Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

I have a few weeks before I order DD's cake for her 8th Bday. We will eating at Chef Mickey's on her Bday for dinner. Does anyone know if they have Hannah Montana or High School Musical cakes? ALso DD likes Enchanted alot so don't know if that is and option. Otherwise we might have to order Tink or Minnie. Thanks in advance.

No, I don't believe any of the restaurants will do this. We had leftovers at Le Cellier and there really wasn't anything we could do, so we just let them take it and share with kitchen cast members. You could always offer to share with some other guests around you, which would be a very nice gesture. We had a stroller on one trip and it wasn't hot, so they boxed it up for us and we took it with us.

We had a cake there for our 10th anniversary on New Year's Eve, it's cute, I need to post it...call the cake hotline and just listen to the prompts and you can be directed to the Hollywood Studios catering people...and while they won't send the cake back to your resort they did keep ours for us until about 11:30 or so that night, so probably about 30 minutes before they close..it was all boxed up and stuff so easy to carry to the bus.

Flea1267, did they make a fuss that it was your anniversary? I kinda need to know to prepare my husband so he won't be caught offguard. Actually I like the attention, afterall I deserve something for 25 years, but he can be picky.

I just read a post a few pages back about strawberries dressed like mickey's? what is this and how much and will they deliver these to the pop? Sounds like something nice to have waiting for our first night there.

I only know about the tuxedo choc covered strawberries and some resorts have the Mickey statue. See below.

I only know of the deluxe and home away from home resorts doing the strawberries and/or choc statues. You would call their in-room dining to arrange it. I got mine at the BWV and called their in-room dining.

We will be celebrating DH's birthday at WDW in 2 weeks We will be staying at the Dolphin and I thought I might be able to pick up a cake at Boardwalk Bakery. I really would prefer to order one rather than just buy one that they had there. Has anyone been there recently and can you tell me what they had to offer.

I know that there are examples of BBakery cakes in the thread but some of those were posted a long time ago and I was hoping for recent info/pics.

It was a 10" cake- vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and white chocolate mousse filling. We had some "plain jane" eaters in our group and I wanted to get something everyone would be able to enjoy. We got it on saturday, ate 1/2 if it after dinner) and by tuesday it was completely gone. It was really tasty and moist.

It was $40 for the cake and $8 for the picture minus the DDE discount. It was just charged with dinner.

I want to order a cake for WCC for our anniversary. We are not going until May, so when would be the best time to order this. Also we don't need a big cake as it will just be the two of us, but I don't want the frozen pre-made cake. What is the smallest size and how much is it. Can these be counted on the DDP. If not when do you pay for it? Our room will have a fridge so leftovers can be taken with us.

I also want to get the white choc. slipper for my wife. They only offer this at CRT and the GF right? Will they present it at 1900 PF if we are eating there? How much does that one go for?

One last question. The castle cake that's $25, is the castle choc. or something else? This one is also only at GF or CRT right?

2. Yes, just remind them at the podium.

3. The GF was $14 when I got it there.

4. It's made of white chocolate. I paid $25 for it.

5. The castle cake is only made/offered at the GF. No where else that I know of sells it.

I believe the smallest personalized cake you can get is a 10". We ordered one for my FIL's birthday last October and it was really tasty. If you go to Page 176, post #2631 in this thread you can see a picture of the cake. It was a vanilla/chocolate marble cake with buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting and even with four adults and two young children attacking it at dinner there was about a half of a cake for MIL & FIL to take. The box that they give you is pretty big and I doubt if it would fit in the fridge that is in a standard room. You might be able to ask them to wrap it in something else like foil or plastic wrap.

It could not be counted on the DDP and we paid for it with the meal oop.

The DDE can be used for the cake but not the DDP. Too bad they don't give a discount for AP or FL residents without having to buy the DDE.
