We are staying at AKL in Nov. I called and talked to the private dinning and she said you can delivery cakes to the room. We are having a Zebra striped looking cake for our anniversary and I am having a Mickey Mouse cake for my DD's. Just call the private dinning and she can help.

For those that ordered a cake at 1900 park fare, did you call GF Bakery directly? I called them last week and left a message, but have not received a call back yet. I'm just wondering if I should call again or does it take a while? TIA.

I called the GF directly and asked for private dining. they can do the basic orders. In my case since I had very specific ideas on what I wanted the Private dining person (Pat) put me on hold and walked my order to GF bakery and had someone there help me.

What kind of special cake were you able to order?? I called last week and told them I wanted something special for my SIL's anniv. but she doesn't eat cake....can't tolerate the icing. I told him she will eat pound cake or strawberry shortcake and also asked if they do giant cookies. He suggested doing ganache instead of icing but I was limited to either choc. cake w/ choc. mousse filling and choc. ganache or white cake, van. mousse filling and white choc. ganache. I didn't think they were very helpful....so I would like to know if they helped you out more or if anybody has any better luck. Should I call back???? We are doing this for Sat. night so I would really appreciate any fast responses.

THANKS!!

can you order a cake for ANY restaurant? i was looking to have for 50 prime time but did not see the # listed anywhere. do i just tell the front desk ahead of time? the only problem is we will be going there the night we arrive so it doesn't give much lead way. Also do you pay for the cake when you order it or once diner is over? :confused3

Here is the cake I had done for our reservation at GF Tea

Cake was 8" marble with choc. moouse filling for $25. Cindy cake topper was $15. It was delicous :cloud9:

Snoopygirl -

The cake I ordered was a normal 8" round with white chocolate filling and Icing. The reason they had me talk directly to the GF bakery was because of the special decorations I wanted.

Not sure what your SIL health problem is but you might ask if the cake could be made with Splenda if that is the issue.

I am so sorry that I cant get through all of the wonderful pages on this thread b/c I have to run out and do my "its down to the Disney wire" errands! (I hate last minutes errands)

anywho, I am sure this quwation has been asked a million times, here goes- - I was trying to get a small cake or choc covered strawberries delivered to my room at POFQ for our "Lucky" 13th Anniversary- maybe like a haunted mansion theme-- (Lucky 13-- blah blah) - I talked to the food court poeple and they said I can just pick up a cake there :guilty:

I wanted a nice one like you all had on the boards. I am leaving in 2 days and would like to know if there is anyway I can get one delivered to my room from another hotel?

Thanks! eeek --gotta run! :goodvibes

We are getting a castle cake delivered to our room from the Grand Floridian bakery. They don't deliver, but the girl I have been working with at SOG where we are staying has been wonderful and is picking it up herself. I am not sure if you could have someone at your hotel do this?
If not you can have a special cake done at one of the TS you will be eating at. :confused3

i want o order a cake to be delivered at 50's prime time, who do i call i tried some # off the mainlist but none work (ordering wise)
anyone have the # for prime time directly?

Does anyone know if Hollywood and Vine offers special cakes? I tried looking through many pages here and didn't see anything on the main page. Thanks.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to have a cake delivered to Shutters at CBR? If so, who did you call to arrange it? TIA Maggie

Here are 3 pictures of DS 1st birthday cake at WCC on Sept. 1. I got the idea from another cake picture posted on a different thread. The GF bakery did it and delivered it for our ADR at 7:30 p.m. All the decorations were made out of chocolate. It was absolutely incredible. The pictures don't do it justice. I have pictures with DS, but I have an issue with posting family pictures on the internet. Sorry. Hope the pictures turn out. It's my first time posting pictures.

On a side note, I was able to store the cake in the refridgerator behind the front desk until I checked out. Then, when I got home, we were successful in removing all the decorative chocolate pieces. We are going to use the boots, belt, parchment paper, star, and neck thingie on the cake for the party at home.

Where did you special order this from? My two oldest will be turning 13 and 9 teh end of Sept but disney is part their birthday present. So I thought about getting them one cake to share.

For those of you who have made those special order cakes at the GF..how early did you call? We are going on Oct 21 and I need to figure out a special 13th birthday cake for two girls at GF Cafe. I don't want to leave it until the last minute, but don't want it to get lost in the shuffle either.

I ordered ours about 1 month prior.

i spent about 1 hour on the phone trying to get in touch with ANYONE who would be able to help get a cake for chef mickey's, finally o left a message, i get a call this morning and the girl tells me i have to use their cakes and its a basic cake (no shapes, or pictures on it)
my son is obsessed with herbie so i figure i could order a cake from elsewhere with herbie's picture on it and have it delivered, she tells me it was done once before but its not the norm, so then i ask what if i order the cake myself bring it in myself and you guys serve it, her response, well the cake would have to stay at your table the whole time we can't bring it in the back not even to the cooler!
*** i am sorry but its for a child's birthday why do they have to make it so hard!

can anyone suggest something? i don't know what to do i wanted something special not a round cake that i can get at shoprite any day!

I would call the Boardwalk Bakery for a cake. They may deliver it or you may have to pick it up. You can always take a cab back to your resort with the cake in your lap. The cakes in the food courts are all pre-made and not as nice. Good luck and have a great time!

I've been having the same problem with Chef Mickey's. I've been transferred all over the place, left messages, and still haven't heard back from anyone or talked to anyone who could help me. I could pick up a cake at the MK bakery and take it over. We won't have a car and I don't want to travel too far out of my way just to get a cake. Why oh why couldn't DD have wanted to dine at 1900 PF for her birthday? LOL :teeth:
