question for everyone who gets a cake delivered to a restaurant in a park.

What do you do with the cake that you don't finish. I am interested in getting a cake for DD sweet 16 but I do not want to have to carry a cake around the rest of the night and I do not want to have to bring it back to the room. Is my only option to throw it away :confused3

that would be great but we had about 15 or so people already coming and to try and change places and times OH no that would be good.

I think I might see if I can order one then and have it picked up by me or someone else and brought over to CF.

Not sure if anyone answered this yet or not but to my (limited) knowledge, you cannot order the castle cake or slipper dessert to be picked up. I've read many times that you can no longer do that unless your staying at the GF-they will then bring it to your room. I believe someone recently ordered something from the Boardwalk Bakery and wanted a castle cake but did not get one like the ones from GF or CRT. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :flower3:

Are you getting married at Disney?? Maybe you could talk to the person coordinating your wedding and see if they could make something happen for you?? I would give switching your ressies a shot-you never know, it could happen without a hitch.

Congrats :bride: :goodvibes

I'm sorry if these questions have already been answered but I need some help! I have several. I tried to call them but they're closed. I want to pre-order a cake for the night of Oct. 25th while my mom and I are at Teppon Edo. It's a surprise cake! It has to be wheat free though (I have Celiac's) and I don't know if the icing or filling have gluten or anything because I can't have that. If that's how it is then I just won't have any.

From what I understand you cannot customize six inch cakes even if it's in advance? I'd like it to have a message on it and Jiminy Cricket as well. If I can't customize it i'll just get the 8 inch and share with other people at our table XD

I'd also appreciate opinions on the flavoring etc. I would ask my mom but I don't want it to be too obvious. The marble cake sounded pretty good...

Also, what are the options for payment? Thanks for any help!

I believe others have had success ordering allergy-friendly cakes. I would certainly call and see what they can do for you.

I believe you're correct that you would need to get an 8" cake for the customized options-that's what we had to do.

I don't know what flavor options would be. I would certainly give them a call to see what they can do for you and go from there to decide if you want a "special" snack for you and still do the cake or just order a special dessert from the restrant. I think it really depends on what you want and what you're willing to spend in regards to flavor and filling options.

As far as payment options, I know I had to give them my credit card number to place the order but it was not charged. I believe the cake's included on your party's check at the end of the meal with the 18% tip there as well.

Good luck. Please let us know how it went.

You could share it with the waitstaff, share it with other diners around you, see if the restraunt will hold it for you until the park closes or take it back to your car/resort. I would think those are probably your only options....sorry!

If you're going to keep it in your room or pack it to bring it home, remember to stick in some disposable plastic containers or ziptop bags to keep the leftovers in and fresh.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm thinking that since it's essentially for my mom I don't want to center the cake around my needs. I think i'll just get the six inch for her with just a happy birthday message.

It sounds like I can arrange this the same day. Should I arrange this through my hotel or just tell the restaraunt that night? I don't want it to be too short of notice.

Wow. I think that I know what I want to order for my b-day cake and then I see pictures of what can be done and then I have no idea what I really want after all.... :confused3

That cake is very pretty.

Do you mind if I ask how it tasted and about how much it cost? :goodvibes

Has anyone tried the "NEW" Sara Lee cakes? Are they any good? I know that they aren't anything special but just looking for a good cake that will make the night special. Plus, I really don't want to deal with any mix-ups or mistakes. The cake is for my DS birthday.

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited! DH and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary this year by leaving the kids for a night, and doing Magic Kingdom just the two of us (MNSSHP)!! It has been years since we have been able to do simple things like go on rides together (one always with a munchkin or two!) so this - although crazy to some people - sounds like a fun and possibly romantic night for the two of us!:lovestruc

Now, we are not doing a "fancy" dinner that night - but I did get 745pm dinner reservations for Tony's Town Square Restaurant...does anyone know if I will be able to get a cake delivered there?

From what I gather the slipper dessert is out of the question, but I would love to splurge and surprise him with a cake! SO EXCITED!!:goodvibes

I was popping back to ask the same question - how does fondant taste on a cake?

That cake is gorgeous and sounds heavenly. How was the taste?!

It tasted great. The cake was a dense yet airy....and very moist and had a great chocolate flavor. (sometimes chocolate cake looks choc and tastes "cake.")

The PB mousse was heavenly! Smooth, creamy, fluffy...The Peanut taste was strong and exactly what I had hoped for.

The Fondant? I tasted it. My son described it best as "It tastes a little like the colored tootsie rolls, but not as sweet." He liked it, I felt that it was a decoration and did not feel bad not eating it. It did not taste bad, but it was not my favorite part of the cake. (again, Fondant is customarily removed before eating, so it did not effect my opinion of the cake.)

The cake was $60 plus tax and tip...so it ended up being $75

Thank you. $60 pre tax/tip by Disney standards isn't bad at all, especially when you got a pretty cake that tasted great too! :goodvibes

I LOVE chocolate and peanut butter. Yummy!

Tinker*Shell*Bell,

Maybe I missed it, but did you leave the decorating up to them or did you specify exactly what you wanted?

I was VERY specific about what I wanted. I asked for pink fondant, silver mickey heads on the sides, white chocolate slipper (left empty) on top, Scroll with HB Princess Emily set on the side, and then I asked them to please add a few girly things, but only a few, and I suggested flowers....they added the flowers and the silver beads (beads not edible.) They also added the tiny pink mickey head candy to the front of the slipper. It's funny how such a small thing can add so much to the look of a cake.

The detail on the flowers was amazing. They were made from royal icing, so very hard, also not edible. But they were gorgeous!

I wanted a very girly cake but also a simple clean looking one. It turned out just how I had hoped!

PS- I called about 5 times to confirm the order (and make sure they had it right.) It was quite a process, but worth every second!

LOVED the pink princess-y cake! So cute!! And how nice of you to share with the step-sisters.

Pre-ordering the cake with the allergies---I would call in advance if possible. It would be terrible if for some reason you showed up and they were out or something. Just me, but I would call in advance. You can also ask about something special for you as well :goodvibes

For a cake at Tony's-I would call and see what they can do. I'd thought about doing our cake there since it's closer to the beginning of our trip and I wouldn't worry about it the entire time we're there. I ended up going with the Coral Reef since we're eating at Tony's before the MNSSHP and we're doing the diver/menus at Coral Reef. Good luck! I would think if Tony's wouldn't do something, you could call the Magic Kingdom Bakery and do something that you could pick up and meet your hubby at the restraunt. Or order your food, then run over and grab it and give it to the hostess so he doesn't see it.

:lovestruc Oh my, I want that cake! I am the only princess in my family ... I wonder if DH would indulge me with that as our anniversary cake? LOL!

Is peanut butter mousse only available at GF, I wonder?

I think i'm going to go with the eight inch cake, just because I can have a picture put on it then. I've been hearing a lot of people mention fillings and icings that I haven't even heard of! Is there like an official list? I'm not really sure how it should look. I'm not the best culinary artist XD I just want a picture of Jiminy Cricket on it and a "happy birthday" but I don't really know how to make that look interesting.

Also, who do I talk to about having that delivered to Teppon Edo during our dinner? Do I talk to my hotel the day of to make sure everything is arranged? Or should I call before my vacation. I don't want to ask the person who will be seating us because my mom will hear and it's supposed to be a surprise. Maybe I can get her to go to the bathroom or something...
