I just gave my charge card to the grand floridian bakery for our custom tinkerbelle cake - Im so excited - I went for the marble cake with white chocolate filling - My daughter really likes fruit but my husband doesn't and there are only 4 of us eating it. Look, look, look at her note below - I CANT WAIT TO SEE OUR CUSTOM CAKE . . .

"After speaking with our Pastry Chef, she is going to create a very special Tinkerbelle cake for you. The cost of $_ _ _ . _ _ will include fondant icing with special Tinkerbelle theming decoration. Please let me know if you wish to proceed with the order. We will need to know the cake flavor and filling you would like."

That sounds awesome! You have to show us pics of it when you get it!

I want to get a cake for our honeymoon but it will just be the 2 of us. Should I pay the money to get the 8inch cake?! I wanted to order it for Coral Reef!?! Any suggestions?!

I remember Coral Reef having amazing desserts. Why not get a cake from the boardwalk bakery, and enjoy it in your room or somewhere that doesn't have out-of-this-world desserts? ;)

Wow. Easy and painless to order the mini castle cake! She told me to be sure to let the server or host I had a cake, though.

Did you use the cake hotline or something else? May I ask if you are having your cake delivered or eating at a GF restaurant? I would like to order one for my dd. Thanks for any help you can give.

Confirmed my cake order yesterda via email:

The cake is 8" vanilla cake with white butter cream cake

Now, just to be safe, we're having this at the Coral Reef and I'm sending Debbi an email for the diver and personalized menu, I'm going to include this information so all is well. Ok I'm ready to go to Disney!!! (almost!) :dance3:

Has anyone ordered a cake through the Poly bakery lately? I'm just wondering what options you were offered for cake flavors and fillings. Were you able to do a custard or mousse filling with fruit or was it just frosting filling?

I'd really like to know so I can plan for whether or not I'm going to order a cake. I'm still over a month away from our trip.

Also, does private dining at the Poly still deliver the cake to your room (after you've checked in of course)?

I called today about getting a cake while we're at Kona. I was told the 8 inch was only available in chocolate or vanilla. I asked her if we could choose the filling and she said no, chocolate comes with chocolate, vanilla with vanilla.
I think we might order one elsewhere.

I spoke with Linda through the GF. I am surprising my husband with the anniversary topper cake when we go for our one year anniversary. We got married in Disney World last year and he hasn't stopped talking about the cake! I'm most excited about the flavor, so the outside of the cake doesn't matter, but Linda said that it will look just like our cake did, just on a smaller scale! How exciting. Now I just have to wait until November :rolleyes1

Does anyone have the email address for Debbi at Coral Reef?
Thanks

I believe it was asked to no longer give that out here on the boards. You could call the Coral Reef and ask to speak with Debbi-she's amazing!

How amazing! I wish I would have had a Disney wedding...I'm trying to talk DH into a vow renewal there in two years for our 5 year anniversary (I know I know...too soon!).

We are spending our 15th Wedding Anniversary and hubbys 34th Birthday on September 14th at California Grill. I need to know should I bother with a cake or just get the "freebie" dessert they offer? We are driving there, so we can put it in the car when we are done. I guess I am just overwhelmed by the information here for ordering, can anyon help me? Should I go with CA Grill or send it to our room at CBR? Thanks to ANYONE who can help me.

Does anyone know how I can get a Mickey cake delivered to All Star Sports?
Thanks,

I lost Linda's e-mail address at the GF, if anyone happens to have it, could you please PM me! :worship:

Here's a picture of our fantastic cake from the California Grill on Friday night. It was EXACTLY what I wanted!

It was chocolate/chocolate and sooo yummy. Layers with yummy chocolate between...wish I had some now!

And here's DH with a big happy smile! He loved the cake.

Here's the 2 of us. A nice family got in on the act and offered to take some pictures.

The cake was huge! That's the 10 inch cake. The cost at the California Grill was $45.00, but definitely worth it. We had so much left over we took it with us on Sunday night for our Wishes fireworks cruise. We shared with friends on the boat and there was still a ton left over. We gave the rest to Captain Dave!

DoOverDreams- when you got your cake at CaliGrill- did you call or email anyone to confirm a week or a couple days before you got it? If so who did you contact? I have one coming next Sunday for our reservation! Thanks!
Betsy

Betsy, a week before our trip I called the Cake Hotline from the first page of this and hit buttons until I got to the Contemporary. And then just asked if everything was set and was told yes. I too was a little concerned after reading some of these posts, but everything went off without a hitch! I was going to call the day before but just ran out of time (and forgot).

I was very very happy with the cake! It was perfect design-wise and so delicious!

One more thing you could do, and I forgot to do, is to ask at the desk at checkin if they could verify also. The front desk can give you a print out of all your ADRs and also call up and confirm the cake too. If they are not too busy. Or at the concierge's desk.

Good luck and post some pictures! Sending pixie dust your way that all turns out perfectly. pixiedust:

thanks for the pic of the Indy Cake- now I need to decide between that one and the mickey cake.. ;)

Thanks for the tips! I can't wait! My cake is for my boyfriend, and we were celebrating his graduation and his birthday later in the month,,,but he just got offered his dream job, so now we have more to celebrate! I'm so excited for our trip! Thanks to everyone on the boards for helping me out whenever I need it! *Betsy

I used the cake hotline and followed the prompts until I got to the restaurant.

She took my dining info and offered the three options-I chose cheescake.

I dont think you can have the "good" cakes delivered to POP so thats why I was thinking Coral Reef. Also, if we have left overs are we allowed to take them on the plane?! Does anyone know?! I dont want to throw away the left overs!

Glad you enjoyed the pic. It was down to those same two choices for me as well! :thumbsup2 In the end, I let the birthday boy make his choice and he chose Indy. Good luck with your choice.

BTW- I don't think I posted a pic of the inside of the cake. Here you go:

I haven't had much luck with this at all yet....I wanted something cute delivered early in the trip but when I called I was told they don't have our ressie until a week before check in and to call back at that point. I've also read on this thread that some were able to talk to someone and make magic happen. We're getting a cake at Coral Reef so I'm trying not to stress too much...maybe I'll call the Boardwalk Bakery and see if they can do something cute that I can pick up and run back to the room one day.

That's what we're doing-having a cake at Coral Reef. As for the left overs on the plane, I don't know how that would work. I take snacks and stuff for my kids on the plane...it's just a snack for you! :rolleyes1 I honstly don't know though....take some disposable plastic containers to pack it in though so it's kind of protected and safe. good luck!
