Pretty cake. I love that the sprinkles are Mickey. I guess I should have expected that!

Thx for the very yummy cake photos!! :thumbsup2

I must confess, the latest cake additions to this thread have my tummy rumbling :rotfl: ! We're celebrating 5 BD's at Disney Thanksgiving week and our family has arranged for celebrations at RFC, CRT and SoA dinner show. So we're looking forward to it with much anticipation!?!?! :goodvibes

Here is a pic. Sorry taken with my phone at night

The best part is the cake itself was FUNFETTI!

That looks so yummy!

Us3: That cake looks so good! I love the mickey head on the side of the cake. My DH was like we have to order something like that after he looked at the picture!! Looks so good!!

We are a month away from our trip and I've got to decide what to do. I want to get a cake somewhere but don't know where. Here is where all we are eating:

Ohana
Cape May or Wave
San Angel
Yak & Yeti
Kona Cafe
Coral Reef ?
Yachtsman
Chef Mickey
Liberty Tree
Jiko
Teppan Edo
Garden Grill
Crystal Palace
Narcoossee's
Le Cellier

Starting with Yak & Yeti we will be on the dining plan. So I wouldn't mind getting it before then because I know I'll want to order dessert with the plan.

I was thinking about Ohana, which is dinner our first night and I don't like their dessert. :duck: Can you get cakes delivered there? For some reason I can't remember right now. I need to get a special cake made because I'm allergic to eggs.

What should I do? Thanks in advance for reading and for any help you can offer.

I'm not sure yak and yeti does cakes.

I don't recommend getting the cake from Ohana.

I'd suggest using Kona Cafe ( because thats the rumor of where chef TJ is)
or using the Yachtsman

Linda,

If you don't mind me asking how much was this cake? Was it chocolate inside and did you order it from the cake hot line or directly through Coral Reef?
So sorry. I wasn't ignoring you. I haven't been looking at this thread for a while due to Disney withdrawal. :goodvibes I'm not even sure if I already anwsered you or not. So here goes. This particular cake was ordered before the price increase, so it was only 12.50. I'm afraid by now it must be 21.00. It was all chocolate and I ordered it through the CR. It was delish.:thumbsup2

Chell, you are the first person I have ever heard of that didnt like Ohana's dessert lol

Wow :)

That's why I put the duck behind it. I don't like bread pudding and I can't really have it anyway because of my egg allergy.

I'm excited! I call the cake line to order a birthday cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday at 1900 Park Fare. I was told I could get any character on the cake for an extra $15.00. She said it could be any Disney or Pixar character(s) except Pooh Bear. She stated it was due to licensing issues. I was a little shocked by that. I thought Pooh was created by Disney, am I wrong?

I requested to have Giselle on the cake because my daughter will be wearing her Giselle dress when we go. I asked if I would be able to change the character when we get closer to the ressies date. I was told I'm able to up to 48 hrs in advance.

I plan to call back so I can ask which photo of Giselle will be on the cake. I had the wedding dress made and another Diser is making my the blue dress. Can't wait to post pictures. We go in 20 days.

Winnie the Pooh was created by A.A. Milne, who wrote two books Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928). The proper and original version of the name is Winnie-the-Pooh, and the hyphens were dropped by Disney. In 1930 the series was purchased by Stephen Slesinger and in 1961 his wife licensed the character to Disney in exchange for royalty agreements. The same year Daphne Milne, A. A. Milne's daughter, licensed the motion picture rights to Disney.

The above info is from Wikipedia, but I'm assuming that Disney doesn't have ALL the rights.

Thank you! I just thought it was a little weird.

Here are pictures of the cake we bought for our 2 DDs last Dec. It was at the Plaza restaurant. It was marble cake with butter cream frosting. The restaurant was nice enough to hold the rest of it for us until we were ready to leave the park. Then we just picked it up and took it back to the hotel to chow on some more.

I don't like it either... that makes me No. 2! :rotfl:

Cakes are made by the resort bakery, not the pastry chefs at the restaurants. So your choice - and cake - will be the same at any restaurant at the Polynesian.

I'd suggest getting it at any restaurant at Yacht & Beach Club or at the Grand Floridian, since they have the most choice of flavors and designs. However, any Disney bakery can work with you on your allergy issue. :thumbsup2

How are the mini-castle cakes at the GF? I was thinking on ordering one for my upcoming trip, but had read a few pages back that the GF cakes haven't been that great lately. I just wanted to get some opinions before ordering it.

I'm glad to read that the restaurant held the cake for you. We are giving my daughter her cake at lunch at CP. I had wondered what to do with the cake that was left. I didn't want to spend that much money on a cake and leave half of it. Maybe they'll hold it for us. I was thinking we would have to lug it to the car!
