for this already.

I'll post pics when we get back at the end of August.

Has anyone ever ordered a cake from in room dining at the Poly? Just curious - I'll be calling a week or so before we go but thats still 2 1/2 months away so I was curious as to what options are available or any experiences w/in room dining at the Poly? Actually I could probably order it when I get there as my DD's bday is on the 5th day of our vacation.

We're also having a lunch at CRT so I'd like to do the slipper dessert as well - that I'll definitely order before we leave.

This is not any help, but I just wanted to tell you that I called today for the same thing. I'm not going for another two and a half months also. I called the number from the cake thread and it wasn't the right number. I finally did get to the Private Dining department. She said they have the Mickey shaped cake and the white chocolate castle topper and "a lot of other ones." I was trying to get maybe pictures or more detail, but no luck. Whatever you want, she said. Anyway, she said that they were the department that made them, not took the orders. After talking to four different people, I gave up. The last person I was transferred to was the private chef for the Luau??? Got a message, so I hung up. Anyway, once you can find the number, it shouldn't be any problem at all. They sound like they can make whatever you want, basically. Good luck!!

I have been trying to order a cake to be delivered to our room at the CR, after we check in. I am getting NO WHERE! Should I just keep trying or should I wait until we get there. I think I just want the 6in cake. The thing is, I am sending gift baskets to CR to arrive right before we get there. I would like the cake and baskets and the ballons and cards to all be in our room when we come back from looking around the resort and before we go to DTD, cause I know their mom will buy some of the stuff I have in my grandsons baskets. I don't want them to say anything at check-in about the baskets or the cake. We don't go until Sept. 26, so hopefully I will have some answers to this. thanks.

My fiance ordered one on our last trip. It was a very last minute thing so it wasn't a very fancy cake. It looked like the last cake in this post (6b)

The cake hot line says only 48 hours notice is needed. If you do it too soon, they could loose the order.

Hi all. Just wanted to share that I just ordered a cake for Aug. 16, 2007 for my son's first birthday. We are celebrating at LTT. I used the cake hotline # and spoke to a person connected with orders for MK resturants. She told me the only avaliable cake combos were chocolate or vanilla. I asked for choc. cake with vanilla filling, and she said its usually just all of one or the other. I was a bit confused, since these boards show much more of a selection for cakes. I decided to order all vanilla with a screen pic of the "fab 5" characters. The total cost was $33 +tax. She did not ask for CC info, just added it to my reservation and said that I would pay the night of the dinner. I just thought I'd add this to the thread, since it was done failry recently.

Thanks for the reply. This happened to us when we tried to order a cake at WL in May - it took forever but eventually we got someone who knew about bday cakes. We ended up having to cancel our trip. I think its in room dining's phone number but we had a hard time getting through. They kept telling us "you can order it when you get here." But we wanted it the day of arrival & I wanted a custom made cake not the frozen 6" cake. Anyways good luck.

Yes, I did. Cake 18C in post number 19. It was for a girl though, so they put an edible image of Cat. Jack in a white chocolate photo frame and put some flowers on it.

I just ordered the 8" chocolate cake with Jo Jo on it to be delievered to LTT! It was $25.00 plus $8.00 for the Jo Jo picture. I will be billed at LTT, so I didn't have to pay ahead of time. This is for my daughter's 4th birthday!

Also trying to figure out what to do about the cake decoration. My DS LOVES Pooh bear but I know that they can't put any of winnie the pooh on the cake for whatever reason So I'm not sure what else to put on it.

Welcome to the Dis!!
LTT is an acronymn for Liberty Tree Tavern restauarant.
You can have an Ariel cake sent to most restaurants or probably even your hotel. Call the cake hotline on the first page of thread and tell them what you want to do!

maybe see if they can do a white choco. figure of pooh and put it on top of the cake. they have done that with many of the chars.
