Anyone picked up a cake from BW Bakery recently? Wanted to make sure they are still doing it. Ever the budget-minded DH wants to pick up to avoid the 18% gratuity of in-room delivery. :rolleyes1

We picked up our cake from the BW bakery last Friday and took it to dinner at Chef Mickey's. I'm working on getting the pictures up on the thread now.

Thanks, Heather! Did you call BWB directly? Or, BWI private dining? I haven't had much luck calling BWB directly ...

I called the number that is on the first page of the thread. It dials to BW in room dining. I asked to talk to the BW Bakery and they said I had to place my order through BW in room dining. I called twice. The second time, I talked with a woman (I believe her name was Kathy.) She was very nice and helpful. Only problem I had was they took my CC# and said it would be charged to my CC. But when we went to pick it up, they said it had not been charged and I had to pay for it when I picked it up ( :confused3 ). Just a little frustrating, but everything else turned out great.

Ok, finally....I'm posting my pics of my DS's Bday cake :yay:

Ordered and picked up from the BW Bakery. Took with us to dinner at Chef Mickey's. The design was my DS's request and BW was the only place that I called that said they could do this. Cost was $58 (includes tax- $48 for cake, $10 for customization).
This was a 10" white buttercream frosting with marble cake and dark chocolate mousse filling. Very moist and delicious. Everyone raved about it (10 people in our party).

Ah, sounds not too different to my experience. First time, the main BW CM transferred me to the bakery but the man who answered hung up on me when I said I wanted to order a cake. Second time, I went to in room dining.

Sorry about the CC mix up. Looking forward to seeing pics of the cake!

I know it is a pretty generic cake, but can some one post a picture of the 6 in cake they received at Coral Reef. I ordered it for my daughter and SIL for their 5th wedding anniversary. They are on the dinning paln, so will probably not eat it. I did it more for the surprise, then I did it for them to eat it. Would just like to see it. It will be the vanilla one with butter cream frosting and I think she said a disc with MM on it that says Happy Anniversary. Thanks

I am now in two minds about DS 9th birthday cake:confused3
We are having dinner on his b'day at Coral Reef. I am hoping to book the Illuminations cruise for afterwards (90 day window is 7th September). If I manage to book the cruise, the original plan was to order the cake from Y&B bakery and have it on the boat, but all the bad reviews on here about problems with cakes all over WDW has made me wonder if I should order from the BW bakery and pick it up myself and physically take it on to the boat!!! I would hate for something to go wrong and for DS to be without a cake on his b'day. If I took the latter option, what is the latest time a cake can be collected from BW bakery. What does everyone think? Any advice would be appreciated
Thank you

Any ideas for a sweet 16 for a girl that likes going to disney but does not like disney stuff  , does that make sense. I mean she has no favorite character etc...

We are letting her bring her best friend with us to help celebrate. We will be having dinner at CRT at 8:15 PM, wanted to do a cake but not sure what would be nice.

She does like things that are amazing and different :rotfl: , I am still are trying to figure out what that means :rotfl2: .

Oh and by the way she does not eat chocolate and more than likely will only have a tiny tiny piece of cake. Should I not even bother. She will eat strawberries, can I get those delivered to CRT.

From what I've seen recently, YC/BC private dining is making the best cakes at the moment (at least the prettiest/ most creative). The GF & BW bakeries are too inconsistent now. I can't help but wonder, if they're trying to discourage people from ordering them. If it were me, I would go with YC/BC.

could someone pretty please point me in the direction of a picture of the glass slipper dessert at CRT.

thanks :)

Thanks for the quick picture

o.k. that looks like something DD might eat, she would definately eat the fruit.
What is the slipper made of and can it not be chocolate ?

It's chocolate with a mouse in the center and that is the only way it can be made. Though most of them are white chocolate slippers. The dark chocolate just seems to come up once in awhile, but the majority are white chocolate.

Hi! I am not sure if this is the right place and it probably has been asked in the 51 prior pages, but can you order non-cake food items to be delivered to your room at AKL/AKV? For example, chocolate covered strawberries or cookies?

Thanks everyone!

:goodvibes Does anyone have updated information on the GF's Anniversary Cake? I was looking for a picture and a price... :goodvibes

We had a custom cake made at 1900 Park Fare back in May. It was an 8" chocolate with white chocolate mouse filling and BC icing. the design was wrong, but the cake tasted wonderful. Cost was $45
